Little Egg Harbor Takes New Steps In Fight Against Addiction
By Kimberly Bosco LITTLE EGG HARBOR – Little Egg Harbor Township Police Department recently became the seventh department in Ocean County to join in on the Blue HART program for addiction recovery assistance, Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato announced. Little Egg Harbor is now joining Brick, Lacey, Manchester, Ocean Gate, Point Pleasant Borough, and Stafford police departments in this steadily growing program. The Blue HART program stands for Heroin Addiction Recovery Treatment. This program allows substance abusers to turn in their dangerous substances at participating police departments without any repercussions, where they can receive addiction treatment and recovery services. Little Egg Harbor began operating this program in mid-February but officially joined the program as of Feb. 28. The department will be working (Addiction - See Page 21)

Stafford Bonds For Nearly $5 Million For Township Improvements
By Kimberly Bosco STAFFORD – The Stafford Township council adopted an ordinance at the Feb. 27 meeting, appropriating $4,945,000, $4,697,750 of that amount in bonds, to finance various capital improvements and the purchase of capital equipment for the town. The bond ordinance labels these expenditures as “general improvements” to the township, noting that a down payment of $247,250 is required by Local Bond Law for the total sum of the appropriations. The remaining balance of $4,697,750 will be financed through bonds. “It’s not an exact number, but that’s how much we’re bonding for,” said (Improvements - See Page 16)
