B’grove School help NHS

Peter Clague, Headmaster of Bromsgrove School, along with a small number of remaining boarders and residential staff who are living in one household within the School campus, have produced by hand a staggering 815 face shields in the School’s DT department for frontline NHS staff tackling the Coronavirus.

Local school helps with mask-making task!

Former pupil Cllr Aled Luckman collected the first batch of shields for distribution and they are now in use on Ward 6 of the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch where Aled’s sister and former Head Girl is a junior doctor in Cardiology. Tracy Limbrick, a member of staff, and pupils have also been busy making 35 scrub bags.

More of Bromsgrove’s face shields are now being used to help protect staff across the region, from District Nurses, to Emergency departments and ICU. In addition, 290 pairs of goggles from various departments across the School have been delivered to County Hall for distribution wherever they are needed.

To date, the School has been able to help protect staff at:

Worcester Acute Care, ICU Worcester/ Redditch, Stourport Pharmacy, the X-Ray Dept at Worcester, UHB Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s Haemophilia Unit, Wyre Forest GP, Emergency Dept at QE Hospital, Jigsaw Medical – Paramedics, Children’s & Neonatal Unit, Worcester Royal Hospital, BHH ITU, NHS Staff Covid swabbing, Emergency Department at Newcross Hospital, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Winyates Health Centre, Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust, Primrose Hospice, Burcot Nursing Home, Wyre Forest GPs, Dudley GPs, local care home agencies, NHS GPs and nursing staff, local district nurses and workers in local community care.
