Indiana University Kokomo’s innovative student tuition discount program, which rewards students for progressing towards graduating in four years, has been included on the U.S. Department of Education’s list titled: “Promising and Practical Strategies to Increase Postsecondary Success.” The Student Success Tuition Discount is one of 108 innovative programs featured on the federal website, highlighting plans expected to improve rates of post secondary academic success in colleges and universities nationwide. Chancellor Michael Harris is proud to have IU Kokomo’s cutting-edge program included in the list.

“Academic excellence and student success is at the heart of everything we do,” Harris said. “We are thinking strategically and intentionally about how we can provide relevant world-class IU degrees, and how our students can earn them in a timely manner in order to be successful and have successful careers and a meaningful life. This recognition encourages us to continue to be innovative.” The Student Success Tuition Discount rewards students who commit to taking 30 credit hours per year with discounted tuition. The savings begins with 20 percent sophomore year, 30 percent junior year, and 40 percent senior year, for a total discount equivalent to one year’s full tuition. The American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) nominated the program to be included in the Department of Education’s list.
