Program Note: Running Late is an overdramatic example of what happens when someone is running late for work.
Performance Notes: Unless specifically notated, the voice is usually spoken. The placement of the crossed noteheads represents relative rising and falling of undefined pitch. This piece requires the performer to be theatrical in addition to speaking. The theatrical material is indicated above the staff in bold font. The "barlines" on the second and fifth system have no significant meaning other than to differentiate the theatrical events and vocal lines more clear.
