CHAP FANS,
Welcome to another season of Westlake Football at Chaparral Stadium and Ebbie Neptune Field. There is such pride in bringing together the band, Hyline, Cheerleaders, Technical Entertainment Crew, and the Football Team to make your Friday Night Football experience special after much work and sacrifice to stay healthy and socially distant while preparing for a new season. Our Westlake Nation community can be proud of all of our student-athletes as they represent the Chaparrals of Westlake High school with a heightened sense of commitment, dedication, and pride.
I begin my seventh season as Westlake’s Head Football Coach and EISD Athletic Director. As Athletic Director, I want to express how proud I am of my entire coaching staff who have had to adapt to implementing new standards to ensure our athletes stay safe. Our head coaches and assistant coaches are without question the most dedicated staff I have ever had the privilege of working alongside. Their commitment to excellence is unmatched.
It does weigh heavy on my heart as a head coach to know that this season is different than any other in the history of Westlake High School. Not all players get to play football after high school as less than 5% actually make it to the next level. My goal is to let these athletes have an amazing experience at Westlake High School.
This season we have been building a strong football program under adverse situations. Winning is hugely important anytime we step on the field. Added emphasis on the ability to play the great game of football because there are no guarantees for us during our uncertain times.
I am appreciative of all of the Westlake Fans who choose to support all our programs and cheer on the Chaps on to a winning season.
GO CHAPS!
