If a ship is at sea and a storm hits, where do the sailors look? While some might look out at the waves or stare bewildered at the gathering clouds, most will look to the captain. Is she freaking out or does she seem calm? What orders is he giving? When things get rocky, you need a captain who can lead the way and show you what to do. A good captain knows how to hold the course despite heavy seas and strong opposing winds. The same is true for your leadership in a group. The members will look to you and your example. Do you share honestly? Do you own your stuff? Are you real and authentic when life gets a little rocky? You set the tone for the rest of the group.
