Oyster Perpetual Air-King —

L’Oyster Perpetual Air-King rend hommage aux pionniers de l’aviation et au rôle de l’Oyster dans l’épopée aérienne. Dotée d’un boîtier de 40 mm en acier 904L et d’un bracelet Oyster, la nouvelle Air-King est aussi fonctionnelle qu’intemporelle. Le cadran arbore le nom Air-King écrit dans les caractères créés spéciﬁquement pour ce modèle dans les années 1950. Actualisée pour l’utilisateur moderne mais conservant toute l’esthétique du modèle de l’époque, la nouvelle Oyster Perpetual Air-King perpétue l’héritage aéronautique de la Rolex Oyster originelle. L’Air-King est équipée du calibre 3131, un mouvement mécanique à remontage automatique entièrement développé et manufacturé par Rolex. The dial bears the name Air-King in the same lettering that was designed specially for the model in the 1950s. Updated for the modern wearer but in keeping with the aesthetics of the 1950s model, the new Oyster Perpetual Air-King perpetuates the aeronautical heritage of the original Rolex Oyster. The Air-King is equipped with Calibre 3131, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. Rolex Oyster 1/2 —

En 2016, Rolex fête les 90 ans de sa montre Oyster, la première montre-bracelet étanche au monde, qui dès 1926 permet à la marque de prendre une longueur d’avance sur la concurrence. Précise, robuste et fiable, l’Oyster est devenue le garde-temps de référence des explorateurs et pionniers en tout genre, dont les exploits ont contribué à forger le statut de cette montre légendaire. Aujourd’hui, Rolex renforce encore les critères de performance qui font des montres Oyster des Chronomètres Superlatifs. » Hans Wilsdorf, le fondateur de Rolex, avait une vision de l’horlogerie très en avance sur son temps. Convaincu que la montre-bracelet était l’avenir, il fit tout ce qui fut possible pour pallier les difficultés rencontrées par les premiers modèles mis sur le marché. Il raconte « Sans cesse, je répétais à mes collaborateurs techniques : ‹ Nous devons arriver à créer un boîtier dont l’étanchéité garantisse définitivement nos mouvements de précision contre les dégâts de la poussière, de la transpiration, de l’eau, du chaud et du froid. › » Le nom Oyster pour sa montre apparut comme une évidence à Hans Wilsdorf. En 1945, il explique à ce sujet : « Le fait qu’à l’instar d’une huître elle peut vivre dans l’eau un temps illimité sans subir aucun dommage dans son organisme m’inspira ce nom de ‹ Rolex Oyster › sous lequel elle est devenue célèbre en tous pays. » Il se montre encore plus explicite lors du discours de présentation de sa fameuse invention en 1927 : « L’huître est une gardienne de maison modèle et ne tolère absolument aucune poussière ou autre impureté. » — In 2016, Rolex is celebrating the 90th anniversary of the launch of its Oyster watch, the world’s first waterproof wristwatch, a model that in 1926 put the brand well ahead of the competition. The accurate, sturdy and reliable Oyster became the benchmark timepiece for explorers and pioneers of all kinds, whose feats have contributed to forging the reputation of this legendary watch. Rolex is now reinforcing the performance criteria that make Oyster watches authentic Superlative Chronometers. Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf had a vision of watchmaking that was also a big step ahead of his time. Convinced that the wristwatch was the future of the industry, he did all he could to resolve the difficulties encountered by the first models introduced on the market. As he tells the story, “I repeatedly nagged my technical staff to produce a case so tight that our high-precision movements will be permanently guaranteed against damage caused by dust, perspiration, water, heat and cold.” Naming his watch “Oyster” seemed an obvious choice of Hans Wilsdorf. In 1945, he explained why: “The fact that it can — like an oyster — remain an unlimited time under water without detriment to its parts inspired the name ‘Rolex Oyster’ with which it gained fame around the world.” He was even more explicit in the presentation speech for his famous invention in 1927: “The oyster is an ideal housekeeper and refuses to tolerate any dust or other impurities.”

Rolex Oyster 2/2 —

Rolex n’a jamais cessé depuis d’innover et de repousser les limites de ce que l’on pensait possible en horlogerie, conservant toujours depuis 90 ans une longueur d’avance pour concrétiser la vision de son fondateur : fabriquer avec un savoir-faire unique des montres-bracelets aux performances exceptionnelles. Sur la base de l’Oyster Perpetual, Rolex a développé au cours des décennies une véritable collection de montres, chaque nouveau modèle répondant à des besoins et des utilisations spécifiques. En 1945, Rolex lance une Oyster Perpetual de grand prestige en or, avec un affichage innovant de la date dans un guichet à 3 h sur le cadran : la Datejust. Cartier Drive —

Début d’année 2016, Cartier dévoile un tout nouveau modèle la montre Drive de Cartier, la montre du gentleman-driver par excellence. Une montre chic, élégante et intemporelle. De forme atypique, ni vraiment ronde, ni vraiment carrée, son boîtier, d’or rose ou d’acier, est doté d’un cadran guilloché noir, gris ou blanc parcouru de chiffres romains et d’aiguilles glaive. Le fond transparent laisse percevoir le mouvement Manufacture 1904 MC. Disponible dans deux versions dont une dotée d’un second fuseau horaire et d’un indicateur jour et nuit, elle existe aussi dans une version Haute Horlogerie certifiée Poinçon de Genève, équipée du tourbillon volant 9452 MC. Les finitions, elles, sont satinées brut pour les côtés et polies pour le dessus et le dessous. Les unes destinées à affirmer le volume, les autres, à l’affiner. Courbes tendues et raffinement des lignes construisent une identité de style, élégante et moderne, expression du vocabulaire Cartier. A chic, elegant and timeless model. Neither truly round nor square, its atypically shaped steel or pink gold case frames a black, grey or white guilloché dial bearing Roman numerals swept over by sword-type hands. The transparent case-back reveals the Manufacture 1904 MC movement. Available in two versions including one with a dual-time display and a day/night indicator, the Drive de Cartier watch also comes in a Hallmark of Geneva-certified Fine Watchmaking version, equipped with the 9452 MC flying tourbillon calibre. The sides feature a textured satin finish that accentuates the volume, while the top and bottom are finely polished to enhance the overall slimness. Mouvement, perspective, jeux d’optique, voici les promesses d’Hypnose, le nouveau grand classique horloger de la maison Cartier. Avec cette collection, Cartier donne vie à une silhouette ovale dont les courbes féminines sont soulignées à la lumière des diamants. Big Bang Broderie Sugar Skull 41 MM —

Fidèle à son principe de fusion, Hublot réunit, dans sa Big Bang Broderie Sugar Skull, la tradition artisanale et la technologie du XXIe siècle. Maître dans l’art des associations atypiques et surprenantes, Hublot émancipe la broderie de son champ traditionnel de la haute couture, de la mode et de la lingerie pour en habiller sa célèbre Big Bang. Pour l’occasion, la Manufacture suisse a travaillé avec le magicien de la broderie helvétique : la Maison Bischoff. Résultat : un motif de tête de mort sur un cadran rehaussé de 12 spinelles rouges, motif accompagné d’arabesques sur le bracelet qui font la part belle aux insolentes associations de couleurs : turquoise, marine, rose pâle, fuchsia, jaune, orange, violet… illuminés de fils de Lurex. Un exercice de style remarquablement mis en valeur par la puissance et la sobriété de la céramique noire qui en habille le boîtier de 41 mm et sa lunette sertie de 36 spinelles rouges. Les Big Bang Broderie Sugar Skull se déclinent également en acier et saphirs roses, et or rouge et saphirs bleus. — Loyal to its fusion principle, Hublot unites hand-crafted tradition with 21st century technologies in its Big Bang Broderie Sugar Skull. A master in the art of atypical and surprising associations, Hublot emancipates embroidery from its traditional field of Haute Couture, fashion and lingerie, by using this dainty technique to adorn its famous Big Bang. On this occasion, the Swiss Manufacture worked with the Swiss embroidery magicians, Bischoff. The result is a skull motif on a dial enhanced by 12 red spinels, a motif accompanied by arabesques on the strap featuring daring colour associations — such as turquoise, navy blue, pale pink, fuchsia, yellow, orange and purple — lit up by Lurex threads. A stylistic exercise admirably highlighted by the understated black ceramic of its 41 mm case and its bezel set with 36 red spinels. The Big Bang Broderie Sugar Skull also comes in a steel version with pink sapphires or a red gold variation with blue sapphires. 28

Agréé par nos différentes marques partenaires, notre atelier d’horlogerie se chargera de l’entretien périodique de votre montre. Afin de garder votre montre en parfait état de marche, nous vous recommandons de faire contrôler son mouvement tous les cinq ans. Cette intervention comprend une révision complète du mouvement, avec démontage, nettoyage et contrôle de toutes les pièces, remplacement des composants usagés, réassemblage, lubrification et réglage, ainsi qu’un échange de la pile pour les modèles électroniques. La révision complète englobe également un démontage, un nettoyage et un polissage très soigneux du boîtier et, le cas échéant, du bracelet métallique ainsi que le remplacement de tous les joints d’étanchéité. Pour un mouvement à quartz, le temps de vie normale d’une pile est d’une année à une année et demie. Il est important que vous fassiez contrôler votre montre par un atelier d’horlogerie agréé afin que ce dernier soit en mesure de changer les joints et contrôler l’étanchéité après toute intervention sur votre montre. — Duly authorised by our various partner brands, our watchmaking workshop will handle the periodic maintenance of your watch. In order to keep the latter in perfect working order, we recommend having its movement checked every five years. This intervention comprises a complete overhaul of the movement, taking it apart, cleaning and checking all components, replacing worn components, reassembling, lubricating and adjusting, as well as changing the battery for quartz models. The complete overhaul also includes taking the case apart, thorough cleaning and careful polishing of both the case and bracelet, as well as replacing all the waterproofing seals. For a quartz movement, a normal battery life corresponds to around a year and a half. It is important that you have your watch checked by an authorised watchmaking workshop so as to ensure that the latter is capable of changing the gaskets and checking water resistance after performing any operation on your watch. 36
