What do you consider the biggest advantage of working with a REALTOR®? As a buyer it is important to have someone who is able to find pre market inventory. Good buyer’s agents see other agents as allies, more so than competition. We are continually asking about upcoming properties that may not be listed yet. Having a good buyer’s agent will greatly increase your odds of viewing those hard to find, quick selling properties. And more importantly, provide the market knowledge and negotiating skills to help you submit a winning bid.

As a seller it is absolutely vital to have a professional who knows how to price, prepare and market your property. In my opinion the real magic happens when your home is listed on the MLS (Multiple Listing Service). The MLS is only available to licensed real estate agents through paying dues. It is the most accurate and up-to-date source of local inventory. On a daily basis hundreds of local agents will eagerly comb through new listings in hopes of finding a match for their buyers. So, when you list with a real estate agent (MLS) you don’t just get one agent, you get every agent collectively working to match buyers with your property.

What is the most gratifying part of your job? I get to help people. And at the risk of sounding cliché, there are days that I get to help people’s dreams come true. But the truth is, there are many life events that can lead to a home sale or purchase, some are happy and some can be very sad and stressful. I’m always grateful that I am trusted to help.

Why did you decide to become a REALTOR®? It was intriguing to me ever since my first home purchase. I progressively became more intrigued after multiple sales and purchases, some of which have been investment properties. My first investment property I was able to purchase was with a home equity line of credit. The reality is that making my first home purchase has opened up some doors that would have never been opened. My belief in sharing that reality is why I’m a realtor.

Do you have a personal motto? One can never go wrong with the golden rule. You can’t expect people to always treat you the way you treat them, and sometimes that’s a good thing. We all make mistakes, move forward and are better because of it.

How do you keep your clients informed? Any and every way possible. Every client has their own preferences as far as how to communicate and timing of that communication. It is critical to set these expectations as soon as possible.

What do you like most about the Sioux Empire? The people and the opportunities.

What is one unique fact about yourself? I write left-handed but do almost everything else right-handed.

What would you tell your younger self? There’s not a whole lot that I would have tried to figure out differently because of how I was able to grow from those experiences. I must say it would have been nice to know that Amazon is going to be much more than just a book company.

What activities are you involved in? Camping, boating, fishing

What are you most proud of? My three kids

What’s your guilty pleasure? Movies based on true stories
