Athina y Eduardo Marturet se han convertido a través de los años en una de las parejas más sólidas y admiradas por nuestra comunidad hispana. Desde nuestro editorial online en el 2014 para Miamifashionspotlight.org, “Cuando Eduardo Conoció a Athina” quedamos enganchados con ellos. Hemos seguido a Athina a través de las alfombras rojas más importantes de la ciudad, con piezas exclusivas que han hecho “Fashion Statements” en muchas portadas, luciendo diseños de la casa Dior, Burberry y Tory Burch, entre otros. Siendo vestida también, por nuestros diseñadores locales de gran renombre, transmitiendo empoderamiento femenino un outfit a la vez. Por su lado, el maestro Marturet, nos ha deleitado con la conducción y dirección de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Miami (MISO) con conciertos que quedarán para siempre en nuestras memorias, tales como: “Beethovenmania”, “Golden Sounds from Hollywood,” “Ocean Drive from Vienna” y el inolvidable concierto “50 Years of the Beatles Arrival in Miami,” entre muchos otros. En definitiva, esta pareja se ha convertido en patrimonio de nuestra ciudad, sembrando cultura, moda, música y amor por nuestra naturaleza aún en estos tiempos postpandemia.

Athina and Eduardo Marturet have become one of the strongest and most admired couples in our Hispanic community over the years. Since our online editorial “When Eduardo Met Athina” was released in 2014 for Miamifashionspotlight.org, we were hooked on them.

We have followed Athina through the most important red carpets in the city, wearing exclusive pieces that have made ‘Fashion Statements’ on many covers. We have also witnessed her wearing designs by Dior, Burberry, and Tory Burch, among others. Our renowned local designers have also dressed her to convey female empowerment using one outfit at a time. For his part, maestro Marturet has delighted us with the conduction and direction of the Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO) with concerts that will remain forever in our memory. Concerts such as: “Beethovenmania”, “Golden Sounds from Hollywood,” “Ocean Drive from Vienna”, and the unforgettable concert “50 Years of the Beatles Arrival in Miami,” among many others. This couple has become our city’s heritage, sowing culture, fashion, music, and love for nature even in these post-pandemic times.

Me gustaría comenzar mi primera carta diciéndoles que he comprobado una y otra vez, que todo comienza con una idea y que de allí en adelante nosotros decidimos a través de nuestra perseverancia como hacerla realidad. Somos lo que pensamos a diario y nos convertimos en lo que somos capaces de hacer, cuando vencemos nuestros temores.

El fracaso no existe, siempre aprendemos cosas nuevas, aún cuando pensamos que no obtenemos los resultados deseados. Solo sé que finalmente estamos aquí, en la cristalización de otra meta, que tomó años en hacerse realidad, pero ahora lo entiendo todo, necesitaba la experiencia.

Miami es una ciudad que me ha abierto sus puertas desde el primer día que llegué, encontrando en ella mi llamado, a través de mi pasión por escribir y por la moda. Con orgullo la he visto crecer, al igual que he visto expandirse a muchos diseñadores locales, con los que he compartido gratos momentos de creatividad, que nos han servido para enfocarnos más en nuestras metas y engrandecer nuestra experiencia. Y es que de eso se trata la vida, de continuar, de progresar, de seguir aprendiendo, nunca se detiene, el cambio es la constante.

La producción de esta edición ha sido uno de los placeres más grandes de mi vida. El cual he disfrutado desde sus primeros pasos; desde esa primera reunión con los Marturet en un ameno almuerzo en el Miami Design District, pasando por la planificación de cada una de sus páginas, con ese gran talento que encontré en nuestro director artístico, Sergio Jaua, en Toronto, contando con el apoyo incondicional de nuestro fotógrafo y gran amigo, Humberto Vidal. Por supuesto incluyendo cada conversación nocturna con quien siempre está dispuesto a escucharme en estos temas, mi esposo, Frank Diaz.

He visualizado esta revista muchas veces antes de llegar aquí, desde la fundación de Miami Fashion Spotlight, El Fashion Blog, hace 10 años, hasta hoy, nunca salió de mi mente, simplemente evolucionó y esa misma visión me ayudó a atravesar momentos cruciales, al tener que posponer todo por la cuarentena, quedándose arraigada en mi mente aún en tiempos de pandemia, tan solo esperando en silencio el momento oportuno, para resurgir con fuerza, en un gran “es ahora o nunca”.

Los invito a disfrutar de sus páginas y a conectar con cada uno de sus creadores, tiene mucha moda, y lo que acontece en esta industria, encontrarán muchos artículos y consejos interesantes que continuarán guiándolos hacia nuestro blog para más información.

Tiene también mucho de nosotros los hispanos y de nuestra manera de ver las cosas, de cómo creamos nuestro propio estilo, adaptándolo a las circunstancias. Tiene mucho de Miami y su gente; créanme somos únicos y nos gusta hacer todo a una manera muy nuestra. Así es esta revista, espero que la hagan parte de ustedes también.

Nuestro equipo y esta servidora hemos decidido que esta edición sea especial, enfocándonos en los Amantes de la Naturaleza, porque consideramos que estamos en proceso hacia un mundo mejor, con productos sostenibles y aunque sea poco a poco, tenemos la certeza de que la concientización ha comenzado hacia la protección de este hermoso planeta en que vivimos.

Me gustaría dedicar esta edición a dos seres que perdí durante el proceso creativo de esta revista, mi querida tía Amalia (mi número uno) y a mi amado padre Sergio Rondón, quienes sé que continúan allí en un plano espiritual, dándole fuerza e inspiración a mi vida.

I want to begin my first letter by saying that I have proven again that everything starts with an idea, and from then on, we decide through our perseverance how to make it come true. We are what we think every day, and we become what we can do when we overcome our fears.

Failure does not exist. We always learn new things, even when we think that we are not obtaining the desired results. I know that we are finally here, in the crystallization of another goal, one which took years to come true.

Now, I understand everything, and I know that I needed the experience.

Miami is a city that has opened its doors to me since the first day I arrived. I have found in here my calling through my passion for writing and fashion. I am proud to have seen this city grow, as I have seen many local designers expand. I have shared many pleasant moments of creativity that have helped us focus more on our goals and enhance our experience. And that’s what life is about, evolving, progressing, and continuous learning. It never stops; change is the constant.

The production of this edition has been one of the greatest pleasures of my life. Since its first steps, I have enjoyed it. Starting with the first lunch meeting with Athina and Eduardo Marturet at the Miami Design District.

Then going through the planning of every page with the incredible talent that I found in our Art Director, Sergio Jaua, in Toronto was also a pleasure.

Also, the unconditional support of our photographer and great friend, Humberto Vidal. Of course, I must include my partner of every latenight conversation, who is always willing to listen to me on these issues, my husband, Frank Diaz.

I have visualized this magazine many times before, since the founding of Miami Fashion Spotlight, the Fashion blog, ten years ago. Until today, it never left my mind. It just evolved, and that vision helped me go through crucial moments, such as when I had to postpone it due to the quarantine. This magazine remained ingrained in my mind even in times of pandemic, just silently waiting for the right moment to resurface with force, in a great “it is now or never”.

I would like to invite you to enjoy its pages and to connect with each of its creators. There are many fashion happenings in the industry and many more interesting articles and tips that will continue to guide you to our blog for more.

The magazine also features us Hispanics and our way of seeing things. It speaks of how we create our style. It says a lot about Miami and its people, how unique we are, and how we like to do everything in our way.

This is how this magazine is, and I hope you make it part of your life.

Our team and I have decided that this special edition will be focusing on Nature Lovers. This is because we consider that we are gradually approaching a better world. With sustainable products and even little by little, we are confident that this awareness has started towards protecting this beautiful planet we live on.

I would like to dedicate this issue to two incredible human beings that I lost during the creative process of this magazine. My dear aunt, Amalia (“my number one”) and my beloved father, Sergio Rondon, whom I know are still there on a spiritual level, giving strength and inspiration to my life.

Comenzando con nuestra cobertura del concierto “Salute the Heroes” que se llevó a cabo en el Hotel Biltmore, en Coral Gables. Este evento al aire libre estuvo dedicado a la celebración de los trabajadores de la salud. Encontrándose en la audiencia VIP, el fotógrafo celebridad Bruce Webber, quien fue agasajado durante este concierto junto a otros invitados, que se encontraban también de cumpleaños.

Starting with our coverage of “The New Beginning Concert- Salute the Heroes” held at the Biltmore Hotel. The outdoor event was dedicated to the celebration of local health workers. Celebrity photographer Bruce Webber was also celebrated at the event with some other guests as it was their birthday.

Also, we have magical views of the river from the nature-themed event “Symphony in Green”. The Miami Symphony Orchestra, MISO, and the “Plant the Future” Organization held the fundraising event for “The Bioceno Concert”. It was targeted at reminding people of the importance of nature and planting trees.

Another outdoor event hosted by Miami Symphony Orchestra in conjunction with Maestro Eduardo Maturet was the fashionable “Music in Paradise” concert held at Miami Design District. The theme of the event was Hollywood movies, and a few pop songs

Pasamos también por el fabuloso lanzamiento de “Supal 20” en Soho Miami Beach; donde se celebró el lanzamiento del suplemento nutricional “Supal 20”, que es un suplemento beneficioso para todas las edades. Un gran logro para Andrés Garzón, el CEO de la marca y una experiencia como ninguna para los invitados que asistieron.

The “Supal 20” is a nutritional supplement that is suitable and beneficial for all ages. It was a great achievement for Andrés Garzón, the CEO of the brand. And for the guests in attendance, it was a wonderful experience.

en Collins Park en South Beach, que se llevó a cabo principalmente para recaudar fondos para la fundación “Give Back to the Equestrians”, ya que contó con un partido de polo entre celebridades para apoyar la causa. También estuvieron presentes muchos jugadores de polo reconocidos en el mundo; un evento súper divertido.

Como fervientes seguidores que apoyamos nuestra comunidad, también cubrimos los premios “Tacarigua de Oro” en Doral y el Trunk Show de SunTouch Miami (un íntimo Trunk Show apoyado por muchas influencers latinas), solo para tomar un pequeño descanso.

We were also at the amazing “World Polo League Beach Polo” event held in Collins Park in South Beach. It was held majorly to raise funds for the “Give Back to the Equestrians” foundation as it featured a polo match between celebrities to support the cause. Many recognized polo players in the world were also present. It was a fun but enlightening event.

As ardent supporters of our community, we also covered the “Tacarigua de Oro” Awards at Doral and the Trunk Show of SunTouch Miami (an intimate trunk show with many Hispanic influences), just to take a small break.

En los premios “Tacarigua de Oro” se llevó a cabo un homenaje a los talentos de la industria del entretenimiento que han hecho de Miami la “Ciudad Mágica”, contando con la asistencia de reconocidas figuras de la industria y celebridades hispanas quienes también fueron galardonados. En general, estos dos eventos fueron muy coloridos y con mucha moda.

De todas nuestras coberturas, la más fascinante fue la del Miami Swim Week 2021, convirtiéndose en el punto culminante del verano. The “Tacarigua de Oro” Awards event was held as a tribute to the talents in the entertainment industry who have made Miami the “Magic City”. It was well attended by renowned figures of the industry and Hispanic celebrities who received awards also.

Of all the events, the fascinating world of Miami Swim Week 2021 was the highlight of summer. It featured a large variety of swimwear and resort wear collections from different designers and upcoming designers also. Many people were in attendance and, it was an epic comeback after spending the last year attending online events from home.

The 2021 issue was unveiled during the festivities, and attendees were given a first look at the body of work, which discussed Megan’s career and its evolution while showcasing her stunning body in the new sports illustrated swimsuit design. Leyna Bloom understood the assignment and gave the design life in ways unimaginable. Naomi Osaka also discussed her growth and protecting her mental health as a human, woman, and athlete in these times.

El evento “Art Hearts Fashion” recibió a más de 30 diseñadores de renombre en el Faena Forum, durante el mes de julio, como parte del “Miami Swim Week” patrocinado por Art Hearts Fashion. Cientos de personas asistieron cada noche para ver exquisitas creaciones de trajes de baño y ropa de resort de los diseñadores emergentes y establecidos.

Influencers y cosmopólitas acudieron masivamente a estas fiestas privadas de la ciudad y a las grandes colaboraciones, finalizando la divertida semana con una fabulosa gala oficial de clausura en “E11EVEN”. La cápsula de invierno de FENDI es un desarrollo del look “Otoño / Invierno 2021” de la marca, que traduce los sellos distintivos de la temporada en un atuendo de estilo de vida moderno–toda una manifestación integral de los nuevos códigos FENDI, desde el estilo de piel de oveja hasta la ropa deportiva mejorada, la sastrería de esmoquin impecable y los tejidos Karligraphy irreverentes.

through tailoring – the umbrella sleeve cut of a trench, or the gently oversized fit of a shirt jacket – alongside the elegant ease that characterizes FENDI’s new vision.

The extravagance of rich velvet, dazzling paillettes, and extravagant lace contrasts with an insouciance attitude, giving contemporary evening wear confidence-- a satin pajama set well embodies that spirit. Delicate strips applied to featherlight organza to weave lightweight panels inset into outerwear or an aviator laser embossed with the Karligraphy monogram are among the key fur pieces realized in shearling, using the savoir-faire unique to the FENDI ateliers.

A reversible mink jacket with a tone-on-tone FF logo is the latest fur necessity, offering an adaptable, contemporary attitude. The FENDI First bootie, debuted in Autumn/Winter 2021, is now available in velvet, leather, and exotic skins and features the cantilevered, inverted “F” heel first seen in the FENDI O’Lock leather loafer. Seasonally, iconic handbag

MFS: ¿Qué implica el concepto “holístico” y como tu salón pasa a convertirte en un salón holístico?

Hace años se decía que las estilistas estábamos sujetas a enfermarnos de cáncer por la exposición diaria a muchos químicos. Porque como clienta vas y te aplicas el color una vez al mes, pero yo como máster colorista me expongo a la aplicación de diez tintes de cabello en un solo día.

Imagínate las toxinas que se meten en tu cuerpo. Lo que me hizo buscar alternativas. Me dije “hay productos en el mercado que ofrecen opciones no invasivas, yo puedo hacer una diferencia, así sea una cliente a la vez” Y así nació mi concepto holístico en mi Salón HeadMaster.

Después me apasioné con este concepto y expandí las opciones para el cuidado del cabello, llegando a todos los servicios que tenemos hoy, ofreciendo paz mental a mis clientes.

Haircare is one of the essential things of every human being; wonder why?

Because it is the frame of our face--our hair reflects a significant part of ourselves: our emotions. For many indigenous tribes, hair represents the physical extension of our thoughts, so it is just a matter of paying attention. We will see how our hair will answer many questions about ourselves.

That is why it is essential to care about the hair salons’ products when changing our hair colour, leading us as consumers to demand hair products that preserve health and well-being and protect the environment. Also, setting these new trends in hair care, known as the new hair trend, called “holistic hair care”.

For answers, we invited one of the most crucial Master Colourists in South Florida: Jenna Levine, founder of the holistic Headmaster Salon, for an interview. Levine, who has had a very fruitful career, has been a pioneer in the holistic hair field. Starting in 2007 as a certified educator of the brand Alfaparf Milano, she has become one of the most sought-after Master Colourists for the holistic “one-on-one” concept in recent times.

Jenna Levine: I started in 2007 when I was certified as an educator for Alfaparf Milano. My mentor at that time, John Frank, a Venezuelan, invited me to take the training to certify myself as an educator. I gladly accepted because I like challenges. I said to myself, “I can do this.” But in my mind, my other self said: “What happens if they do not choose me?” I ran into thirty well-known stylists who were experienced, but trusting in God and myself, I kept going. At the end of the training, they had chosen only six people, and two were from SF, and I was one of them! And right there, I began my career in the professional field of colour, certifying as a Master Colourist, giving me the opportunity to travel to Europe and establish relationships with many people in this field. I was also able to be at the height of the latest trends in terms of hair.

MFS: Tell us about the concept of holistic, what it implies, and when did your salon become holistic?

JL: The holistic concept encompasses everything that relates to beauty. The idea covers physical beauty and emotional beauty, which connects you with balance and emotions. I only use products that are not invasive; I try to use products that include ingredients that are as natural as possible, because that protects my health and the health of my clients. It makes us feel different, healthy and in balance.

Many years ago, it was said that master colourists were subject to getting cancer due to daily exposure to many chemicals and toxins. This is because the client goes to a salon and have the colour applied once a month, but as a master colourist, I exposed myself to ten hair colours in a single day, imagine all the toxins that get into our bodies; that made me think a lot about my work.

So, I began to search for alternatives. I said, “There are brands on the market that offer these non-invasive products. I can make a difference, even one client at a time.” And then, my holistic concept was born at my Headmaster Salon.

Later, I became so passionate about this concept, and I was adding more options for the care of the hair, which has given peace of mind to all my clients.

Es la historia de nuestras estrellas de portada: Athina y Eduardo Marturet. Una pareja icónica, admirada y muy querida por nuestra comunidad. Athina es una reconocida modelo y actriz de la popular serie de Netflix, “El Señor de Los Cielos”’ además, de ser la musa y esposa del maestro Eduardo Marturet, admirado conductor y director de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Miami (MISO)--pareja que una vez más acordaron gustosamente ponernos al día, respondiendo nuestro famoso Q&A y FASHIONMOGRAFO, ¡estén atentos!

Seven years ago, at Miami Fashion Spotlight.Org, we had the pleasure to write an editorial for “Valentine’s Day”. It was about one of the most romantic love stories of all time in Miami. The inspiring anecdote was about a celebrated couple, who have been married for 17 years (in 2014) and affirmed that they had found a way to stay together without separating a single night since they got married.

It is the story of our cover stars: Athina Marturet and Eduardo Marturet. One of the strongest and most admired couples in our community. Athina is a renowned model and successful actress from the popular series of Netflix, “El Señor de Los Cielos”. She is also the muse and wife of maestro Eduardo Marturet, the admired conductor and director of the Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO) and they have once again agreed to update us and answer our famous Q&A and FASHIONMOGRAFO, stay tuned!

MFS: Han pasado muchas noches desde nuestra primera entrevista en el 2014, nos gustaría comenzar preguntando, ¿continúan sin separarse el uno del otro, ni una sola noche?

Athina: Si, continuamos sin separarnos ni una sola noche y te cuento que las vivencias de estos últimos años nos han hecho apreciarnos más. Es como andar en una frecuencia muy especial que nos permite entendernos, hasta telepáticamente.

Eduardo: ¡Seguimos más fuertes que nunca!

Nos encanta andar el uno con el otro.

MFS: ¿Cómo hacen para coordinar tantos compromisos sin tener que separarse ni una noche? Sobre todo, cuando los vemos en un concierto de la Miami Symphony aquí en Miami y a la semana siguiente vemos a Athina grabando para la serie “El Señor de los Cielos” en Grecia.

Athina: En realidad, nos organizamos muy bien. Si estas claro en lo que quieres, que en nuestro caso es estar juntos, lo demás se adapta a tu alrededor.

Eduardo: Imagínate como nos organizamos, que acompañé a Athina durante el rodaje del “Señor de los Cielos 7” por 4 meses, en México y sus filmaciones en Grecia, Mykonos y Atenas—lo que terminó siendo algo fuera de serie para ambos, disfrutamos tanto la realización de esa super producción de Marcos Santana, productor ejecutivo de Telemundo.

Athina: Lo mejor de todo es que terminamos todos los compromisos en perfecta armonía en octubre, para regresar a Miami, a nuestra apertura de la nueva temporada de La Miami Symphony. Yo digo que el universo siempre conspira a nuestro favor.

MFS: Nos ha encantado el apoyo que han brindado a la industria de la moda en Miami, con conciertos como “MISO CHIC” en colaboraciones con diseñadores de la talla de: Ángel Sánchez, Nicolás Felizola y Donald J. Pliner, entre otros. ¿Es la moda algo que siempre les ha apasionado a ambos y qué desencadenó

este interés hacia la industria?

Athina: Yo siempre he dicho: “fashion es mi segunda piel”. He sido modelo por muchos años en campañas internacionales por todo el mundo. En Venezuela, presenté campañas para Max Factor por 8 años, entre muchas otras.

Además, he participado en muchos runway, videoclips y grandes proyectos en el mundo de la moda. Cuando conocí a Eduardo y vi lo que era capaz de montar en el mundo del espectáculo, entendí que solo era cuestión de hacer fusiones. Y como pueden ver, él tiene su propio estilo para vestir en sus conciertos. ¿Lo han visto con sus chaquetas y zapatos sensacionales? A la prensa le encanta, siempre comentan sus ‘outfits’.

Eduardo: Fue en Miami donde perfeccionamos aún más la creación de espectáculos altamente artísticos con diseñadores, hasta hicimos una gala con la diseñadora, Carolina Herrera. Son conciertos producidos con mucha poesía, videos, modelos, bailarines, actores de primera y las últimas tendencias de la moda. Además, nos esmeramos en hacerlo en las mejores salas de la cuidad del sol. La audiencia los ama y nos enorgullece que siempre son el highlight de la temporada.

MFS: En el primer concierto postpandemia de la MISO, “SYMPHONY IN GREEN,” notamos que ambos se abocaron a promocionar el amor por la naturaleza y la protección del medio ambiente. ¿Como nace esta nueva pasión en Eduardo y Athina?

Eduardo: Para nosotros el crecimiento espiritual, el amor a la naturaleza, la sanación personal y mundial son temas en los cuales veníamos trabajando; el Covid-19 solo profundizó esto aún más. Y es que hemos experimentado una y otra vez que la música nos transporta, nos sube a una frecuencia más alta, nos sana y fue esa la base de la cual partimos. Por eso decidí montar presentaciones donde se hiciera aún más consciente que esto es así. Un programa mixto en un sitio idóneo como lo es “Plant the Future” -- fue nuestro primer experimento y fue mágico.

MFS: Many nights have passed since our interview in 2014, we would like to start by asking, have you remained unseparated from each other for every night, or did that change?

Athina: Yes, we still haven’t separated from each other, for even a single night. Learning from our experiences in recent years has made us even more appreciative. It is like walking on a very special frequency that allows us to understand ourselves, even telepathically.

Eduardo: We are stronger than ever! We love hanging out with each other.

MFS: How do you manage to coordinate so many commitments without having to separate for a single night? Especially when we see you guys at a concert of Miami Symphony Orchestra here in Miami and the following week, we see Athina recording “El Senor de Los Cielos” in Greece.

Athina: Actually, we organize ourselves very well. For us, the important thing is to be clear about what we want, which in our case, is to be together. The rest adapts itself to our surroundings.

Eduardo: Imagine how well we can organize ourselves. I accompanied Athina during the filming of “Señor de Los Cielos 7” in Mexico for 4 months and her filming in Greece, Mykonos, and Athens. It was an extraordinary experience, we both enjoyed this superproduction by Marcos Santana, executive producer of Telemundo.

Athina: Best of all, we were able to finish in perfect harmony in October and return to Miami at the opening of the new season of The Miami Symphony. I say that the universe always conspires in our favor.

MFS: We love the support you have given to the fashion industry in Miami through concerts such as “MISO CHIC” and in collaboration with designers as Angel Sanchez, Nicolas Felizola, and Donald J. Pliner, among others. Is fashion something that you have always been passionate about and what triggered your interest in this industry?

Athina: I say, “Fashion is my second skin.” I have been a model for years for international campaigns. In Venezuela, I did campaigns for Max Factor for 8 years and I have participated in many runways and video clips. When I met Eduardo, I saw what he could do with his music. I understood that it was just a matter of fusion. And as you can see, he also has his unique style of dressing for his concerts. Have you seen him with his cool jackets and extravagant shoes?

The press loves it, they always comment about his outfits.

Eduardo: We perfected these kind of concerts with fashion designers here in Miami. We even held a gala with fashion designer, Carolina Herrera. We produced these concerts with a lot of poetry, including videos, models, dancers, renowned actors, and the latest fashion trends. In addition, we showcase them at the best venues in the city. The audience loves them, and we are proud that they are always the highlight of the season.

MFS: In the first post-pandemic concert, “SYMPHONY IN GREEN,” we noticed that you were both dedicated to raising awareness for the love of nature and the protection of the environment. How was this new passion born in Eduardo and Athina?

Eduardo: Spiritual growth, love of nature, and world healing are topics on which we have already been working and the Covid-19 developed them even more. We have experienced over and over again, that music transports us, elevates us to a higher frequency, heals us and that was the basis from which we started. That is why I decided to create concerts that were more aware of this. A mixed program at an ideal location like the oasis “Plant the Future”. It was our first experiment, and we were delighted with the results.

Athina: “Symphony in Green” was under the full moon, among plants, orchids, and next to a river; furthermore, Eduardo started the program with a speech, unusual but

Athina: Además, el concierto fue bajo la luna llena, entre plantas, orquídeas y al lado de un rio y Eduardo inició el programa con un discurso, algo muy inusual, pero que nos elevó a todos. Tenemos que trabajar fuertemente en sanar nuestro mundo, subir la frecuencia de todo y de todos.

“La conciencia por el medio ambiente debe estar en todo”

MFS: ¿Piensan continuar liderizando la concientización hacia la protección del medio ambiente a través de conciertos y eventos?

Eduardo: Absolutamente, después del éxito en “Plant the Future” nos presentamos en el hotel Biltmore, otro concierto con un perfil aún más hacia esta onda, con un enfoque mucho más fuerte en la sanación. Tuve el gusto de hacer composiciones con sonidos sanadores en colaboración con nuestro amigo el doctor Santiago Bonora. Son presentaciones nuevas que voy creando exactamente con la finalidad de crear concientización hacia nuestro medio ambiente, hacia nosotros mismos--a través de la vibración de la música o a través de sonidos especiales.

Athina: Es maravilloso integrar programas como este, que incluyen hasta minutos de silencio, especialmente creados para tomar conciencia.

Además, nos incentivan a disfrutar de los pájaros y plantas alrededor de nuestra hermosa Miami.

MFS: ¿Qué opinan de la moda sostenible, les ha gustado los diseños que han visto hasta ahora?

Eduardo: La conciencia por la protección del ambiente es algo que debe estar en todo lo que tiene que ver con nuestro estilo de vida, con la comida y la bebida que ingerimos y por supuesto con la ropa que vestimos, ya que nuestra salud depende de todas estas cosas.

Athina: Amo la moda y comparto esta pasión con Eduardo, pero recuerden que nuestro mundo está cambiando. Nos encanta ver como aumentan los diseñadores que crean colecciones innovadoras, respetando la salud humana, garantizando la dignidad de los trabajadores de esta industria. Fui modelo de la campaña botánica de “Tarbay”, una marca sostenible venezolana que apoya a mujeres humildes en la isla de Margarita en Venezuela. Y fue una experiencia hermosa ver como cantan y disfrutan mientras elaboraban estos diseños modernos sostenibles. Ahora cuando Lissette Rondón, la editora de “Miami Fashion Spotlight”, nos presentó este megaproyecto para promocionar diseñadores sostenibles, casi lloré de la emoción, al ver más gente envuelta en este tema.

MFS: En estos tiempos de cambios y de transición postpandemia, ¿Qué han hecho para reinventarse Athina y Eduardo Marturet?

Eduardo: Bueno, reinventarse siempre ha sido un reto para nosotros, sobre todo desde que vinimos a Miami hace 16 años y comenzamos a trabajar con la Miami Symphony. Porque tuvimos que renovar todo el concepto y la base que había con mucha creatividad, ya que no teníamos el respaldo de toda la gente que tenemos ahora. Fue entonces cuando entendimos que solo con una extrema creatividad se podía cambiar e innovar la MISO. Athina: Lo que queremos decir, es que durante la pandemia, solo tuvimos que ser más creativos, así que creamos el canal de YouTube de la MISO que ha sido super exitoso, igual que un video musical con todos

MFS: Will you continue to lead awareness towards protecting the environment?

Eduardo: Absolutely, after our concert “Symphony in Green”, we performed again at the Biltmore Hotel, with “Salute the Heroes”; a concert with a strong focus on healing. I had the pleasure of making compositions with healing sounds in collaboration with our friend Dr. Santiago Bonora. I am creating these new concerts to raise awareness towards our environment and towards ourselves, through the vibration of music or special sounds.

Athina: We love to integrate programs like these, which even include “minutes of silence”, especially to raise awareness.

MFS: What do you think of sustainable fashion, do you like the designs you have seen so far?

Eduardo: Awareness for the protection of the environment is something that must be in everything that has to do with our lifestyle.

From the food and drinks, we ingest, to the clothes we wear since our health depends on all these.

Athina: And we love to see an increase in the number of designers that create collections that respect human health, guaranteeing the dignity of workers in this industry. When I was a model for a botanical campaign for “Tarbay”, a sustainable brand that supports humble women at the Island of Margarita in Venezuela; I was delighted to see them singing and enjoying themselves, while they elaborated sustainable modern designs. So, when Lissette Rondon, the editor of Miami Fashion Spotlight, introduced us to this project that will help promote sustainable designers, I almost cried with excitement for seeing more people getting involved.

MFS: In these times of change in this post-pandemic transition, what have Athina, and Eduardo Marturet done to reinvent themselves?

Eduardo: Well, reinventing ourselves is something we’ve been doing since we came to Miami 16 years ago and started working with the Miami Symphony. We had to renew the concept and the base with a lot of creativity because we did not have the support of the people who support us now. So, we understood that only with extreme creativity could MISO be innovated.

Athina: What we mean is that during the pandemic, we had to be even more creative. So, we launched the MISO YouTube channel which has been super successful. With all members of MISO, we made a music video filmed by Telemundo that went viral. We also did online and Zoom concerts that brought us closer to our audience.

MFS: In this long trajectory as a couple, which we admire a lot, what would be the advice that you would give to the new generations about marriage?

Athina: I would advise giving yourself space and the necessary support you need from each other. We got married late with the certainty that we wanted to make our dreams come true together. I admire Eduardo and his achievements; he is a showman when he directs, but that character remains on stage. Personally, he is loyal and very helpful to

la comunicación lo es todo / communication is everything!

los integrantes de la MISO, filmado por Telemundo. ¡Se hizo viral! También hicimos conciertos regulares online y por Zoom que nos acercaron aún más a nuestra audiencia.

MFS: En esta larga trayectoria como pareja, la cual admiramos mucho, ¿cuál sería el consejo que ambos darían a las nuevas generaciones sobre el amor y el matrimonio?

Athina: Yo les aconsejaría darse el espacio y el apoyo que cada uno necesita, es super importante. Nosotros nos casamos tarde, con la certeza de que queríamos realizar nuestros sueños juntos. Yo admiro a Eduardo y lo que ha logrado con la Sinfónica de Miami. Él es un “showman” cuando dirige, pero ese personaje queda allí en el escenario.

En lo personal es leal, fiel y muy servicial con sus amigos. Es mi mejor amigo y mi gran maestro.

Eduardo: Yo les aconsejaría hablar desde el comienzo lo que cada uno realmente quiere, lo que necesita; la comunicación lo es todo.

MFS: ¿Cuáles son los planes de ambos para lo que queda del 2021 y el 2022?

Eduardo: Yo estaré grabando la música de “La Reina del Sur 3” con la MISO y también crearé la música nueva para este proyecto.

Athina: Por mi parte, me estoy preparando para un nuevo rol como actriz.

MFS: Esta es nuestra parte favorita de todas las entrevistas, nació en nuestro canal de YouTube “Miami Fashion Spotlight TV”, lo llamamos el “Fashionmografo”, en realidad, es un chismógrafo. Vamos a hacer 10 preguntas o frases que cualquiera de los dos, o los dos al mismo tiempo, pueden responder con lo primero que venga a sus mentes.

MFS: Libro que han leído muchas veces.

Athina: “El Fuego de Persia” de Tom Holland.

MFS: Canción que los ha hecho llorar, porque les recuerda algo muy especial.

Eduardo y Athina: “Every Time We say Goodbye”.

Athina: De Cole Porter. Era nuestra canción cuando éramos novios y cada vez que Eduardo me dejaba en la casa, me tocaba esa canción. Nos recuerda por qué estamos juntos.

MFS: Diseñador de moda con quien tienen alguna anécdota especial.

Athina: Carolina Herrera. La anécdota es que en la primera gala de la MISO, Eduardo la invitó para otorgarle “La Batuta de Oro” como embajadora de la MISO. Lo cierto es que yo me estresé, porque había muchos invitados que querían verla y nosotros queríamos que se sintiera tranquila y disfrutara del espectáculo, no queríamos abusar de su presencia. Para mi sorpresa, Carolina estuvo encantada con el espectáculo, saludando a todos y conversando gustosamente con cada uno de los invitados que se acercaron a saludarla ¡toda la noche! Posó para la prensa con gran gusto, hasta en el mismo escenario con Eduardo, sin parar. Y con ese ultra glamur que la caracteriza, bailó hasta que la gala se terminó; fuimos los últimos en irnos. Esa es Carolina Herrera. ¡Una Diosa de verdad, muy humana!

MFS: ¿Qué hacen cuando se enojan?

Athina: Nos ponemos los dedos juntos como el muchacho en la película “E.T.” Eduardo: Y nos miramos a los ojos y allí queda.

MFS: ¿Como celebran sus logros más importantes?

Eduardo: Con ofrendas musicales y con nuestros amigos.

MFS: What plans do you both have for the remaining of 2021 and 2022?

Eduardo: I will be recording the music of “Reina del Sur 3” with MISO, and I will also create the new music for this new project.

Athina: I am preparing for a new role as an actress.

MFS: This is our favorite part. It was born on our YouTube channel “Miami Fashion Spotlight TV”, we call it the “FASHIONMOGRAFO”. It is a little gossiper.

Athina: By Cole Porter. It was our song when we were dating and every time Eduardo dropped me off at home, he played that song for me. It reminds us why we are together.

MFS: Fashion designer that you both have a special anecdote.

Athina: Carolina Herrera who came to our first Miami Symphony gala. Eduardo invited her to pay tribute to her with “The Golden Baton” award as MISO ambassador.

The anecdote is that I was stressed; because all the guests wanted to see her, and I wanted Carolina to feel calm and enjoy the show. I did not want to abuse her attendance with us. To my surprise, not only she did enjoy the show, but she greeted everyone and chatted happily with each of the guests who came to the table all night. In addition, she posed for the press, even on the same stage where Eduardo was, without stopping. And with that glamor that characterizes her, she danced until the gala was over; we were the last to go! This is Carolina Herrera, a true Goddess, and a very kind human.

MFS: What do you do when you both have a fight?

Athina: We put our fingers together, like the boy in the movie “E.T.” Eduardo: And look into each other’s eyes, and everything remains there.

MFS: How do you celebrate your achievements?

Colección de Otoño/Invierno 2021: Inspiración La inspiración para la colección “TA Couture Otoño/Invierno 2021”, que se exhibirá exclusivamente en el lanzamiento de nuestra revista MFS Magazine, comenzó hace más de una década cuando Apóstol comenzó a explorar las posibilidades de crear hermosas y exclusivas piezas de moda basadas en materiales sostenibles. Sin embargo, en ese entonces la disponibilidad de materia prima ecológica era extremadamente limitada, aunque eso no la desanimó a usarlos en sus diseños, lo que hizo que la casa de moda “TA Couture” recibiera varios premios por ello, tales como: “Pionera de Eco-Couture” de la Fundación Arthur Marshall y el primer premio a la Eco-Couture de Born Free USA. En la última década, se han desarrollado fascinantes materiales ecológicos y esta diseñadora ha expandido su conocimiento a más no poder durante la investigación de telas para esta colección, siendo difícil estrechar opciones de tantos materiales increíbles que descubrió alrededor del mundo.

Apóstol incluyó en esta increíble colección, cuero vegano, hecho de cactus y “peace silk”, donde se les da tiempo a los gusanos de seda para convertirse en polillas, en lugar de seda regular y donde los capullos se hierven antes de eclosionar. Las sedas naturalmente blancas se tiñeron con vino tinto y otros tintes de color natural para algunos de sus diseños. Varias creaciones fueron elaboradas con encaje de algodón orgánico y otras con “triacetatos,” una fibra semisintética, que combina las propiedades de un material natural a base de pulpa de celulosa con un proceso químico sostenible.

La paleta de colores, utilizada para esta colección de siluetas ultrafemeninas, fue púrpura, magenta, violeta, oro, crema y rosa, mezclando tejidos suaves con el aspecto estructurado del cuero vegano. Algunos de los vestidos están adornados con flores y todas las piezas están diseñadas y confeccionadas en el atelier de la diseñadora en Miami. La colección presenta distintos tipos de estilos, desde pantalones ‘palazzo’ de encaje y conjuntos de corpiño de cuero vegano hasta vestidos de cóctel y vestidos de noche. TA Couture busca transmitir con esta propuesta que si es posible crear moda ecológica elegante y femenina y se basó en el objetivo de inspirar a otros diseñadores actuales y futuros.

gold, cream, and dusty rose, mixing soft fabrics with the structured look of the vegan leather. Some of the dresses are embellished with made-in flowers and all pieces are designed and made right here in Miami. The collection features distinct types of looks, from lace palazzos pants and vegan leather bustier sets to cocktail dresses and evening gowns. MFS: Hay gente que quiere hacer eventos sustentables y no lo hacen porque piensan que van a sacrificar la calidad o el confort de su evento, ¿qué opinas?

CB: Se puede logar un evento hermoso con mucha ética y conciencia en los desechos que tendremos, sin sacrificar la elegancia y el confort.

MFS: En tus propuestas siempre agregas una opción sustentable, aunque el cliente no la pida, ¿por qué?

CB: Si tienes un evento con cierto tema y yo te ofrezco esa misma opción, pero sustentable, ¿no escogerías la opción que más beneficia al medio ambiente? Es solo cuestión de ponerla en el papel.

MFS: ¿De qué tratan tus eventos “Green & Fabulous Birthday Bashes”?

CB: Son eventos con materiales simples, que promocionan todo lo verde; como las fiestas con temas de jardines, donde minimizamos los desechos. Los globos son los más difíciles, porque los piden mucho, por eso usamos solo biodegradables. Es imposible que todo sea eco, pero que el cliente nos deje sustituir algunas cosas, es un triunfo para todos.

MFS: ¿Podrías sugerir 5 estrategias que ayuden a hacer un evento eco-friendly?

CB: Claro. 1-Hacer las invitaciones con material reciclado o por email. 2- Elegir proveedores especializados en eco-eventos. 3- El “dress-code” del evento puede ser vestimenta vintage.

4-Plantas hermosas como centros de mesa. 5- Sustituir “Goodie Bags” por bolsitas 100 % algodón orgánico que pueden ser reusadas en el hogar.

MFS: ¿Es cierto que las nuevas tendencias en eventos son las fiestas de “Sweet Sixteen Eco-friendly”?

CB: Esta generación de relevo tiene más concientización hacia el medio ambiente que las anteriores y liderizan movimientos de protección ecológica, porque su futuro depende de ello. Que mejor manera de promocionar sus ideas que en fiestas importantes en sus vidas, como los “Sweet Sixteen”. Asistirlos en la búsqueda para reducir desechos y decorar con toda esa ética, ¡es algo casi poético!

MFS: How did the idea of designing sustainable events come about?

CB: I saw a lack of these events in South Florida. I said to myself, “I can make a difference”, so I did a lot of research and designed my first eco-friendly events. The clients were happy, and I put my 50 cents to my community and the planet. It is my children’s inheritance!

MFS: Some people want to do sustainable events, but they don’t do it because they think they will sacrifice the quality or comfort of their event. What do you think?

CB: A beautiful event can be achieved with a lot of ethics and awareness of the waste that we will have without sacrificing elegance and comfort.

MFS: You always add a sustainable option in your proposals, even if the client does not ask for it, why?

CB: If you have an event with a certain theme and I offer you that same option, but sustainable. Would you not choose the option that most benefits the environment? It’s just a matter of putting it on paper.

MFS: What are your “Green & Fabulous Birthday Bashes” events about?

CB: They are events with simple materials, promoting all things green, like the Garden-themed parties, where we minimize waste. The balloons are the most difficult because clients ask for them a lot, but we use only biodegradable ones. It’s impossible to plan everything to be eco-friendly, but if the client lets us substitute some things, it is already a triumph for everyone.

MFS: Could you suggest 5 of your strategies to help make an eco-friendly event?

CB: Sure! 1- The invitations can be made of recycled material or by email. 2- Choose suppliers specialized in “green” events. 3- The “dress code” can be vintage outfits. 4-Beautiful plants as centerpieces and 5- Replace the “goodie bags” with 100% organic cotton bags. They can be reused at home.

MFS: Is it true the new trends in events are the eco-friendly “Sweet Sixteen” parties?

CB: These new generations are more ecologically conscious than previous generations. They are at the forefront of awareness campaigns because its importance to their future. And what better place to promote their ideas than at life’s most crucial events, such as their “Sweet Sixteen?” It’s almost poetic to assist them in searching for every detail to reduce waste and beautify with all that ethics.

uchas preguntas que me hacen a diario en consulta giran en torno a las “Flores de Bach” que recomiendo para mi plan de adelgazamiento saludable. Por lo que en esta ocasión quiero dar respuestas a esas interrogantes que muchos tienen respecto a este tema.

Las Flores de Bach son un sistema de esencias homeopáticas a base de flores silvestres, creadas por el doctor Edward Bach hace 80 años, su importancia terapéutica radica en el balance de las emociones y son de especial ayuda cuando enfrentamos grandes cambios y nuevos retos--no interfieren con tratamientos médicos, farmacológicos, naturales o energéticos; no generan adicciones y no tienen contraindicaciones. Pueden ser utilizados por personas de cualquier edad, incluyendo niños, embarazadas, personas de la tercera edad, animales y plantas.

Muchos pacientes me preguntan, ¿cómo puedo perder peso saludablemente? Siempre les recomiendo, una dieta balanceada, ejercicios, suplementos y una fórmula personalizada de remedios florales (para que tengan soporte terapéutico a la hora de manejar sus emociones).

“Agrimony/Agrimonia”, es muy útil en los procesos de pérdida de peso, cuando la ingesta excesiva de alimentos tiene un componente de evasión y/o adicción para calmar la angustia. La

personalidad “Agrimony” es muy sociable, disfruta comiendo y bebiendo, negando los problemas, dice que “todo está bien” pero la procesión va por dentro. “Elm/ Olmo”, para los que se sienten abrumados al hacer un nuevo plan alimenticio, les parece una tarea imposible; diciendo que “tienen suficiente estrés, para sumar una dieta.”

“Gentian/Genciana”, para quien aumentó de peso por un bajón anímico y no consigue la fuerza necesaria para salir de allí. “Clematis/Clematilde”, para aquellos que creen en soluciones mágicas y que pueden seguir comiendo sin problemas con ayudas no sustentadas en la realidad.

“Chesnut Bud/Brote de Castaño” se indica cuando la persona parece no darse cuenta del problema que tiene o si hizo una dieta, bajó de peso y volvió a engordar enseguida (efecto rebote). “Mustard/ Mostaza” ayuda cuando el sobrepeso acompaña a una depresión por causas internas, que pueden ser neuro-hormonales o cuando el aumento de peso está asociado a un estado alterado del ánimo como en época de invierno. “Impatiens/ Impaciencia” es muy útil para evitar desesperar y bajar los niveles de tensión y ansiedad cuando nos sometemos a una dieta estricta. “Crab Apple/Manzano Silvestre” es el remedio floral por excelencia para depurar y desintoxicar el cuerpo y “Wild Rose/Rosa Silvestre” para sentirse más seductor y confiado, colaborando con la autoestima. Some of the daily questions I get asked in consultations are relating to the “Bach Flowers” that I offer as part of my healthy weight loss regimen. This time, I’d like to address some common questions people have about this topic.

Dr. Edward Bach created a system of wildflower-based homeopathic essences 80 years ago. Their therapeutic importance lies in the balance of emotions. They are helpful, especially when we face great changes and new challenges— they do not interfere with medical treatment, pharmacological, natural, or energy treatments; they do not generate addictions and have no contraindications.

People of all ages, including children, pregnant women, the elderly, animals, and plants, can use them.

When my patients ask me, how they can healthily reduce weight, I usually propose a well-balanced diet, exercise, supplements, and a unique floral remedy combination (they have that therapeutic support when managing their emotions). Everyone faces a dietary issue at some point, so I’ll start with the ““Hornbeam/ Hojarazo” solution for those who keep saying, “I’ll start tomorrow” and never accomplish anything. “Larch / Alerce” is recommended for the person who says, “the pretty and the slender are others, I stay like this,” expressing low self-esteem. “Heather/ Brezo” is for those who feel compelled to consume excessively in order to fill a gap (they are demanding, always looking for company, saying “they cannot bear loneliness”). “Cherry Plum / Cerasifera” addresses a lack of control, allowing us to feel calmer and more stable in our emotions. It is beneficial for those who are addicted to carbohydrates or who have nocturnal raids on the refrigerator and need to abstain from beginning a healthy eating routine (gives them energy without lower glucose) “Agrimony/ Agrimonia” when there is a component of avoidance or addiction to calm anxiety, it is instrumental in weight reduction procedures. The personality of “Agrimony” is highly gregarious, enjoys eating and drinking a lot, rejects issues, and claims that “everything is good,” but the agony is

hidden deep. “Elm / Olmo” appears to be an impossible task for individuals who are overwhelmed by the prospect of creating a new eating plan, stating that “they have enough stress in their lives to add a diet to it.”

If a person has acquired weight due to a bad mood and lacks the strength to come out of it, “Gentian / Genciana” is prescribed. “Clematis / Clematilde,” for individuals who believe in magical solutions, thinking they can continue eating without difficulty.

“Chesnut Bud/ Brote de Castaño” is suggested when the person does not appear to be aware of the problem they are experiencing, or if they have gone on a diet, lost weight, and then quickly gained it back (rebound effect). When being overweight is related to sadness owing to internal factors, which can be neuro-hormonal, or when weight gain is associated with an altered state of mind, such as in the winter, “Mustard/ Mostaza” can help. “Impatiens / Impaciencia” is particularly helpful in avoiding despair and lowering levels of tension and anxiety.

“Crab Apple/ Manzano Silvestre” is the quintessential flower remedy to purify and detoxify the body easily, and “Wild Rose/ Rosa Silvestre” allows the movement of sensitive sexual energy to feel more seductive and confident, collaborating with self-esteem.

Finally, because of the stress of a weight loss plan, I recommend “Beech / Haya” for those like the grumpy little dwarf, insufferable and judgmental of others.

The floral treatments can be taken singly or in a formula that includes up to five of them.

They are made in a dropper bottle with a very pure and great quality water basis to keep their characteristics. Four sublingual drops, four times a day, will be the dose.

na de las principales lideres en nuestra comunidad de Miami, Gisela Lowenstein lo ha hecho todo. Su familia es copropietaria de los hoteles Ritz-Carlton South Beach y Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour, mientras, Gisela por su lado, ha desarrollado su propio negocio como profesional en Life-Coaching, trabajando con grandes líderes de negocios, además de ser una amorosa esposa y madre de tres hijos.

MFS: ¿Cuál ha sido el logro más grande en tu vida personal y en tu vida profesional?

Gisela Lowenstein: La familia es el logro más grande en mi vida. Mi esposo Diego y yo hemos estado casados por 28 años con tres hermosos hijos. Con la ayuda de ellos, he sido capaz de superar momentos difíciles, incluyendo mis problemas de salud. Soy sobreviviente de cáncer de seno, diagnosticada a los 34 años; dos años después que falleciera mi madre de cáncer de ovario. Gracias al apoyo de mi familia pude superar esta etapa de mi vida. Mi logro profesional más grande ha sido aprender cuando debo decir no. Es difícil determinar tus límites e imponerlos cuando es necesario.

Pero, es algo que me enorgullece haber logrado, especialmente cuando cambié de carrera, tuve que decir no a una carrera para decir sí a otra.

Un proceso difícil que finalmente me llevó a desarrollar mi propio negocio, donde brindo apoyo y guía a grandes líderes de negocios familiares, para que puedan desafiar sus propias mentalidades y prosperar.

MFS: ¿Como has enfrentado la pandemia?

GL: La pandemia ha sido un gran reto para el mundo entero y cuando surgen los retos, la

familia es mi refugio. Estuvimos todos bajo el mismo techo durante estos meses, compartiendo la experiencia de navegar tiempos inciertos, donde aprendimos que el apoyo puede enfocarse diferente dependiendo de la situación-- no solo aportando soluciones, también estando el uno al lado del otro, ofreciendo una mano devota o un espacio para reflexionar. Esta experiencia me proporcionó gran perspectiva que me ayudó a desarrollar un enfoque personalizado al trabajar con mis clientes.

MFS: ¿Qué consejo darías a nuevos emprendedores sobre cómo abordar retos como los de esta pandemia?

GL: Mi consejo es vibrar en la energía de la solución. Es fácil consumirse por aquello que no podemos controlar. Debemos ser adaptables, tolerantes, escuchar nuestra intuición, y alinearnos con la energía de los resultados que queremos crear.

She has developed her professional lifecoaching business in which she works with the leaders of family business. On top of that, she is a loving wife and a mother of three. Much of Gisela’s personal and professional life leads back to the importance she places on family, so we sat down with her to learn just how integral family values are to how she lives her life and conducts her business.

MFS Magazine: What have been the greatest accomplishments in your personal & professional life?

Gisela Lowenstein: Family is everything to me and is the source of my greatest accomplishments in life. My husband Diego and I have been married for 28 years and have three beautiful, adult children.

With their help, I have been able to navigate some of the scariest times of my life, including my own health issues. I am a breast cancer survivor. I was diagnosed at 34 years old only two years after my own mother passed away from ovarian cancer. The strength of my family got me through that time of my life. In my professional life, the greatest accomplishment I’ve made is learning when to say no. It’s difficult to determine what your boundaries are and to enforce them when necessary; but it’s something I’m proud to have achieved. Especially when I switched careers, I had to make the decision to say no to one career and say yes to another. That was a hard process, but ultimately lead me to creating my own business in which I get to support women and family-business leaders challenge their own mindsets and thrive.

MFS: How have you had to pivot during the pandemic?

GL: The pandemic has been one of the most challenging moments the world has gone through, and when challenges arise, family is my refuge. We were all under the same roof again, and through the months we spent together, we shared the experience of navigating these uncertain times. This was a big reminder that support can look different depending on the situation-- not only about bringing solutions, but also about being next to each other, offering a helping hand and space to reflect. This has given me a lot of perspective in my own business practices and has helped me develop a bespoke approach to the way I work with clients.

MFS: What advice would you give to new entrepreneurs about how they can approach challenges like the pandemic?

GL: My advice is to live in the energy of the solution. It is easy to be consumed by what you can’t control. Be adaptable, tolerant, listen to your intuition, and align your energy with the outcome you want to create.

MFS: Who is your favorite designer?

GL: Silvia Tcherassi. She has such a unique ability to meld story and art together in every collection.

MFS: What is the best job interview attire?

GL: You should wear whatever describes your personality and makes you feel empowered-adding a personal flair that shows what you’re all about.

MFS: What do you think about fashion in Miami and where it’s headed?

GL: Miami has gone through an incredible transformation in the past decade that has resulted in having access to fashion for all shapes, budgets, and tastes with a special environment where everything works, and anything goes.

Athina: As Emilio Estefan says, “Eduardo is an incredible music conductor”. I would add that he is an alchemist of classical music. He knows how to transform his audience, making everyone elevate to a very high frequency and open their hearts. They enjoy even more and feel what true love is. This is his passion and his personal legend.

Eduardo: Athina is a true Greek goddess of unequaled strength, capable of always transforming reality into something better. She is an excellent actress and supermodel. Her exceptional creativity has allowed her to serve many people and help organizations to develop.

I dare to say that’s her personal legend, but the greatest thing she has is her love and loyalty for her loved ones.

“Honey Birdette” brought the heat with a capsule collection of luxury swimwear and its sizzling hot, lacy lingerie for the final show on Saturday night.

Aquaria y Violet Chachki, ganadoras de “RuPaul’s Drag Race”, caminaron la pasarela con una diversa gama de modelos, que incluyó a Carmen Carrera. La audiencia hizo estallidos con cada una de las modelos, lo que resultó en un enérgico espectáculo.

Liliana Montoya swim, a returning Colombian designer, put on a remarkable display showcasing her sustainable swim collection, Gaia.

“Sports Illustrated Swimsuit” hizo una de las presentaciones más inclusivas en el hotel “Mondrian South Beach’s Baia Beach Club,” donde el hermoso horizonte de la ciudad de Miami sirvió de fondo para la gran panorámica del fastuoso runway construido sobre la enorme piscina.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit celebrated its return with one of its most inclusive runway presentations to date at the Mondrian Hotel South Beach’s Baia Beach Club. The gorgeous Miami city skyline served as the ultimate backdrop as guests gathered at the panoramic location with the runway built over the huge pool.

PAREJAS QUE VIAJAN

La Romántica Isla Anna Maria en Florida Recientemente, mi esposo y yo hicimos unas pequeñas vacaciones en la bella isla de Anna María (AMI) donde celebramos mi cumpleaños.

Aunque habíamos escuchado maravillas sobre esta isla y a pesar de estar a solo unas horas de Miami (o quizás por eso) siempre terminábamos dejando nuestra visita para “después.” Pero al querer celebrar mi “feliz vuelta al sol” con una experiencia inolvidable, tomamos la decisión de ir hacia este increíble destino.

Al llegar a la isla, quedamos impactados por la cantidad de playas, todas con aguas azules cristalinas, arenas increíblemente blancas y lugareños muy amables. ¡Todo un paraíso!

En comidas, el “grouper” es el pescado local, por lo que aparece en el menú de muchos restaurantes. También fuimos por recomendación al restaurante “Rod & Reel Pier”, donde vimos delfines mientras esperábamos nuestro turno para almorzar, cenando luego en el “Sand Bar”, mientras observamos el impactante atardecer con los pies en la arena--super romántico y digno de recomendar a otros. Al siguiente día, caminamos por el muelle donde hicimos una parada para comer ostras frescas en “Anna Maria Oyster Bar” y cenamos langosta en el restaurante típico y muy popular, “Cortez Clam Factory.”

Nos encantó “Coquina Beach” por sus comodidades (área para barbacoas y área para niños) y las playas “Cruz Beach” y “Manatee Beach.” Para paseos en la noche, disfrutamos a plenitud del “Historic Bridge Street” porque hay muchas tiendas, restaurantes y bares con música

Nos hospedamos en el área de “Holmes Beach” porque nos gusta hacer nuestros ejercicios temprano en la playa con tranquilidad.

Recomendamos alquilar una casa con piscina; porque es una experiencia fantástica y la isla tiene para todos los presupuestos. Si prefieren hospedarse en lugares exclusivos para parejas, de presupuesto solidario, recomendamos “Haley’s Couples Retreat”.

AMI es uno de esos lugares que se debe visitar con frecuencia; es excelente para vacaciones inolvidables o conmemorar ocasiones especiales y divertida para visitar con amigos y familiares, por lo que todo el mundo debería intentar ver la magnificencia de esta isla ¡al menos una vez en la vida!

The Romantic Anna Maria Island in Florida

My spouse and I just returned from Anna Maria Island (AMI), where we celebrated my birthday. We’d heard a lot of beautiful things about, but despite being so close (or perhaps because of that), we decided to put it off until later. As a result, we took action and planned to visit this island to commemorate my “happy return of the sun.”

We were taken aback by the island’s splendor. AMI has a plethora of beaches, all of which are stunning; their waters are crystal blue, the sands are incredibly white, and the locals are kind. It’s a paradise!

In terms of cuisine, grouper is the local fish, and it is frequently featured on daily menus in many restaurants. We enjoyed eating at the “Rod and Reel Pier,” where we spotted several dolphins while waiting for our time to eat, and the “Sand Bar,” where you can eat with your feet in the sand during the sunset, which is more romantic than it sounds! We enjoyed fresh oysters at Anna Maria Oyster Bar on the Pier and lobster at Cortez Clam Factory (nothing fancy, but a wonderful meal).

We liked “Coquina Beach” within the beaches because it has all of the amenities and a family-friendly area where you can have barbecues. I propose going to “Cruz Beach” and “Manatee Beach” during the day, and then going for a night walk down “Historic Bridge Street” to

get to know the stores, have a few drinks at the bars, or look around. If you don’t want to drive or deal with parking, free trolleys are available on the island.

We stayed in Holmes Beach because we enjoy taking our morning workouts on the beach in peace. We recommend renting a house with a pool; it is a fantastic experience, and AMI has plenty of possibilities for all budgets. We recommend Haley’s Couples Retreat, if you prefer to travel to places solely for couples and are on a budget.

This is one of the places you should go as often as possible as a getaway and a terrific place to bond and have a gorgeous holiday or commemorate any prior occasion. It’s a fantastic place to visit with friends and family.

Everyone should try to see the magnificence of this island at least once in their lives!
