EDITOR’S LETTER
from the editor
Each month we bring exciting stories of Snowmobiling and ORVing in Michigan. This month, I developed Covid/ flu virus and have been pretty much house bound for close to 3 weeks. My faithful canine companion really enjoyed the extra attention, but I am so glad to be well enough to get out and enjoy our great state again! So many things have been going on in our sport – hope you have great memories, plans and new ways to be involved.
Here’s a few highlights:
1. Soo I-500! After an unprecendented season of cancellations, the Grand-Daddy of Snowmobile racing ran again! This month’s Under the Helmet features Cadarette Racing. Owner Greg Cadarette and drivers Ryan Spencer and Troy Dewald. By the time this issue is distributed – our Under the Helmet teams will by hard at work getting ready for 2023! 2. In two different articles, Jim Duke discusses the potential legislation both at the state and national level that could impact our sport. He points out that of the Seven Million nationwide snowmobile riders, only 75,000 have any involvement with their local club or state organizations. I challenge our readers to become involved and make Michigan the leading exception to rider participation in club membership. Be informed, be involded and be heard – join one of the 132 snowmobiling clubs this state has to offer. 3. For dreaming and planning fun – make sure to read about Drummond Island, Yellowstone and Canada. Speaking of legislation, who ever thought travel between Michigan and Canada would be as limited as it has been for nearly 2 years. I miss our neighbors to the north. Perhaps another letter to our leaders in congress is in order. 4. Make sure to read about Operation Injured Soldiers. A non-profit organization committed to providing outdoor adventures to our recovering veterans and their families. Another great program to support.
I hope each of you is enjoying good health while dreaming of fun and opportunities in our pages! We look forward to seeing everyone at local events, at chapter meetings and volunteering in support of Michigan Snowmobiling and ORVs. Please remember to keep all our first responders in your thoughts and prayers.
As always at Michigan Snowmobiler and ORV please feel free to reach out to us. We love to hear from our readers. Be safe and enjoy the trails until our next issue:

So, I can say that without a doubt that the burgers were really good. The corn on the cob was awesome.
