i try—to tell myself i’m like a basket, woven by my ancestors, each piece strengthening the whole so i am art and function— the best of both worlds.

i am a thousand-piece jigsaw puzzle each fragment sourced from different land. i try—knowing that something should be greater than the sum of its parts but am left empty -handed.
