What’s Stompin’, Redbulls?

BOO! It’s officially spooky season! I have only recently started to like fall, but now I’m an autumn fanatic–orange leaves, pumpkin patches, Halloween, and PSL’s are staples of Halloween and fall season.

Speaking of staples of fall season, it’s time to get hyped for Fall Rally! Spirit gear is on sale NOW, so order yours before the deadline on October 13! We have lots of new spirit gear this year, so make sure to check out our discounted SPIRIT PACK! Show your spirit at on November 12 at Six Flags!

Lastly, it’s season! I encourage every club to participate this year–it’s super simple and you can easily reach out to your club presidents about getting started.

I hope you enjoy this very BULLetin!

On August 3rd, a few members of our Key Club went downtown to the San Diego Rescue Mission to help sort donations. The San Diego Rescue Mission is a non-profit homeless shelter and recovery center that helps thousands of men, women, and children who are experiencing homelessness in San Diego. They recently received lots of clothing donations and needed help organizing them. Before we started sorting donations, we were given a tour of the building and got to see how the shelter was helping people. As we got our work started, we helped sort out the clothing by the type of clothing and their sizes. There were various clothes such as jeans, shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and shoes. After we sorted out the clothes, we helped hang clothing in the large closet which looked like a small clothing store filled with clothing. Overall, this was a great opportunity to see how homeless shelters operate and help out the community!

During the Balboa 8-Miler race, Mt. Carmel key club was responsible for one of the water station, where we had to set up table and water cups, hand the water and drinks to runners, and clean up the roads. Volunteering at the water station helped runners, because without hard working volunteers, their experience in the race wouldn't have been as enjoyable. Not only was it a pleasure to see the gratitude of runners as they grabbed for a cup of water, but this was also an amazing opportunity to bond with other members in the club. Being an underclassmen representative, and new to my position, I made sure to get as many of my friends involved, and everyone had a great time. One of the main things I took away from this service event was organization. When we first got there, we had to organize the tables and cups as time-efficient as possible, and it wouldn't have worked out if we didn't have a plan in mind. Even in the midst of chaos, where water was running low, and runners were coming quickly, we had to use our time wisely and fill up as many cups as we could. It was definitely a learning experience for all of us, but we all had fun watching the joy of runners!

CANYON CREST: Olympicnic!

I attended the Olympicnic event where I got to enjoy the picnic with many other people. We were able to raise money for the Pediatric Trauma Program and socialize. The event was extremely enjoyable because I got to talk to Key Club members from other schools, participate in activities, and enjoy food, all while raising money for a good cause. Overall, this event was great because I felt a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment while raising money and selling food as well as personal enjoyment.

Torrey Pines: Library BRP

Being a part of the Mira Mesa Library book project was definitely worth it. During this project, we discussed modern novels, socialized with other key club members, crafted the “perfect self art”, and reflected on our self-image. The process and the discussions were fun and beyond meaningful.

I participated in Zooniverse: Snapshot Karoo, which is a virtual event. In this event, I identified wildlife that is native to Africa by observing snapshots of images taken of the animals by an automatic camera. To correctly categorized the animal I chose for a selection of indicators in order to narrow down what species the animal was from. I enjoyed this event as it was extremely convenient, and I could complete it at home or whenever I had free time.

WESTVIEW: Olympicnic!

This volunteering event was full of activities. Since it was at Kit Carson Park, there was plenty of space for games and gatherings. We began by buying tickets to get food from different divisions. The food was delicious, and the members were so nice. After that, we met with our division and discussed future events which was a great way to connect with members from other schools. I also got to learn about all the goals that our division has accomplished in this past year. Finally, we ended the olympicnic by doing some friendly competition! This event was a great way to start the school year and I can’t wait to have meetings with the other key clubbers at Westview.

CCHS: Free Rice

I participated in the Freerice service project where students answer simple trivia questions. Although the service project is relatively simple compared to other ones I have completed, this work was still enjoyable and impactful. Even with school starting and things becoming more busy, I appreciated the fact I continued to engage myself while making a difference. I am grateful for this virtual service opportunity and I hope to continue participating in projects similar to this one!

POWAY

This month we did are best to do charity miles. I know it stopped at August 15th but I tried my best to remember to always open the app on in the days that I would walk a lot that day. I like walking every weekend to stroll around shopping centers. It takes about four hours each time we go to a shopping center, so it was always good opportunities to open the charity miles app and record. But most of the time I always forget to open the app, so when I'm half way in walking, I only get about only a hour or so of miles. But in the end I liked competing even though I know I'm not going to win.

Fall Rally is an annual District-wide event. Members from all over the CNH District gather at their respective Six Flags to celebrate a year of service and fundraising. Proceeds from Fall Rally Tickets are donated to PTP.

At FRN & FRS, we celebrate the milestones that our District has made with fundraising for the Pediatric Trauma Program! Your division has the opportunity to auction for different District Board members and LTG’s with your PTP funds as a fun incentive.

For CNH, Fall Rally takes place at two Six Flags locations. D37S will be attending Fall Rally South: November 12, 2022 Fall Rally South, Six Flags Magic Mountain Session 4 (3 PM) Rally Time

WHY IS PTP SO IMPORTANT?

● We are raising funds that will be allocated to resources that will educate parents and other adults about childhood trauma prevention.

● Funds are given to hospitals with children’s units so that we can support their efforts in healing children!
