Indiana University Kokomo has announced a $1.25 million gift from the family of Milt and Jean Cole, owners of Cole Hardwood in Logansport, to support construction of a wellness and fitness center on campus. The largest gift in the school's history will be used to transform unused space beneath the library in the Kelley Student Center into a 20,500-square-foot health center that include a jogging/walking track, cardio and strength training area, a health studies classroom, and locker rooms. The new center also will make it possible for the school to expand allied health programs such as sports medicine and athletic training. "Words cannot express how deeply grateful and appreciative we are as a campus for this incredibly generous donation," said IUK chancellor Michael Harris. "The Cole family's commitment to making the wellness and fitness center a reality will benefit the students of north central Indiana for years to come."
