211 is a United Way program that provides free information and referral to human/social service agencies within Lee, Hendry, Glades and Okeechobee Counties. Clients can call and receive information and referrals appropriate to their needs.

Why is United Way 211 important?
United Way 211 exists to help people navigate their way through the maze of human and social services agencies by providing the most adequate resources for the client’s situation. This efficient process promotes prevention and self-sufficiency by giving the clients easy access to services they normally would not be aware of.
Who answers when I call?
Trained information and referral specialists will assess the client’s need and give appropriate referrals. Every call is completely confidential.
When can I call?
United Way 211 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This continuous coverage is made possible through a partnership with ACT – Abuse, Counseling & Treatment. English and Spanish languages are readily available. Remember! United Way 211 is for non-emergency assistance only; 211 may not be reached on some hotel, cell, or pay phones. Abuse Counseling & Treatment, Inc. (ACT)
ACT offers a 24-hour helpline, 3 safe shelters, children’s program, counseling, financial and health literacy, life skills education, job skills evaluation and training along with GED assistance and ESOL. In the non-residential outreach program, they provide longterm counseling, therapy and support, economic empowerment services, a rape crisis center, advocacy through the judicial system, and a legal program for Injunctions for Protection. Avow Hospice

Center for Progress and Excellence
Founded in 2017, the Center for Progress and Excellence Inc. provides comprehensive social and behavioral health services to the Southwest Florida region, in order to promote self-sufficiency and personal progress throughout the community, regardless of race, religion, gender, nationality, sexual orientation and economic status. Project Help
Project HELP is a state-certified Sexual Assault and Rape Recovery Crisis Center in Collier County. The agency also works with the Collier County Medical Examiner’s Office to quickly identify families and children that are affected by sudden death. Project HELP, Inc. has been providing counseling and advocacy to individuals affected by sexual violence and sudden death since 1986. The counseling services are multifaceted. Youth Haven
Youth Haven is Southwest Florida’s only emergency and residential shelter for boys and girls ages 6-18 who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. Children coming to Youth Haven are severely traumatized and in crisis. Youth Haven is an immediate lifeline of safety, love and compassion for innocent children in crisis and first step in a long journey back to trust, confidence and joy.
