I NEED TO PEE!!!

BY: RILIE STUNG As most of us experienced, some teachers enjoy being particularly strict on their bathroom policies. Some teachers implement this for good reason, as students in the past have abused their time that they were permitted to use the restroom. However, this creates a dilemma among teachers enforcing their bathroom policies and students really needing to use the restroom.

This created a question among some of us at The Deadline.

Hypothetically, if a student has used all their restroom passes, how are they supposed to relieve themselves? Some teachers will let it slide while others will gladly make it difficult and deduct points.

Lucky for our student body and fellow Deadline readers, we have a solution. Students should be allowed to pee themselves in class without consequence.

There aren’t many options for students in a situation where they need to use the bathroom while lacking enough restroom passes.

As Middle College High School students, we WILL NOT risk losing our precious points in order to relieve ourselves. However, we also advise against holding your pee, as that may cause a bladder infection.

STAFF INTERVIEW: MR. V

What has been your favorite moment so far at MCHS? My favorite moment at MCHS has to be when I found out about the food trucks. I like their tacos and burritos.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like playing games with my friends. One of those games includes Fortnite. There are other games, but no other games compares like Fortnite to be honest, it’s really fun with friends.

What is your favorite subject in school?

Math is my favorite subject. A lot of people would think that it’d be history because you know…... the history teacher and I kinda have a resemblance.

What is one thing you’d like the whole world to know?

I want the world to know that I have a pet turtle named Rose. Also, trade-off and opportunity costs.

DRAGON FASHION BY: DINGO PRADA Yo, what is going on Dragons? We are back with another fit feature, but as you can see, it’s a little different this time. We’re not featuring one of our MCHS students, but instead we’re going to look at a very special fit worn by someone you all should know. It’s my boy my Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street. I saw a picture of him recently and it made me think, “We gotta get this dude on Dragon Fashion”. So without further ado, let’s get right into it.

So first off, this guy don’t even got that much clothing. His fur is green and you guys know what else has green? The famous Gucci Stripes so that means he’s indirectly repping Gucci. Repping Gucci?

That’s instant drip. Other than his fur, he has his trash can which really just does it for him. This trash can isn’t no ordinary trash can as you can see the amount of quality was put into it. The company that made the can made it a little more trendy by giving it that distressed look. The can is also tailored to the measurement of Oscar making him look clean and sharp. What more can you say with such a good looking trash can!

An outstanding feat of acting, cinematography, and direction, Barbie and the Magic Pegasus, is a modern-day classic. The story follows Princess Annika, a sheltered princess who loves to ice skate. One day while she is trying to break free from her parents, a random wizard comes and asks her to marry him. Obviously, she says no. This causes the wizard to turn all her family into stone. Barbie only has three days to accept his proposal or else the curse will be irreversible. Luckily for Barbie, a magical flying horse named Brietta brings her to Cloud Kingdom where all the pegasi live. This is where Barbie discovers she has a long lost sister who was turned into a pegasus. Why? Because the wizard also asked her to marry him, but she refused. Barbie ends up making a magical wand that defeats the wizard from her ring of love. And everyone lives happily ever after.

HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP W/O THE CHICKEN OR NOODLES

DEADLINE UNSOLVED

BY: RAGON ANDRESEN Who- Partying was a way of life for the Club Kids. Marked by their outrageous outfits and open sexualities, they ruled the New York City club scene during the 80s and 90s. The Club Kids were originally started by Michael Alig in the late 80s. The group quickly rose to infamy when Alig’s parties at The Limelight, a famous night club, and his “outlaw parties” began to gain traction.

The “outlaw parties” took place in uncommon settings such as a Burger King, a Dunkin’ Donuts, or the subway. The idea was for everyone to dress up in their costume and to start partying in these places and once they got kicked out, they would make their way over to a nearby club. At these parties, Alig would often act in a heinous manner. It was not uncommon to see him throw $100 dollar bills onto the ground just to watch people fight over it or to urinate on party goers.

However, people didn’t seem to mind as Alig and his Club Kids continue to rise through the ranks of the club scene. The group became a source of interest due to their crazy antics. Articles about them appeared in magazines such as TIME and People. As their fame grew, the group became more involved in drugs. Often at their parties drugs such as cocaine, heroin, and special K were openly available. Some of the group’s prominent members, such as Alig, became addicted to drugs.

What- On March 17, 1996, Alig and his roommate, Robert D. “Freeze” Riggs got into an argument with Andre “Angel” Melendez. Melendez worked at The Limelight and sold drugs there. That night he was fighting with Alig and Riggs over some drug debt that they had been in for a long time.

After the fight became violent, Rigs hit Melendez on the head with a hammer three times. Then, Alig smothering him with either a pillow or a sweatshirt (changes depending on who is telling the event0 and poured cleaner into his mouth. Neither of them knew what to do with the body, so they then placed it in their bathtub and it stayed there for almost a week. After a week, the body began to smell, so they decided that they needed to get rid of it. Alig agreed to chop up the body if Riggs agreed to buy the knives and give him 10 bags of heroin. After cutting up the body, the pair packed it into two bags and a box. They then took a taxi and threw the the bags and the box into the Hudson river. There has been some dispute between Riggs and Alig on what exactly happened that night and the following days because they were “too high to really remember,” but this telling is the majority consensus on what happened.

Aftermath- In the weeks after the murder, Alig bragged to everyone that he and Riggs had murdered Melendez. Alig has been diagnosed with histrionic personality disorder, a disorder in which a person seeks out an excessive amount of attention. Due to this, many people didn’t believe his claim that he had murdered someone. It wasn’t until mainstream media had picked up the story that people began to question the legitimacy of Alig’s claim. Once the piece of Melendez’s body was found in the river, Alig and Riggs were arrested. Alig insisted that they had killed Melendez in selfdefense and disposed of the body because he was panicked. Police were also hesitant to charge Alig with first-degree murder because they were hoping that he would testify against his former boss, who had been arrested for letting drugs be sold in his night clubs. Eventually, the pair was offered a plea deal of 10-20 years for the lesser charge of manslaughter. Today, both Alig and Riggs have been released from prison.

FRESHMANBINDER INTERVIEW How has your experience been at Middle College?

It’s been a really wild and unorganized ride. I still remember my first day of work—I got dressed up in my sleekest labels and got paired up with my best friends, Dividers, to meet my new freshman owner. It was nerve-wracking for all of us involved, but my owner and I are one and the same now. Being a threeinch binder, I always knew that I would have to carry a lot of weight on my shoulders, but I never knew that I would carry a freshman’s entire livelihood.

At this rate, I should have a built-in thermos to carry some food and drinks.

Who is your biggest inspiration in life?

Rihanna. She’s carrying the whole music and makeup industry on her shoulders. #fentybeauty Do you fit in with the rest of the school supplies?

I wouldn’t say I fit into the school supplies, rather they fit into me. A lot of school supplies, especially Planner and Pencil Pouch, call me their home. Honestly, I do find it hard to fit into my freshman’s backpack because I have so many friends to take care of, like POGILs, TRFs, and essays. It gets especially hard when the papers like to mingle outside of their subjects and my owner doesn’t bother to clean me up until a binder check.

How are you holding up to the rigorous standards of Middle College?

I feel like my life is falling apart. At first, I was motivated to get myself together because I only had small things like syllabuses and pencils to carry. Now it’s like anything that a freshman’s pencil scrapes gets stuffed into me, and I’m tearing at the seams. I know that my job is to carry papers, but I think my owner and I could win a weightlifting contest by the end of the school year.

If you could say anything to humans, what would you say?

Maybe not every TRF is super insightful, but my binder friends and I see how much time our owners put into their papers, then jam them into a crammed pocket of ours. Don’t wait until the last second to fix us up before a binder check—appreciate your dear papers. Also, please stop throwing me around. I know Korean dramas are cute, but being pushed against a wall or other hard surface is nowhere near as romantic as you think (I still have a concussion from last week when I got dropped onto one of the stone tables at Budd 105).
