a message from our camp director: Welcome and thank you for considering Miami Country Day Camp as the destination for your child’s most amazing summer enrichment experience to date. I am excited to be joining this wonderful program, which is celebrating its 90th year — before there was a school, there was a camp! Our promise is to ensure that your child’s camp experience is not just fun and inspiring, but also life-changing.

Summer camps have been a huge part of my life both professionally and personally. Each year, I literally count the days until the first day of camp. This coming summer, Miami Country Day Camp promises to be the best yet! We have a huge array of exciting programs and activities, including our new Trip Camp, our enhanced CIT program, and expanded aquatics program, which includes daily swim instruction for every camper.

At Miami Country Day Camp, we are committed to providing every child with a meaningful, memorable, and most importantly, enjoyable summer experience. We are passionate about providing a tailored program in order to recognize and value every child through exploration, fun, and discovery. We strive to achieve enrichment that fosters communication, collaboration, and learning in a safe and secure environment for all.

I am so excited to spend this summer with your children. They are the reason my staff and I have the best jobs in the world. Here is to another fun Miami Country Day summer!

the miami country day difference Caring and Compassionate Counselors Our counselors, or Fungineers as we call them, are what really set our camp apart. Our Head Counselors and Specialty Instructors have extensive experience in their fields. Many are teachers or employed in education and are CPR trained and certified.

Our Assistant Counselors are 16 years of age or older and have progressed from our volunteer and CIT programs. Our student volunteers are proud community service participants who assist in ensuring your child is safe and having the best summer ever.

Age-appropriate Activities Miami Country Day Camp tailors your child’s schedule with age-appropriate activities to ensure maximum fun and the best possible enrichment experience.

Facilities Miami Country Day School is one of the most advanced campuses in South Florida with 24hour security, a state-of-the-art weather alert system, and two full-time registered nurses, including Florida’s 2014 Nurse of the Year.

Lunch and Snacks Sage Dining Services provides a well-balanced, hot and cold lunch menu designed to make even the pickiest of eaters happy all summer long. A morning and afternoon snack is also provided for our campers and CITs. The menu is posted online for easy reference. Trip Campers receive a nutritious boxed lunch on days they are off campus.

Complimentary Transportation Miami Country Day Camp offers free bus service to our campers on a first-come, first-serve basis. We offer three pick up and drop off locations: Aventura Mall, Muss Park, and one new location that is yet to be determined. Pick up is at 8:20 AM and drop off is at 4:30 PM. All buses are equipped with seat belts and chaperoned by our very own Fungineers. Space is limited, so book soon to avoid disappointment. Door-to-door transportation is available for a fee through our long-time partner Americanus (305.933.2864).

Rising Grades [PK3 – 6] (Pre-K children must turn 3 before August 1 and must be potty trained) The Day Camp is our most popular summer program at Miami Country Day School. Day Campers benefit from a variety of activities, as well as special events based on the week’s theme.

June 20-24: Blast from the Past June 27-July 1: Safari Planet *July 5-8: Summer Spooktacular July 11-15: Welcome to Hollywood July 18-22: Festival of Colors July 25-29: Magical Mystery Tour August 1-5: Carnival Times *Camp is closed on Monday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

Typical Weekly Schedule While every day is different, we always start off with the Morning Blast-Off, the best dance party in South Florida! After the Blast-Off, campers travel with their friends to all sorts of different activities, including swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, arts and crafts, science, cooking, drama, fashion design, sports, martial arts, jewelry making, robotics, Lego, music, hip hop, yoga, computers, water works, archery, ACES animal lab, chess, DJ-ing, and more!

Additionally, we have weekly Friday Fun Day special events, featuring special guests and unique activities. Rest time is built-in for our youngest campers.

New for 2016 Electives (Rising Grades 2 - 6) Campers will design their own camp experience by selecting from a list of afternoon activities offered each week, such as sports, music, dance, arts and crafts, and more! All electives are tailored to fit campers’ wants and needs. Campers can stick with something they know and love or try something completely new and exciting... It’s up to them!

Swim Instruction & Water Sports Program All campers will receive daily swim instruction. Lessons will be tailored to campers’ ability. The water sports available to campers will include snorkeling, kayaking, and fishing.

Rising Grades [5 – 7] Trip campers will enjoy the most fantastic indoor and outdoor action that South Florida has to offer. This new camp includes three enrichment trips per week as well as a weekly beach visit and new Friday Fun Day activities on campus. All transportation, entry fees, and lunches are included.

The Counselor-In-Training program is open to students who have a passion for camp and want to become tomorrow’s camp leaders. Our 2016 CIT program has undergone several changes and is no doubt one of the best counselor training programs in the Miami area.

Our CITs enjoy a real camp experience as well as: • • •

Fun and educational training programs focused on child development and enrichment.

CPR and First Aid courses to ensure that they will be able to handle emergencies when needed.

Weekly beach or bowling trips as part of their field trip training.

Pricing for CIT Program 2 – 4 weeks $220/week 5 – 8 weeks $200/week All CITs must attend a minimum of two weeks in order to meet our CIT requirements.

Day Camp, Trip Camp, and CIT programs run June 13 through August 5, 2016.

Drop off is between 8:40 AM and 9:00 AM. Pickup is between 3:50 PM and 4:10 PM. It’s so easy: just roll through the turnaround, follow the Fungineer signals, and we’ll unload and load up your precious cargo for you. No need to even unbuckle your seatbelts.

Any campers remaining after 4:10 will be taken to Playhouse 90 and charged accordingly (see below).

Playhouse 90: Before and Aftercare Playhouse 90 offers a safe and educational environment for campers before and after their camp day. Early drop off starts at 7:30 AM and all campers must be picked up by 6:00 PM. • • •

Morning OR Afternoon: $60/week Morning AND Afternoon: $120/week $15 for individual sessions

Movie Nights Miami Country Day Camp is hosting Movie Nights every Friday during the 2016 summer session. Let us provide dinner and a movie for your camper, while you get a Date Night!

Registration opens each week, and the cost is $15 per child.

Summer Swim Team and Swim School Miami Country Day Aquatics offers opportunities after camp for those campers who want additional private swim instruction or want to venture into the world of competitive swimming. Please visit our summer programs website for additional information on these options.

Please note that registration for the following week closes at midnight on Saturday. A late registration fee of $50 will be charged to any registration received Monday morning. We do not accept any Sunday registrations after June 6, 2015.

Pay just one flat price and enjoy a wide selection of camp weeks. Discounts are only available in the packages listed on page 4. Single weeks added later will be charged the single week price.

Refund Policy There are no refunds after June 1, 2016.
