Rose Parade Recap

Midwest Transplant Network was proud to honor donor hero Christopher Hutson Jr at the 2022 Rose Parade® on New Year’s Day. “Little Chris,” as his family affectionately calls him, registered as an organ donor at a licensing office just four months prior to his tragic death at age 19. He ultimately saved seven lives through his organ donation.

Last fall, Little Chris’ family came together to put the finishing touches on a portrait of their donor hero made entirely of organic materials called a floragraph that was featured on the Donate Life Rose Parade® float. Little Chris’ parents and brothers then traveled to Pasadena, California, to decorate the float — which featured Little Chris’ floragraph as well as others from various organ procurement organizations — and attend the parade as VIPs.
