MICHELLE JUNG’s paintings move between realism and abstraction. Her natural scenes become substrates of what is real and fantasy. In her new series, Flowers Have Feelings Too Jung pushes the color field further into another realm which creates a euphoric and sensual atmosphere. Jung holds a BA in Art History, and an MFA in Painting. Her work has been juried and exhibited at numerous museums including The Autry Museum of the American West, Pasadena Museum of California Art, Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, Mystic Seaport Museum, and Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art, to name a few. In 2021, Jung had her first solo museum exhibition at the Santa Paula Museum of Art in California, and in 2022 participated in her first residency at Cuttyhunk Island, Massachusetts. Michelle has earned the highest distinctions from the California Art Club, American Society of Marine Artists and the Guild of Boston Artists. She is also a member of the historic Salmagundi Club, and an Associate Living Master for the Art Renewal Center. Jung currently lives and works in Nevada and California.
