Theme Camp Descriptions Art Madness

Location: Community Center Week 5: July 10 - 14 This week will allow campers to explore different ways to produce their own creative ART. Children will have access to different mediums to create masterpieces as they are learning different techniques throughout the week. Children will also have the opportunity to learn print making, canvas art, sculpture making, nature art, directive drawing and much more. This is not your ordinary art camp.

With more access than ever to digital distraction, social media, social pressure in school, and self-image issues, regular exercise has never been more important.

This program focuses on teaching safe movement patterns, focusing on Primal Movement Patterns (Squat, Bend, Lunge, Push, Pull, Twist, and Gait) in a small group, pressure free environment. Kids will learn the basics of eating whole foods, as well as interacting with one another in a supportive environment.

The Aquatic Center has teamed up with the American Red Cross to offer Learn to Swim Program. Participants must preregister for all the classes.

To Register: Residents may register two weeks before class. Nonresidents one week before class. (based on availability)

(Infant & Parent Aquatics Program)

6 months to 3 years (one Child per parent) Younger children will adjust to the water by learning skills such as placing the face in the water, flutter kicks and pre-floating skills. All Parents are taught how to instruct their children and recognize any errors in their child’s swimming technique. Children are required to wear swim diapers. Parents must be in the water with their children. Instructors will work at the skill level of each child regardless of varied abilities.

Eagle Aquatics Swim Team Our team is a year round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities.

Our goal is to create a safe, friendly and fun environment that nurtures the competitive spirit of club/team swimming, such that all swimmers can achieve their highest personal and athletic potentials.

In addition to great physical benefits of swimming we teach proper technique, racing strategy, personal discipline, mental toughness and team spirit. We provide a positive environment that encourages positive role modeling, selfmotivation, personal accountability and pride in winning and losing.

The number of practice days is determined by the coach’s recommendations. All youth interested in competitive swimming are invited to try-out.

Tot Lot Playground Located at 10015 Park Drive Hours Monday-Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - Sunset Sunday: 12 Noon-Sunset This facility is available for use by Miami Shores residents. It was built and is maintained to provide a fun and safe play area for children. Children must be supervised at all times. Please bring proof of residency.

BATHROOM KEYS: AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER FOR $10.

MUST SHOW PROOF OF MIAMI SHORES RESIDENCY TOT LOT PAVILION The pavilion is available for rental to residents for birthday parties or picnics. The tot lot area will be open to the public.

No alcoholic beverages are permitted.
