EDITOR’S LETTER

At Michigan Snowmobiler and ORV we are enjoying the full fun of summer as we head into the month of August. Hope your plans include one of the amazing events Michigan has to offer. Check out the QR code on page 22 that will link you to MichigansBackyard.org for all sorts of great Michigan adventures. We sure love our state and it is our priviledge to bring you stories every month to motivate families to get out and have fun together in one of our many, beautiful trail systems.

Case in point, early this spring Scott and I spoke with a family from Dirt Dudes at Twisted Trails. I’ve honestly been looking forward to writing this editor letter since meeting this family. It’s families like them that make working for Michigan Snowmobiler and ORV so much fun.

This young family makes a commitment to spend most of their free time together riding, camping and having a blast together. I had a great conversation with the mom who mentioned they were getting ready to move in order to be closer to her husband’s job and to get into a better school system for their daughter. That’s commitment. After all, Mom’s and Dad’s are the original first responders for our future riders. These two parents sure seemed to have it figured out.

If my memory serves me correctly, the move was going to allow the family about an extra two to three hours per week together. The mom and dad had already spent quite a bit of time discussing which school in the area was going to be “the” new one. Important decisions being made in such a fun environment. Then, dad and daughter jumped into the side by side for pictures and perhaps another adventure as Scott and I left to head back into the office to create another issue. I wonder if they had any idea how much inspiration they provided. What a great day!

As you read through our issue and get great ideas for truly fun August adventures – keep our schools, parents and kids in your thoughts and prayers this month. We sure want our future riders safe and ready to keep our trails preserved, maintained and here for all the future generations to come.

As always at Michigan Snowmobiler and ORV, we hope this issue has our readers dreaming of fun! We look forward to seeing everyone at local events, chapter meetings and volunteering in support of Michigan Snowmobiling and ORVs. Please remember to keep our veterans and first responders in your thoughts and prayers.

Please feel free to reach out to us. We love to hear from our readers. Be safe and enjoy the trails until our next issue.
