Working with CVBs & DMOs
Planners and event organizers looking for venues, suppliers, help with logistics and more have access to well-connected partners they can rely on in any destination. Convention and visitors bureaus (CVB) and destination marketing organizations (DMO) are fantastic resources that offer a wide range of expertise, connections, and insider tips that help add to any meeting, event, convention, or visit.
Offering a plethora of information and services, CVBs and DMOs are ready, willing, and able to help, serving as excellent partners with in-depth knowledge about their area. They can act as a guide for everything from site selection to dining to activities and more.
“We can quickly distribute RFPs to our partners, whether they are looking for hotels, venues, restaurants, or service providers,” says Scott Higgins, Director of Sales for the Valley Forge Tourism Convention Board
“At the Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board, we always are happy to help with both site inspections and familiarization tours. Valley Forge and Montgomery County, PA is a little different from other destinations - we offer many of the same amenities you would find in a city, but without the added hassle. That is why seeing it in person is often the best way to get a real feel for everything we have to offer,” explains Scott Higgins, director of sales for the Valley Forge Tourism Convention Board.
When planners visit for a site inspection or familiarization tour, Valley Forge Tourism’s destination experts are there to make the process easier from start to finish. They help to coordinate all the details and join planners on the day of their tour, helping them to better focus on exploring the destination and to make the most of their time.
“Planning a meeting is no small task - and it is no secret that it can be one of the most stressful jobs out there,” Higgins observes. “That is why all of our complimentary services are designed to make the process easier for meeting planners exploring our destination.”

He adds that many planners are pleasantly surprised to learn how much the Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board can help - at no cost!
“We can quickly distribute RFPs to our partners, whether they are looking for hotels, venues, restaurants, or service providers,” says Higgins. “Because we work closely with our partners every day, they know to keep an eye out for requests from our team and respond quickly. Planners also appreciate our booking incentives, which can help stretch budgets a little further. When planners connect with our destination from the very beginning, it opens the door to the full range of support and resources our team can provide.”
Higgins adds that Valley Forge Tourism takes time to understand each group’s preferences in order to offer tailored recommendations that align with their needs and enhance their attendee experience. “For example, many of the Life Sciences organizations we work with prefer health-conscious dining and activities, which allows us to suggest options that are a strong fit. By knowing these details, we can help enhance the attendee experience within our destination.”
“If a group is interested in networking opportunities or community engagement, we can facilitate introductions to local chambers and partner organizations to help create meaningful connections and enhance the attendee experience,” states Kelly Groff, CEO, Visit Montgomery County, MD

for Lancaster meetings
Atlantic City, NJ offers a mix of experiences not found anywhere else, blending the energy of a city with a laid-back coastal vibe along the Atlantic Ocean. As one of the only free beach destinations in New Jersey, attendees can easily go from a meeting to the beach or for a walk on the iconic Atlantic City boardwalk.
The city also has a rich legacy as a true “city of firsts” as it is home to the first boardwalk in the world, the nation’s first beach patrol, the birthplace of Salt Water Taffy, and the inspiration for the Monopoly board game. “Today, that history pairs nicely with venues like the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall, which hosts major events and features the world’s largest pipe organ, as well as the Atlantic City Experience, a free museum that highlights the city’s story and culture,” explains Anthony Molino, vice president of sales for Visit Atlantic City.
Visit Atlantic City provides a wide range of tools and support designed to help planners drive attendance and maximize visibility for their events. This includes citywide signage opportunities from the Atlantic City Convention Center to the boardwalk, as well as marketing and communication support. “We also provide pre-event social media promotion to help build awareness and excitement leading up to an event,” says Molino.
Beyond the Atlantic City Convention Center, Atlantic City gives attendees so many easy ways to experience the destination without needing to go far. Everything is close and walkable, which makes it simple for groups to get out and explore between sessions or after meetings wrap for the day. Attendees can unwind on the beach, enjoy live entertainment, or explore year-round attractions and events throughout the city.
“Dining options range from casual spots to celebritychef restaurants, giving everyone something that fits

their tastebuds and budgets,” says Molino. “And because everything is so accessible, it is easy to customize their experience, whether they want a relaxed coastal escape or a full schedule of activities.”
According to Kelly Groff, CEO of Visit Montgomery County, MD, the DMO views themselves as an extension of the planner’s team, and provides complimentary services designed to make planning easier and that help to create memorable attendee experiences.
Visit Montgomery’s support includes: hotel and venue sourcing; site visit coordination and customized itineraries; recommendations for off-site events, dinearounds, and team building activities; connections to local attractions, cultural institutions, and community partners; visitor information and destination resources for attendees; plus customized experiences that showcase Montgomery County’s unique neighborhoods, diverse dining scene, arts and culture, and outdoor recreational opportunities.
“Whether a planner is hosting a corporate meeting, association conference, government event, or life sciences program, our goal is to help them create an engaging Montgomery County experience for their attendees,” Groff assures, adding, “One of the advantages of working with Visit Montgomery is access to our extensive network of community partners throughout Montgomery County. We can help connect planners with local chambers, business organizations, tourism partners, and community leaders who can support their meeting goals.”
“For example,” Groff continues, “if a group is interested in networking opportunities or community engage-
Why York, PA Keeps Surprising Event Planners (In a Good Way)
Event planners are discovering what makes York County, Pennsylvania such a rewarding destination for meetings, conferences, sporting events, and group gatherings - convenient access, distinctive venues, unique attractions, and authentic local experiences. Blending historic charm with modern amenities, York offers a setting that is both practical and memorable.
Conveniently located within easy reach of Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC, York offers big-city accessibility without the hassle. Its diverse collection of historic landmarks, repurposed industrial spaces, modern meeting facilities, and sports complexes can accommodate everything from executive retreats and conferences to tournaments and group gatherings - all supported by a wide range of nearby accommodations.
Beyond the schedule, attendees can experience York’s unique attractions, explore the Heritage Rail Trail, and enjoy a walkable downtown filled with locally owned restaurants, breweries, boutiques, galleries, museums, and historic sites, which makes it easy to build connection and memorable experiences into any itinerary.
One of York’s greatest strengths is the team behind the destination. Explore York works closely with planners every step of the way, offering local expertise, personalized recommendations, and hands-on support to make planning easier from start to finish. It is this collaborative approach that turns ideas into successful experiences.
“York County strikes the perfect balance between accessibility, affordability, and authenticity,” says Morgan Madanick, Director of Sales at Explore York. “Our goal is to make planning as seamless as possible while creating experiences that attendees will remember long after they return home.”
ment, we can facilitate introductions to local chambers and partner organizations to help create meaningful connections and enhance the attendee experience.”
Visit Montgomery also offers qualifying groups an incentive for room nights booked that can be applied toward the group’s master account as an added benefit. In addition, they work closely with hotel and community partners to identify sponsorship opportunities and other value-added offerings that can enhance the attendee experience. “Depending on the program, this may include welcome amenities, attendee discounts, destination experiences, or other customized support,” Groff notes.
Visit Annapolis and Anne Arundel County, MD is fully equipped to assist with off-site events, tours, and group experiences, and takes great pride in offering a deeply personalized, hands-on planning approach, asserts Rasheeda Martin, Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County’s senior director of external relations.
“Jana, our dedicated servicing associate, works closely with meeting planners to curate experiences tailored to each group’s goals, interests, and program vision,” explains Martin. “Our servicing team supports all aspects of destination planning, including off-site venue recommendations, transportation coordination, group tour itineraries, and even community volunteer opportunities that allow attendees to engage meaningfully with the region.”
Known for attentive service and on-site concierge support, Martin says the Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County team excels at infusing authentic local flair into every agenda, from showcasing Annapolis’ historic charm through guided tours
to creating Chesapeake Bay-inspired culinary moments to arranging on-the-water adventures to connecting planners with group-friendly venues near downtown.
By acting as a true strategic partner and extension of the planner’s team, Visit Annapolis can assist with hotel sourcing, but also works with their tourism partners to create authentic Annapolis moments - like hoisting the sails aboard a schooner, oyster shucking at a maritime museum, stepping into the life of a midshipman at the Naval Academy, or participating in a simulated marine training exercise.
“To elevate the arrival experience, we can coordinate destination-themed welcome signage at BWI Airport and host hotels, along with customized welcome gifts,” notes Martin. “Our signature on-site concierge service - available at the host hotel or the new BWI Welcome Center - provides personalized support throughout the event.”
For unique venues, the area features waterfront pavilions, historic homes, museums, and even the NavyMarine Corps Memorial Stadium. “For planners looking to support attendee well-being, we can arrange outdoor yoga, aromatherapy sessions, or mindfulness on the water through paddleboarding and kayaking with partners like Eastern Watersports and Capital SUP,” Martin explains.
“We ensure your program reflects the true spirit of our destination,” Martin adds. “With walkable access to downtown hotels, waterfront activities, cultural attractions, and unique gathering spaces, we help craft itineraries that feel seamless, memorable, and unmistakably Annapolis.”
Greg Kavanagh, vice president business development for Visit Williamsburg, says that CVBs and DMOs bring tremendous value in a variety of ways. “Most importantly is the one-stop point of contact for the coordination of group activities. Access to incentives to help
Chester County
Say the word “Poconos” and what comes to mind?
You might think of honeymoons and heart-shaped tubs, or maybe it’s lake days, skiing, and outdoor adventure. But the Pocono Mountains is also synonymous with AAA Four Diamond, luxury executive retreats like Skytop Lodge and French Manor Inn and Spa, or modern and expansive convention centers as the 205,000-square-foot facilities at Kalahari Resort and the 20,000-square-foot venue at Mount Airy Casino Resort, plus legendary golf courses, world-class spas, sold out summer NASCAR races, and so much more.
Expect more than mountains in the Poconos! Plan a site visit to see for yourself all the destination has to offer, from timeless natural beauty to new sleek and sophisticated properties such as The Swiftwater, a boutique hotel which opened in 2024, delivering elevated and exceptional experiences. In the Poconos, meeting attendees can focus and connect in state-of-the-art event venues then unwind with incredible fine dining or drinks at toprated breweries, wineries, and distilleries along the Pocono Beverage Trail. Sample the world’s best cream ale at Wallenpaupack Brewing Company or put together a flight of wine slushies at Radical Wine Company with your co-workers after a day of meetings.
Take advantage of out-of-the-box team building possibilities like a tour of one of the largest Regenerative Organic Certified Farms in North America, Pocono Organics or take on unique challenges such as scavenger hunts and build-a-boat races at Woodloch, or even spend an adrenaline-filled afternoon at Skirmish Paintball, the largest paintball park in the world. support an organization’s conference budget, and the facilitation of RFPs to the best matches among a wide range of hotels are important, too.”
Kavanagh notes that their organization promotes and relies upon the deep historic roots of Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown, VA, which are the points of the Historic Triangle represented by Visit Williamsburg. “In this 250th anniversary year of the United States, as well as the 100th anniversary of Colonial Williamsburg, we capitalize on that background as an interesting backdrop for important meetings of all kinds.”
The Historic Triangle now boasts nearly 500,000square feet of space with the opening of the Greater Williamsburg Sports and Events Center, which has added to the existing function space within key area hotels. Additionally, the diversity of the coastal geography lends to exciting team building opportunities at places like Busch Gardens, Great Wolf Lodge, and Williamsburg Winery. There are 20 courses for golf,
plus cultural programming at museums, archaeological centers, and local exhibitions.
“We often are called upon to assist with both local and airport transportation from Richmond, less than an hour away, as well as off-site dining and attractions. We offer a range of planning services in coordination with hotels from welcome bags to specialized tours,” Kavanagh notes. “Bringing a planner’s initial inquiry to the conclusion of a successful meeting is what we do. Working with a DMO opens up a wide range of possibilities that may not otherwise have been explored.”
Serving as valuable resources and true partners in the planning process, destination representatives are well connected and offer knowledge, expertise, contacts, data and more. They offer valuable insight and aid in creating connections for the planner within that destination, providing opportunities to establish new relationships - now and in the future.

Mountain Meetings
Planners in search of inspirational surroundings, ample and outstanding meeting and event space, plenty of recreational opportunities, team building, relaxation, and rejuvenation will find all of that and more in mountain destinations.
Here, remarkable views, relaxed environments, outdoor escapes, and unique experiences await. Mountain resorts boast offerings like mouthwatering restaurants, invigorating spas, exciting entertainment, and awesome adventures. Whether planning a meditative retreat or energetic team building program, planners will find a plethora of offerings to meet their needs.
“For groups interested in golf, Ocean City offers a premier golf destination with more than 17 championship caliber courses throughout the area. Many courses feature scenic layouts with bay, marsh, and coastal views, providing a uniquely Eastern Shore golf experience.”
Kim Mueller, Director of Sales, Ocean City Maryland Tourism
According to Sarah Farrell, regional sales manager for the Pocono Mountains Convention and Visitors Bureau, “There is something about getting people out of their normal environment that changes the energy of a meeting. In the Pocono Mountains, attendees are not looking out at office buildings or sitting in traffic between events - they are surrounded by lakes, forests, mountain views, and open space. It creates a natural opportunity to slow down, recharge, and focus on the experience.”
“We often hear from planners that some of the most valuable conversations happen outside the meeting room,” Farrell continues. “Whether it is a walk between sessions, coffee on a patio overlooking the mountains, or networking around a firepit, the setting encourages authentic connections that can be difficult to replicate in a traditional urban environment.”
As organizations continue to place greater emphasis on wellness and employee engagement, destinations that support both productivity and well-being have become increasingly important. The Pocono Mountains offers a balance of meeting space, outdoor experiences, and opportunities to disconnect from daily distractions while still accomplishing business goals.
Farrell says that one of the things planners love most about the Pocono Mountains is its variety. “Groups can be as adventurous or as relaxed as they want to

be. Popular activities include hiking, golfing, ziplining, mountain adventures, boating and whitewater rafting, as well as skiing and snow tubing in the winter season.”
Wellness-focused activities, guided nature experiences, outdoor leadership challenges, culinary competitions, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs are becoming increasingly popular as organizations look for ways to create meaningful connections among attendees.
But the best team building activities are the ones that do not feel like team building, Farrell asserts. “Whether it is navigating a raft down the river, tackling a ropes course at Skytop Adventure Center, taking part in a community service project, or competing in a culinary challenge like the charcuterie challenge at Woodloch Resort, attendees naturally communicate, collaborate, and build relationships while genuinely enjoying themselves."
One misconception about the Pocono Mountains comes from its history as a honeymoon destination and as a region for outdoor recreation and family travel. But it has evolved into a highly versatile meetings destination and can accommodate everything from executive retreats and luxury incentive programs to large conferences and conventions.

The Pocono Mountains offers a unique combination of accessibility, variety, and flexibility. Within a relatively compact region, planners can choose from large-scale convention resorts, boutique hotels, historic lodges, luxury wellness experiences, unique venues, and outdoor attractions. Attendees can experience multiple properties and activities throughout a program without spending hours in transit.
“We also are seeing continued investment across the destination, including new spa features and convention space developments, as properties expand and enhance their offerings to meet evolving planner needs,” notes Farrell. “The region is close enough to major markets like New York City, Philadelphia, and New Jersey to provide an easy drive-in option while still delivering the feeling of a true destination experience.”
Most importantly, planners can return to the Pocono Mountains year-after-year and create an entirely different program each time. One year may focus on wellness and executive networking, while another may incorporate outdoor adventure, CSR initiatives, culinary experiences, or large-scale convention programming. Few destinations offer that level of flexibility with such ease of proximity, Farrell asserts.
“The most successful meetings create opportunities for attendees to connect both inside and outside the meeting room, and that is where the Pocono Mountains really shines,” Farrell adds. “I would start with a welcome reception that immediately immerses attendees in the destination - mountain views, local flavors, and a relaxed atmosphere that encourages networking from the moment guests arrive, then balance productive meeting time with an experience attendees could not have back home.”
“When people leave with stronger relationships, memorable experiences, and a genuine sense of belonging, that is when a meeting becomes truly unforgettable,” Farrell concludes.
At Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, planners have the flexibility to move between expansive meeting spaces and outdoor venues, giving attendees a meaningful change of environment throughout the day.
“That shift in setting can have a powerful impact on engagement and wellness,” explains Stephani Bann, CMP, director of sales for Kalahari Resorts in the Pocono Mountains. “Stepping outside between sessions allows guests to recharge, clear their minds, and return with renewed focus. It creates natural moments for reflection and connection, helping attendees reset as they transition into new topics, activities, or conversations.”
The mountain surroundings add a sense of escape from the everyday, which often leads to greater creativity, stronger participation, and a more memorable overall event experience. Groups are increasingly looking for experiences that go beyond the traditional meeting agenda, and outdoor activities are a great way to foster collaboration in a more relaxed setting.
One of the most popular options at Kalahari is Gorilla Grove Treetop Adventures, which offers unique team building opportunities through challenge-based activities that encourage communication, trust, and problem solving. It also introduces an element of play that is not typically found at a convention destination, helping colleagues connect in a truly authentic way.
“Another standout is our Boma event space,” says Bann. “Located just outside the River Ballroom, the River Patio and Boma create a distinctive indoor-outdoor gathering environment that planners can use for receptions, networking events, team celebrations, or casual evening functions. The space offers a memorable atmosphere while still supporting event objectives, making it a natural extension of the meeting experience.”
Whether groups are focused on relationship building, networking, or simply bringing attendees together in a fresh setting, these outdoor venues help create meaningful connections.
“What truly sets Kalahari Resorts & Conventions apart is the ability to offer an authentic mountain escape while keeping everything attendees need in one destination,” Bann asserts. “Rather than requiring groups to travel between lodging, dining, entertainment, and meeting venues, Kalahari delivers a complete experi-
ence under one roof. Plus, we provide the added benefit of outdoor spaces that allow guests to enjoy the natural beauty of the Pocono Mountains.”
At Kalahari, groups have access to more than 205,000-square feet of flexible meeting and event space, nearly 1,000 guest rooms and suites, diverse dining options, spa and wellness experiences, and a wide range of family-friendly attractions that make it easy to extend a business trip into a personal getaway. The result is a destination that can accommodate virtually any style of event from large conventions and trade shows to executive retreats and incentive programs.
“There is something about getting out of the traditional conference environment and into a natural setting that helps people connect more authentically,” observes Christy Ranallo, director of sales and marketing for Skytop Lodge. “At Skytop Lodge, it is the 5,500-acres of mountain air that encourages attendees to step outside before, during, or after their meetings. We often have meeting planners build time into their schedule to do just that during breaks or to plan a guided hike for team building.”
“Unlike many destinations, at Skytop Lodge we offer a unique combination of historic charm with luxury accommodations, exceptional dining and outdoor adventure,” notes Ranallo.
“Being that we are nearly a century old, we have done a great job in blending those experiences where it feels exclusive and authentic.”

Southern Delaware
Some of the most popular outdoor experiences at Skytop Lodge include guided hikes with one of the property’s two on-site Naturalists, along with ziplining and kayak tours. Many groups also appreciate gathering around campfires after dinner, which creates memorable moments for networking and relationship building.
Sessions by the Shore
Meeting by the water provides groups with so much more than scenic surroundings. These locales are ideal for recreation and rejuvenation with a host of activities and amenities that make for memorable events and conferences. Guests can partake in team building activities, enjoy boating and recreation, or relax and rechargewhether by the ocean, bay, lake, or river.
According to Tina Coleman, communications manager, Southern Delaware Tourism, “There are a lot of obvious reasons why an oceanfront destination is ideal for meetings and incentive programs, not least of which is the relaxed vibe that sea breezes and the sound of the waves play in blowing out the cobwebs and inspiring calm, creativity, and collaboration.”
“Southern Delaware elevates that even further by offering second-to-none, year-round Culinary Coast™ dining, incredible scenic beauty, outdoor activities and adventures for all interests and abilities, tax-free shopping, a rich arts and entertainment scene, and much more - all within easy driving distance of New York, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Baltimore and the rest of the Mid-Atlantic,” Coleman adds.
None of Southern Delaware’s beach, water, and outdoor group activities can be replicated elsewhere thanks to the unique scenic beauty of the area, its variety of geographic environments like beaches, bays, waterways, marshes, coastal forests, farms, state parks, an impressive trail system, a cypress swamp - combined with a legion of tourism partners, Coleman asserts.
Groups enjoy experiencing the variety of boat tours and cruises available, too, including sunset cruises, dolphin cruises, lighthouse cruises, music cruises and more. “They enjoy charter boat and surf fishing, paddling excur-
sions, cycling or hiking our trails,” Coleman notes, “visiting our breweries, wineries, and distilleries, golfing, farm visits, touring historic sites and museums, taking in galleries and shows, tax-free shopping, and more.”
A bit further up the coastline in New Jersey is the modern, multi-purpose facility equipped with an arena - the Wildwoods Convention Center. It offers exhibit, ballroom, meeting, and pre-function space on the world-famous Wildwoods boardwalk and beach directly overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. When looking eastward from the convention center, there is an unobstructed view of the ocean, while to the north and south are views of the beach and the excitement of the boardwalk. The facility includes a 75,000-square foot exhibit hall that can be divided into two 37,500-square foot sections, a 7,500-seat arena (ideal for concerts and major competitions), a 12,000-square foot ballroom, 30,000-square feet of lobby and pre-function space, plus ten meeting rooms.
Right outside are 38 blocks of boardwalk excitement with retail shops, arcades, carnival games, over 300 eateries, plus three amusement piers with more than 100 rides and attractions as well as two beachfront waterparks. The executive chef and seasoned catering staff will meet the needs of any meeting, convention, or event with outstanding catering, an array of food service and concession services, as well as décor and theme consultations.

tion housing support and service, enhanced and powered by MeetingMax, the leader in the Internet-based convention housing industry with a wide array of reports available to the meeting planner. In addition, the Wildwoods Convention Center maximizes sub-block requirements, thus protecting key space allocations for special block requirements. Experienced housing staff also work with hotel staff to accurately identify and verify inventory, rates, and other requirements.
Often ranked among the best beaches in the country, the Wildwoods’ five-miles of free white sand beaches also are the largest beaches on the East Coast, making the setting well-suited for large events. Whether it is surfing or swimming competitions, outdoor concerts, Beach Drag Races, Beach Soccer Tournaments, Field Hockey and Lacrosse Tournaments, Ultimate Frisbee Championships, Baseball on the Beach Tournaments, Monster Truck Rallies, Volleyball, or Track and Field Competitions, the Wildwoods can host it. Add to that bleacher seating for over 3,000 spectators, and the beaches are a perfect outdoor venue.
The Wildwoods is one of the most sought-after places for meetings and conventions at the Jersey Shore. For larger meetings, conferences, or public events, the Wildwoods Convention Center team can help customize an itinerary to align with an organization’s goals, group size, and event requirements.

In Ocean City, teammates are able to soak in its 10miles of Atlantic coastline while taking advantage of modern meeting facilities and inspirational backdrops at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center and Ocean City coastline.
Beyond the meeting room, attendees are offered a walkable resort atmosphere with more than 10,000 hotel rooms, 200 restaurants, and a plethora of recreational activities. Individuals can enjoy memorable experiences outside of boardroom while still having access to the amenities and services expected from a premier meeting destination.
“Ocean City’s versatile environment creates a combination of business and leisure that helps create memorable experiences that leave a lasting impression on
attendees who will be craving a visit back time and time again,” asserts Mueller.
“Groups visiting Ocean City prefer to include private sunset cruises on the bay, deep-sea and bay fishing excursions, kayaking and paddleboarding excursions, and waterfront dining experiences,” Mueller adds. “Popular additions to conference agendas also include sunrise beach walks and morning yoga and group fitness sessions, which are perfect for unwinding after several busy business days.”
There are several unique coastal experiences in and around Ocean City, but one in particular is an excursion to Assateague Island, where wild horses roam one of the most scenic coastal environments on the East Coast. A visit here can be coordinated through dozens of vendor excursions available from the spring to fall, or privately by vehicle in the winter months.

such as Maryland blue crabs, oysters, live music, and fresh-caught seafood to create a memorable Eastern Shore experience that attendees will not find in a more traditional convention destination,” Mueller adds.
Blending modern meeting facilities with unforgettable waterfront experiences, Ocean City delivers more than a successful conference - it creates a destination experience that encourages attendees to return year after year for both business and leisure.
Each of these meeting destinations are all-season resorts that offer opportunities for attendees to relax and recharge while connecting with nature. Mountain settings are an ideal choice for those seeking an escape from the everyday with the enrichment of boundless adventure, while meeting by the water provides access to a variety of venues offering indoor and outdoor spaces that entice and inspire.

RESORTS ATLANTIC CITY
Atlantic City, NJ
Resorts Atlantic City offers several styles of themed dining options for group gatherings with semi-private spaces that can be reserved. There is the fun and casual beachfront dining of Landshark and Margaritaville to more formal dining at the award-winning Capriccio Italian Restaurant, which is consistently recognized as a top-five restaurant in the country. Dougherty's Steakhouse and Raw Bar, a traditional style steakhouse that marries the local seafood scene, is another option for group dining.
The unique, Tuscan villa-themed Rustic Kitchen Bistro & Bar at Mohegan Pennsylvania features a Bar Café, wine cellar for private events, and an innovative, broadcast-ready TV studio-kitchen in its main dining room
“Group gatherings in Capriccio’s often are hosted on the outdoor balcony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and historic Steel Pier, or in the indoor Terrace section of the restaurant, which also shares those views,” explains Mark Giannantonio, president and CEO, Resorts Atlantic City. “Dougherty’s Steakhouse & Raw Bar offers a private dining room available to accommodate up to 12 guests; for larger gatherings, a reserved dining room seating area will be provided to groups. They also offer a more casual opportunity to reserve a section of their Raw Bar, which can be made private by decorative hidden walls.”
Private dining experiences for groups from 25 to 900 guests can be arranged through Resorts’ Catering Department, as well. Every event space on-site offers natural light and unique charm. Private events can also be held at the indoor-outdoor swimming pool, as well, and in Capriccio’s when it is not open to the public.
“The Banquet and Catering team at Resorts has been honored for several years as being among the best in the industry,” says Giannantonio. “We have serviced top level executives with focused private meetings, large seminars and conferences, full conventions with exhibits, seminars and dining experiences.”
Able to accommodate up to 500 guests for a cocktail reception and dinner, hosted events may include black tie galas for established internationally recognized culinary groups, fundraisers and galas, and family celebrations. “And, our wedding market is booming, again
recognized as the best in the Atlantic City casino market. In the past five years, we have received strictly 5Star reviews,” Giannantonio adds.
While Resorts Atlantic City offers packages and suggested prix fixe options to help guide guests, they are happy to customize every detail, and creative group menus are available in all locations. “You can find signature dishes and local favorites on many of our menus,” Giannantonio explains. “Perhaps it is the fresh catch of the day from the Atlantic - the ocean we overlook - or a savory or sweet dish that is reminiscent of the boardwalk just outside our doors.”
Resorts Atlantic City also can work with its restaurant partners to arrange a dine-around or a “Taste of Resorts” for guests, presenting an exciting opportunity to showcase all that Resorts offers from a F&B perspective. They also have featured “Happy Hour Trails,” inviting guests to enjoy the property’s eight bars on-site (nine in summer when the pool bar is open) during their stay.
“With every style of dining option available under one roof, we have hosted groups that have offered welcome drinks and bites at Dougherty’s or Capriccio’s with the next day full of events hosted by our Banquet Department, followed by an after party and dancing in Bar One or a fun gathering in Draft Kings to catch the games from the private VIP section,” observes Giannantonio. “Parting breakfasts and brunches are offered for groups, as well.”

Groups can choose from our banquet menu or a restaurant’s signature menu, giving them more options than a traditional banquet experience.”
In addition, customization is welcomed at Bally’s, Ciccone notes. Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia’s in-house culinary team can cater throughout the property. The Live! Five additional ballrooms and meeting rooms support smaller receptions and functions alongside a stylish pre-function space.

The culinary team at Live! Philadelphia is built to collaborate, assures Maddox, and they actively lean into
the city’s iconic food culture when designing group menus. “That means our team can cater some of Philadelphia’s culinary classics straight from our newly reimagined 10th Street Market food hall.” The market includes Lorenzo and Sons Pizza, a South Philadelphia staple, beloved Termini Bros. Full restaurant buyouts also are available at all venues and can be arranged based on the group’s size, needs, and budget. The Mohegan Pennsylvania team also is happy to explore additional, flexible options to create the perfect setting for an event. Yet another option includes full-service, in-house catering for events of all sizes at various venues throughout the property.
In addition to its restaurant offerings, the property is home to: meeting, reception, banquet, and large-scale event spaces; and fully-customized food and beverage programs; and service across multiple on-property venues. Customized menus can include anything from approachable regional cuisine to elevated fine dining experiences. They also can incorporate Northeastern Pennsylvania flavors and signature dishes to help showcase the destination and create a memorable guest experience.
Unique opportunities combine dining with entertainment and elevated VIP experiences, as well. Rustic Kitchen - The Cooking Show is a live, interactive, chefled culinary experience that brings guests closer to the
action. There also are regularly scheduled live musical performances across the property (Breakers, Embers Terrace, The Hive Taphouse) that help to create a vibrant atmosphere for receptions, dinners, and nightlife experiences.
Throughout the year, Mohegan Pennsylvania hosts a variety of seasonal festivals, themed celebrations, and large-scale entertainment events that can enhance group programming, while venues like Wisecrackers Comedy Club offer dedicated entertainment options that can be paired with dining experiences. Additionally, guests can seamlessly combine dining with gaming or VIP amenities.

Team Building & Recreation
Team building and recreational activities can serve as great opportunity to get attendees outdoors, whether for golf outings, culinary and barbecue competitions, beach and water activities, scavenger hunts or ziplining.
In addition, many resorts throughout the region offer a wide array of additional amenities, opportunities, and experiences. Such activities can inspire, rejuvenate, excite, energize, and refresh. Team building and recreational activities also help bring people together in fun and exciting ways. These experiences are ideal for those seeking unique and entertaining ways of fostering unity and togetherness.
Build-A-Boat is one of many popular team building activities offered by TeamBonding
According to David Goldstein, founder of TeamBonding, “One of the things I’ve learned after more than 35 years in the team building business is that most teams don’t want pure competition or pure collaboration - they want both. For groups that love a little friendly competition, some of our most popular programs are our city scavenger hunts, Outrageous Games, Corporate Survivor, Build-aBoat, and the game show ‘In It To Win It.’ These experiences create energy, laughter, and just enough competitive spirit to get people engaged without anyone taking themselves too seriously.”
On the collaboration side, Goldstein says programs like The Big Picture, TeamCuisine, Drumming Up a Team, and one of their newest, Collabo, are designed to bring people together around a common goal.
“I particularly enjoy watching Collabo unfold, because it reinforces something I have observed throughout my career, which is that the strongest teams are not made up of people who all think alike or have the same skills,” Goldstein observes. “They are made up of people who trust each other, share information, and recognize that everyone has something valuable to contribute. When participants realize they can accomplish more together than they ever could individually, that is when the real team building happens.”
One TeamBonding program that sits at the intersection of competition and collaboration is Beat the Box, which has become one of their most requested events, says Goldstein. In this program, teams race against the clock to solve puzzles and unlock challenges, so there is a sense of urgency and excitement. However, the only way to succeed is through collaboration - nobody can solve everything alone. The teams who communicate best almost always come out on top, Goldstein says, adding, “To me, that is what great team building looks like.”
Giving back is another great way to build team unity, and it has become one of the biggest trends TeamBonding is seeing in team building today. “Employees and organizations now are seeking out experiences that are more than just a fun event. They want to feel like they are making a difference. That is why our charitable programs continue to grow in popularity year after year,” Goldstein explains.
Some of their most requested Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs include: Charity Bike Build; Clean Water Connection; Tools for Schools; MealPack Giveback; Team Teddy; and Build-A-Birthday. These experiences allow teams to work together while directly benefiting local communities, schools, families, and nonprofit organizations.
“What I love most about these events is what happens at the end,” Goldstein observes. “You can literally see the shift in the room when participants meet the people they are helping, or learn where the donations are going. The team leaves feeling connected, not only to each other, but also to a larger purpose. That's a powerful combination.”
Customization is another big part of what TeamBonding does, as no two companies are exactly alike, so no two team building events should be either, Goldstein asserts. “We regularly customize programs to reflect a company’s values, mission, culture, products, leadership messages, or strategic goals. Sometimes it is subtle, other times we build entire challenges around a client’s theme or business objectives. The goal is to

create an experience that feels relevant and timely to their needs, rather than generic.”
Working with groups ranging from small leadership teams of 10 people to conferences with thousands of attendees, TeamBonding’s facilitators are experienced at designing programs that are inclusive, accessible, and engaging for people with different backgrounds, personalities, and skill levels.
“At the end of the day, team building isn’t really about the activity itself,” Goldstein explains. “It is about creating shared experiences that help people connect, communicate, and work better together. If we can accomplish that while having some fun along the way, we have done our job.”
As the site of the Civil War’s most pivotal battle, Gettysburg, PA offers a preserved landscape where visitors can walk the actual ground where history unfolded. Ranger-led programs, guided tours, and self-directed exploration connect historical events to locations on the battlefield. Museums and exhibits present military strategy alongside civilian experiences, offering broader social context. Gettysburg also evokes emotional connection and reflection, helping visitors under-
stand themes like sacrifice, leadership, and national identity.
“In Gettysburg, history is not just observed, but experienced in meaningful and memorable ways,” notes Joel Huffer, director of communications and advocacy for Destination Gettysburg.
“Gettysburg offers a wide range of experiences that combine professional development, outdoor adventure, and the area’s historical character,” Huffer continues. “Through several leadership training programs, participants use the lessons of the Battle of Gettysburg as a framework for exploring leadership, communication, decision-making, and teamwork.”
Orvis Hill Country in nearby Fairfield sits on 600-acres where corporate groups can participate in sporting clays, fly-fishing instruction, upland hunting experiences, and other activities designed to encourage collaboration and camaraderie. The Gettysburg area also features several scenic golf courses for team outings, networking, and casual group play.
“No two visitors to Gettysburg are the same, so meeting the needs of everyone requires flexibility and vari-

ety in your itinerary,” Huffer asserts. “Many experiences naturally offer both energetic and leisurely options, such as exploring the battlefield on foot for a more active experience or choosing a guided bus or self-driving tour for a more relaxed pace. Adventurous visitors might choose horseback riding or biking, while carriage rides, scenic drives or a Gettysburg Railway excursion might be preferred by those seeking a slower pace.”
Planners will discover serene mindfulness, relaxation, and wellness experiences throughout the Wildwoods, NJ, stretching across the scenic shores of North Wildwood, Wildwood, and Wildwood Crest. The Wildwoods’ five-miles of expansive, clean, safe, and award-winning beaches have been recognized by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards as Best Beaches in New Jersey for three consecutive years.
Reading, exploring, collecting seashells, building sandcastles, watching the waves, and simply relaxing on a beach chair under an umbrella are just a few ways to enjoy the tranquility of the Wildwoods’ beaches, along with watersports activities like boogie boarding, surfing, paddle boarding, and boating.
Another way to enjoy the natural beauty of the Wildwoods is at the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse English Gardens, located at the northern end of the island. Meant to mimic the unplanned, rustic look of the peasant gardens of early England, the Lighthouse English Gardens

David Goldstein, founder of TeamBonding, notes that sports-themed activations offer a unique and timely hook, capitalizing on the competitive spirit and buzz of recent world sporting events to create excitement as part of team building programs. Such activations bridge generational gaps by combining the high-energy, shareable moments Gen Z craves with the in-person and c ompetitive collaboration that Millennials and Gen X value.
With a proven track record at iconic venues like MetLife and Raymond James Stadiums, TeamBonding has designed high-stakes events for brands like Verizon, Coca Cola, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the New York Jets that have transformed professional arenas into catalysts for corporate engagement.

have been densely landscaped with many varieties of plant life of all heights, shapes, and colors, making for an enchanting, calming stroll.
Sunset Lake is another scenic destination, tucked away on the bayside of Wildwood Crest. This area of water is named for its scenic sunsets - a hub of activity where nature lovers can partake in a variety of water-related activities. The Gazebo at Sunset Lake hosts a weekly Summer Concert Series where visitors can bring a blanket or beach chair, sit back, and enjoy a variety of music. Sunset Lake also is home to craft fairs and other outdoor events throughout the year.
The Wildwoods “bikeability” is a must for many visiting the resort destination. An early morning bike ride along the 2.5-mile boardwalk is the perfect way to watch the sun rise over the ocean and take in the morning’s fresh sea breeze. The island also is home to whale-watching tours, birdwatching, and fishing opportunities.
Offering an impressive selection of indoor and outdoor venues of all styles and sizes, the Wildwoods Convention Center features more than 260,000-square feet of flexible indoor space, along with outdoor areas that
blend the natural beauty of the Wildwoods with the convenience and comfort of a state-of-the-art facility. The convention center’s outdoor spaces provide a seamless extension of its modern indoor amenities.
Additionally, the Wildwoods’ beaches and boardwalk host countless events every year, from custom hot rod shows, 5k runs, craft shows, and farmers’ markets to signature events like Barefoot Country Music Fest and the Wildwoods Airshow, National Marble Tournament, Wildwoods International Kite Festival, The Race of Gentlemen antique car races, and many more. Events also can be held at Morey’s Piers and Waterparks, and the Seaport Pier, adding a fun and unconventional element to any gathering.
Thrill-seekers will find exciting adventures and attractions on the Wildwoods’ boardwalk, including three amusement piers, two waterparks, shops, arcades, games, and eateries - truly offering something for everyone.
“In Hershey and Harrisburg, we like to say our region is a place where sweet adventures meet serious team building,” says Jenny McConnell, meetings and con-
ventions manager, Visit Hershey & Harrisburg. “You can fill your itinerary with worldclass coasters in the morning, kayak the Susquehanna River after lunch, and toast your teammates with a locally brewed pint or handcrafted bourbon by evening. Our destination pairs iconic attractions like Hersheypark and Chocolate World with trail networks, riverfront parks, and local breweries.”
Whether a group wants to paddle the Susquehanna, explore miles of scenic trails, or simply share a chocolate making experience, the Hershey Harrisburg Region offers experiences that bring people together, helping them to connect through fun, food, history, and the great outdoors.
“Our most memorable group experiences are rooted in the things that make our destination unlike anywhere else,” explains McConnell. “Chocolate-themed experiences celebrate the legacy of Milton Hershey, while our free Trails & Experiences app encourages
friendly competition as groups discover local sweet shops, scenic overlooks, hiking trails, and hidden gems throughout the region.”
Attendees can take sightseeing tours on the Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat, sample local craft beverages at locations on the Brew Barons Beer Trail, or explore the history of Pennsylvania’s Capital Region through the State Capitol and area museums.
“These authentic experiences give groups opportunities to connect while discovering the character of our destination,” McConnell declares.
Bringing the group together through team building and recreation, providing opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation, and creating memorable experiences can have a long-term positive impact on attendees. Q&A
Mid-Atlantic Events Magazine reached out to service providers along with venue and DMO representatives throughout the region to get their thoughts about what has them excited as autumn approaches.
We asked: What are you and your property/destination/organization looking forward to as the summer reaches its peak and with the approach of the fall season?
Here is some of what they shared.
“The Wildwoods are looking to continue the momentum and success of the 2024 and 2025 seasons that saw record-breaking revenues generated. While we are cautiously optimistic for the 2026 season, we are aware of the economic pressures facing the hospitality and tourism industry such as inflation, the rise in gas prices, and the change in consumer booking habits to shorter length of stays and shorter booking windows. We feel that the Wildwoods are well positioned to withstand these pressures by offering free beach access for all, moderate priced accommodations, free events and festivals, free outdoor concerts four nights weekly, free Friday Night Fireworks all season long, weekly family Movies Under The Stars, and many other attractions for families to enjoy at no cost.”

“One of the things we enjoy most is seeing how events evolve with the seasons. Summer brings outdoor company picnics, alumni gatherings, and social celebrations across the estate. As we move closer to fall, we are excited to welcome organizations for networking events, team building programs, client appreciation gatherings, and the return of our popular Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire feasts. Fall is a particularly vibrant time on the property, and we love helping groups create memorable experiences that bring people together in a setting that is both unique and relaxed.”

“As we reach the peak of summer, what we look forward to most is seeing our guests enjoy everything The Grand Hotel has to offer and creating lasting memories with their families. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching generations come together to relax, celebrate, and experience all that Cape May and the hotel has to offer.
As we move closer to fall, our excitement doesn’t slow down. One of the things we pride ourselves on is being a true year-round destination. While many think of Cape May as a summer getaway, fall brings its own charm with beautiful weather, seasonal events, weddings, conferences, and weekend escapes. No matter the season, there always is something special happening. As we like to say, it is always a Grand Day at the Beach!”

“As we move through the summer and look toward the fall, our entire team at Kalahari Conventions is excited for one of the most beautiful and energetic seasons in the Pocono Mountains. Many of our groups already are incorporating outdoor experiences into their programs, from hiking and team building to networking events that take advantage of the area’s stunning fall scenery.
Our culinary team also is busy developing seasonal menus that highlight the flavors of autumn, giving planners fresh and creative options for their events. Most of all, we are looking forward to welcoming our clients and helping them create memorable experiences that bring people together, both inside and outside the meeting room.”

“I’m excited about the transition in travel patterns and the opportunities each season brings. Summer creates a vibrant energy with strong leisure demand, while fall brings a unique charm to Delaware Countyfrom colorful foliage and crisp autumn days to local festivals, community events, and seasonal attractions that draw visitors to the area. “As summer ramps up and settles into fall, what I am most excited about is, ‘The After.’ When Philadelphia's landmark events - FIFA World Cup, America 250, and others - draw to a close, I believe businesses will finally get the chance to breathe. Once the pressure lifts, creativity flows, meeting professionals can step back and ask the best kind of question: How do we keep this energy and momentum going?
And now that Philadelphia has had its moment on the world stage, the possibilities are undeniable. People can see what this
city is truly capable of - the talent, the infrastructure, the hospitality. The next chapter for Philadelphia’s hospitality industry is not a slowdown - it is an invitation to lead. I personally hope to explore new partnerships, help our community create inspired experiences, and support the kind of innovative meetings that only happen when there is finally room to dream.”

“As the anticipation and buildup from all things 250th comes to a crescendo, I look forward to just soaking it all in and appreciating this time in our city, our industry, and our lives. It only comes around once in many of our lifetimes, and it is important to appreciate the community and the effort that so many put in to making it all happen. Then, once we catch our collective breath, I hope to use the momentum and the lessons learned to finish a strong year on a high note as we continue to serve our clients and grow our team.”

“There is something special about the changing seasons in Virginia’s Allegheny Mountains. Summer brings long days filled with outdoor adventure, family activities, and unforgettable moments, while fall transforms our landscape into a vibrant tapestry of color and crisp mountain air.
Summer is one of the most active and rewarding times to visit The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa. Guests can spend their days enjoying championship golf on The Cascades and the Old Course, horseback riding through scenic mountain trails, fly fishing with Orvis-trained guides, mountain biking, falconry, sporting clays, archery, and the exhilarating Ridge Runner Zip Tour. Families also can enjoy Allegheny Springs, our two-acre water park featuring waterslides, a lazy river, and our pools designed for all ages.
The Spa offers a tranquil retreat featuring the Serenity Garden, spring-fed pools, wellness experiences, and rejuvenating treatments inspired by our natural surroundings. Nearby, the historic Warm Springs Pools continue to attract visitors seeking the restorative benefits of the region’s mineral-rich, geothermal waters, a tradition that dates back centuries.
As America’s first resort, founded in 1766, this year carries special significance. Throughout 2026, guests can participate in daily celebrations recognizing the na-
tion’s 250th anniversary and the resort’s 260th. Each afternoon, our team hosts a festive birthday celebration complete with cake, special programming, and a tribute to the rich history that connects our resort to the story of America itself.
One of the greatest joys of The Homestead is creating memories that span generations. Daily history tours, afternoon tea, movie nights in Theater 1923, and outdoor recreation provide opportunities for families to spend time together. Many guests tell us they return year-after-year because of these traditions.
As summer gives way to autumn, the mountains surrounding the resort become one of the most spectacular destinations in the Mid-Atlantic. Vibrant reds, oranges, and golds create breathtaking views across the Allegheny Mountains, making fall one of our most popular seasons. Guests can enjoy scenic hikes, horseback rides, and golf amid stunning foliage, along with seasonal culinary experiences showcasing the flavors of Virginia.
One of the highlights of the season is our annual Fall Fest celebration, featuring live music, family-friendly activities, artisan workshops, culinary events, fireworks, and festive mountain traditions. From pumpkin decorating and wellness hikes to bourbon tastings and outdoor entertainment, Fall Fest offers something for every generation.

At the National Constitution Center, we are excited to help clients create events that go beyond a traditional gathering by incorporating our inspiring spaces, historic setting, and new interactive exhibits.
In 2026, NCC opened two new exhibits, renovated Signers’ Hall, and will open another small gallery in the fall. We love seeing clients eager to add these components to their event to create a special moment. We still are seeing people excited to continue the 250th celebrations as we round out this historic year!”

"The middle of summer in Atlantic City is filled with high energy and excitement. I am looking forward to our wide range of entertainment acts, like Shakira at Boardwalk Hall and the Rufus Du Sol beach concert in August. Alternatively, there are ways to wind down, and I enjoy relaxing summer activities like unwinding poolside, beachside, or on a boat cruise through the back bays. The end of the day is a perfect time to indulge in one of my summertime seaside favorites - soft shell crabs - at some of Atlantic City’s best local restaurants. Atlantic City isn’t just a place to stay, summer at the shore is a highly memorable experience for all your senses.”

“It has been an incredibly busy and historic year, with several major events taking place across the Greater Philadelphia region. As we move closer to fall, though, I always feel a renewed sense of energy - it often feels like the start of a new year. Kids are heading back to school, summer vacations are wrapping up, and it creates the perfect opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and partners throughout the industry.

“As we reach the peak of another busy summer season, our focus is on some of Philadelphia’s most significant moments as the city celebrates America 250. At Rhubarb Hospitality Collection Philadelphia, part of Oak View Group Hospitality, we are honored to create exceptional hospitality experiences within many of Philadelphia’s most iconic cultural and historic venues, and the months ahead represent an exciting chapter for our city.
Especially exciting, the Liberty Medal ceremony at the National Constitution Center during Independence Week is one of the nation’s most distinguished civic honors. The event brings global attention to Philadelphia and reflects the important role our city continues to play in celebrating the ideals of freedom, democracy, and service. It is an incredible privilege to support events that connect guests with our nation’s history at such a meaningful time.
This year also marks the 150th anniversary of Memorial Hall, home to Please Touch Museum. Originally constructed for the 1876 Centennial Exposition to commemorate America’s first 100 years, the building now stands as a remarkable bridge between our nation’s past and its future. The venue continues to experience tremendous demand for events, galas, nonprofit events, and corporate celebrations, including the 30th Anniversary Gala for Visit Philadelphia - a fitting celebration that brought together one of the city’s leading tourism organizations with one of its most historic landmarks.
We also are preparing for another extraordinary season with Ensemble Arts Philadelphia across the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and the Academy of Music. Building on an exceptional year that welcomed the MICHELIN Guide
Northeast Ceremony, TED Talks, and HISTORYTalks by The HISTORY Channel, we are proud to see Philadelphia continue attracting world-class events that inspire conversation and connection.
HISTORYTalks brought together all four of the living former U.S. Presidents - Joe Biden, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton - alongside global leaders, acclaimed historians, celebrated authors, athletes, entertainers, and cultural icons for a landmark event commemorating America's 250th anniversary. Experiences like these, combined with an impressive calendar of galas, performances, and private events, reinforce Philadelphia’s growing reputation as one of the nation’s premier destinations for culture, history, and hospitality.
As we look beyond the fall season, we are equally excited to begin welcoming guests for holiday celebrations across our portfolio of venues. From intimate corporate gatherings to grand year-end galas, the holidays are one of our favorite times of year to create memorable experiences. It is the perfect opportunity for organizations to celebrate their teams, clients, and communities, and we look forward to helping make those moments truly unforgettable.
The months ahead represent more than a busy event season - they showcase Philadelphia as a world-class destination for arts, culture, hospitality, and history. We are proud to partner with these incredible institutions, helping create memorable experiences while welcoming guests from across the region and around the world to experience everything our city has to offer.”

WHAT'S NEW
New York City’s hospitality landscape has more than 7,000 hotel rooms in development, with more than 2,500 rooms projected to come online in 2026. Following an extensive restoration, the reopening of the Waldorf Astoria New York is a significant recent addition, with 375 guest rooms and suites and 43,000-square feet of restored and modernized event space. Major renovations at existing properties continue to strengthen the City’s hotel product for meetings, conventions, and business events.
“We also are seeing continued investment in flexible meeting and event venues,” observes Jerry Cito, chief sales officer, New York City Tourism + Conventions. “Convene has expanded its New York City portfolio with the 72,000-square foot Convene 30 Hudson Yards, an expansion at 360 Madison Avenue, a fully refreshed 237 Park Avenue, and, most recently, Convene 555 Broadway, a 32,000-square foot venue in Soho.”
The combined Duggal Greenhouse and Brooklyn Fish Transfer campus at the Brooklyn Navy Yard is creating a 65,000-square foot waterfront event destination in Brooklyn. These additions build on the strength of larger convention venues like the Javits Center, with its new campaign - Javits on the Hudson - highlighting the venue’s waterfront location, sustainability, and role as a dynamic destination on Manhattan’s West Side supporting major conventions, trade shows and largescale events.
THINGS TO DO
As a meetings destination, one of New York City’s biggest advantages is that the attendee experience extends well beyond the meeting room. Attendees can see a Broadway or Off-Broadway show, visit worldclass museums and cultural institutions, experience live music and nightlife, explore iconic attractions, dine across nearly every cuisine, and spend time in neighborhoods across all five boroughs.
For business event professionals, that creates opportunities for pre- and post-meeting itineraries, client entertainment, incentive experiences, and off-site programming that feel distinctly New York City.
PLACES TO MEET
New York City offers an incredible range of meeting and event locations beyond traditional convention centers and hotel ballrooms. Convene’s portfolio includes 16 meeting and event locations across Manhattan, offering options ranging from executive meetings, conferences, receptions, and large-scale events.
Depending on the program, business event professionals can consider cultural institutions, museums, per-
forming arts venues, sports facilities, waterfront spaces, rooftops, and historic landmarks across all five boroughs. Examples include NY5000 and Level Ten NYC in Manhattan, Citi Field in Queens, Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden in Staten Island, the Bronx Zoo in the Bronx, and Industry City and Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Each offers a unique way to build an only-in-NYC experience around a meeting or event.

WHAT'S NEW
Westchester County continues to strengthen its appeal as a premier meetings and events destination through ongoing investment in its hospitality offerings. One of the most significant recent additions was the opening of Windrose on Hudson in Ossining in 2025, a newly transformed property bringing an elevated hospitality experience to the Hudson Valley. It features more than 12,000-square feet of flexible function space, including scenic outdoor venues overlooking the Hudson River.
The Kittle House Inn in Chappaqua, formerly known as Crabtree’s Kittle House Restaurant & Inn, is a historic property that has entered a new chapter with the relaunch of its acclaimed restaurant and the reopening of its inn accommodations - long recognized for its award-winning wine program, farm-to-table dining, and picturesque setting.
Westchester’s largest hotel, the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, features new experiential offerings, including an interactive golf simulator experience that has become popular as a team building activity and for social gatherings.
Another notable development is the rebranding of the former Sleepy Hollow Hotel in Tarrytown as a Dolce by Wyndham property.
A unique attraction for visitors in 2026 is Westchester County’s participation in the America 250 commemoration through its Rooted in Westchester initiative, which highlights the county’s pivotal role in the founding of the USA. As part of the celebration, visitors can experi-
ence “The Declaration Distributed: Westchester County’s Holt Broadside of 1776” at the Neuberger Museum of Art at Purchase College, State University of New York (SUNY), which features one of only a handful of surviving copies from printer John Holt’s 1776 print run following New York’s adoption of the Declaration of Independence.
The county’s culinary scene includes a steady stream of new openings and exciting developments. New from The Opus Hotel in White Plains, a modern speakeasy has arrived: Bar XI, a Portuguese and Japanese-inspired lounge nestled within the elegant Kanopi The Restaurant with a curated list of creative cocktails.
Westchester also is known for its breweries, distilleries, cideries, and tap rooms. With the Westchester Craft Beverage Trail, visitors can enjoy the region’s finest beverages from local artisans while earning points with the free mobile passport simply by checking in at participating venues.
THINGS TO DO
Groups can test their teamwork and build trust at Boundless Adventures, where participants climb, swing and zip through 11 aerial obstacle courses for all skill levels. Other popular options include: embarking on a scavenger hunt through downtown Rye with Watson Adventures; group curling lessons at Ardsley Curling Club; private charter experiences with NY Boat Co. in Peekskill; and group outings aboard Paddle Pub Westchester. “Take part in cooking classes at the world-renown ZWILLING Cooking Studio, or enjoy wine tastings, brewery and distillery tours, mixology events, and group dining at Westchester’s diverse restaurants and waterfront destinations. Interactive experiences like escape rooms, art workshops and other collaborative activities help build teamwork and engagement,” says Natasha Caputo, director, Westchester County Tourism & Film.
The county’s Historic Hudson Valley offers multiple historic sites that trace America’s past from Colonial days to the New Nation period. Washington Irving’s home, Sunnyside, is like a walk through the past. Here, book lovers will recognize the name of the author famed for characters like Rip Van Winkle and the Headless Horseman. Irving also invented the term “Knickerbocker,” which is the origin of the NBA World Champion New York Knicks’ namesake. There also are numerous places of significance that celebrate African American history and tradition along the African American History Trail.
PLACES TO MEET
Westchester County is home to an array of distinctive venues that offer memorable settings for meetings, retreats, corporate events and group outings, including: Abbey Inn & Spa in Peekskill; Westchester Marriott and the Tarrytown House Estate, both in Tarrytown; The Opus, Westchester and the Sonesta, both in White Plains.
Sleepy Hollow Hotel at Wyndham is a renowned performance venue, while the Capitol Theatre is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, blending the spirit of the 1920s silver screen with the energy of its revival as a live music and event venue. The 843-seat Tarrytown Music Hall has been restored, Westchester’s oldest theater and one of the finest examples of Queen Anne-style brickwork.
Additional theater options include the Paramount Hudson Valley Theater, a 1930s landmark, and The Picture House, one of the few surviving and operating singlescreen theaters in the country. In Katonah, Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts offers several distinctive event spaces, providing elegant settings for gatherings. Caramoor also offers access to the historic Rosen House, a Mediterranean-style villa that is the centerpiece of the estate.
