This project tackles the problem of empty industrial buildings and sites in Chicago. By trying to pick up existing elements found in the city and on site, translated as city imprints and industrial imprints, this project values existing industrial buildings and remembers the parts that are gone by creating something new. On the one side with have an industrial concrete structure that will be paired with a modern timbre structure that is housing flexible residential units. An industrial area that was inaccasible by the public for decades should now be reconverted into a mixed-used residential area.

This project is a reconversion of an old industrial distribution center in the town of Leuven into a place for theater and cultural events. The challenge was to fit the given program into the building without changing its outside shape and figuring out how modern technical and mechanical neccessities fit into the existing structure. The end product was a 5x2,5 meters wide printed persepctive section through the building.

Fascinated by the linearity of the ruins of Lasany in the Italian alps, this artist residency is roofing the ruins, playing with the old and new, the untamed nature and the manmade craftsmanship, forming a space for creating and exhibiting art. Situated at around 2000 meters above sea level this project is trying to be autarc with a gas stove, a wood fire place and solar panels. The stone walls that have been affected by the weather for decades are receiving a wooden roof to protect them from further decay but otherwise untouched to keep the originality of it.

With the need of Brussels trying to modernize the city after the second world war the car came into focus of city planers. This widely outdated multi-story parking lot that often is half empty serves as the perfect spot to overcome the hilly topography of Brussels by partly demolishing it and creating a new park on the remains, while still be able to use parts as parking as it is now. The existing concrete structure serves as structural and design element.

The project creates a connection between the city level and the level of the - for the public normally inaccessible - canal in Brussels with the help of a floating platform on which a wooden modular structure serves as a place to access, to rest, to get a view.
