ACCESSIBLE RECREATION THEIR OPPORTUNITY
CANADIAN TIRE JUMPSTART
Their Opportunity is a grassroots charity in Durham that exists to provide low-income families (total household income of $45, 000 or less) with the means to enroll their children in organized sports and recreation programs. Additionally, within the 3 months of receiving funding, each child is mandated to “pay-it-forward” through their Giveback Program. Their program inspires hope while teaching essential life skills of teamwork and compassion; proving that only one change in a child’s life can create an opportunity for inspiration and change, while further impacting our community. For more information visit www.theiropportunity.com.
The Township of Scugog is a proud partner with the Canadian Tire Foundation for Families. This program helps financially disadvantaged kids in Canada ages 4 to 18 years, explore a range of sports and recreation options, by supporting over 70 different activities. In addition to enabling participation in high profile sports like hockey, soccer and swimming, Jumpstart also helps kids take dance lessons, martial arts, and ringette, or take part in any one of several other activities. What kids do is up to them; Jumpstart is here to help them do it! Jumpstart is proudly supported by the Canadian Tire Family of companies. Applications can be completed online at www.jumpstart.canadiantire.ca. If you require additional information or assistance, please call 1-844-YES-PLAY.
