Solar panels generate electricity from sunshine, reducing your reliance on traditional grid power. This can result in significant savings on your monthly energy bills, typically hundreds of pounds each year, allowing you to shift funds to more important expenses
A combination of solar and battery systems provides energy self-sufficiency. You rely less on grid electricity, and your home becomes more resilient to power outages when equipped with a backup battery.
Sunlight is a renewable energy source that produces zero greenhouse gas emissions. By combining solar panels and battery storage, you can decrease your household's carbon footprint and help the fight against climate change.
Having a solar PV system installed on your home, you can boost the property’s value this is because many potential buyers are attracted to properties with solar panels because they offer long-term savings.

“The service was great throughout from the initial consultation through to the actual work and
Many factors will depend on how long it can take for solar panels to pay for themselves or how much money you could make from them A few of these factors are:
The price of your solar PV system
If you have had a battery storage system installed
How much of the electricity you can use from your system
Whether you can be paid for the excess electricity through Smart Export Guarantee (SEG)
We know that the Midlands might not be known for it’s glorious sunshine, but that doesn’t mean that Solar panels won’t work.
PV systems rely on light not heat to generate energy, meaning that they are completely functional when it is cloudy or overcast.
In fact the cooler breeze in the UK actually can help the efficency of your panels by dispersing any heat generated, serving as a natural cooling system.
With MAC we will discuss your requirements in detail and then come out to survey your home or business before designing a system, to make sure we recommend the best solution for your needs. Homes and Businesses that use a lot of energy will generally see the fastest return from solar panels but any property can benefit from them
As an installer MAC will need to understand what energy tariff you’re on and how much energy your home or business consumes on an annual basis
This will help the senior engineer calculate the size of your solar PV system and will then be able to provide you with a quote for it
When considering which system suits your needs best, trust MAC to guide you every step of the way We understand the significance of having a tailored system that meets your requirements precisely That's why we extend our services to installing standalone solar panels or complete solar systems with batteries.
We also offer battery installation independently. Yes, you read that correctly! We can install batteries without the necessity of connecting them to solar panels. Alternatively, we can enhance your existing system. Simply consult one of our senior engineers, and they'll provide expert assistance tailored to your needs.
Solar PV systems are made up with various different components including; Panels, Inverters, Optimisers and sometimes batteries
Here’s what you need to know:
Solar panels, also known as photovoltaics (PV), capture the sun’s energy and convert it into electricity to use in your home. Installing solar panels lets you use free, renewable, low carbon electricity. You can sell surplus electricity to the grid or store it for later use.
Solar energy as we know to day started back in 1839 with French Physicist Edmond Becquerel discovering the the first photovoltaic cell
Times have certainly moved on from 1839 but the science remains revolutionary Here’s a breakdown of how Solar Panels work today
Photons of sunlight react to semiconductors in the glass-cased panel, creating an electric charge
This direct current is transferred using wiring to the Inverters
Here, the current is converted to an alternating current - an electric power source we can store and utilise in our homes
Jinko's latest N-Type modules deliver high power performance and guarantee reliability and safety over a long lifetime
Key features:
Hot 20 Technology improves reliability and lowers LID/LETID PID resistance guaranteed through optimised mass-production processes and material control
Enhanced mechanical load: certified to withstand a 4000Pa wind load and a 6000Pa snow load
Extreme durability: high salt mist and ammonia resistance
Tiger Neo modules come with an attractive 25-year product warranty, and a 30-year power warranty, guaranteeing 87% efficiency after that time!
Batteries are an excellent addition to any Solar PV system, providing you the ability to store the energy you collect for later usage.
NOTE: Batteries are not required for a Solar Panel System.
How does a solar home battery work?
Home batteries store excess electricity generated by the solar panels to be used at the homeowner’s convenience In many cases, solar energy is stored long-term for the purpose of providing backup power when the grid goes down In other cases, excess solar energy is stored and discharged on a daily basis to save money by limiting interaction with the local utility grid.
What happens to solar power when batteries are full?
In grid-tied systems, once a battery is fully charged, excess solar power is typically exported to the utility grid to power nearby systems in exchange for on-bill credit
How long can a solar battery power a house?
Exactly how long a solar battery can power a house depends on the size of the battery and the size of the load it’s being asked to power As a baseline, the NREL found that a small solar system with 10 kWh of battery storage can power critical systems (not including heat or AC) for at least 3 days in virtually every part of the US at any time of year
GivEnergy LiFePO4 Battery

Optional Add Ons will be discussed with you at your site survey with one of our senior engineers.
With the panel capturing the sunlight, how do you get it to power your house? That is where the inverter comes in! The inverter will convert the direct current (DC) produced by the panels into a usable alternating current (AC).
Optimisers are an optional (but recommended extra). These very popular add-ons, increase the overall output of a PV system by bypassing any panels that might not be working. Imagine them like fairy lights - if one of the bulbs go, you’ve lost a whole chain! Optimisers step in to keep your system running before our engineers can.
The Growatt SPH BL-UP 3kW hybrid inverter enables design flexibility with 2 MPPTs and an IP65 rating that allows for the inverter to be installed outside This inverter can be monitored via the Growatt Shine-WiFi-X

The Voltage Optimiser is ideal for homes where the grid voltage is too high It adjusts the incoming power supply by reducing the voltage supplied to the optimum level, by a choice of either 6V, 12V or 18V. This helps to prolong the life of sensitive devices such as TVs, laptops, and anything else with a circuit board.
Key Features & Benefits:
Adjusts the incoming power supply by reducing the voltage supplied to the optimum level.
The digital display shows the output voltage.
The small and compact frame makes installation easy. Prevents wear on appliances caused by electrical oversupply
“We would highly recommend them as the installation went very well. We were impressed with advice we were given from the company on the make and system size to go for and the the quality of the installation was superb.” - Jason
