PERFORMING ARTS VENUES
Miami’s fusion of genres and cultures creates an electrifying atmosphere. From classical symphonies to pulsating electronic beats, the destination offers a diverse range of musical experiences that cater to all tastes.
The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Miami hosts touring Broadway shows as well as performances by its resident companies: Miami City Ballet, Florida Grand Opera and the New World Symphony. The New World Symphony also performs at the New World Center, its cutting-edge space in South Beach designed by Frank Gehry.
The Miami Beach Bandshell is an enchanting performance venue. Originally built in 1961, the charming amphitheater is on the National Register of Historic Places as a prime example of Miami Modern, aka MiMo architecture, found throughout the area of North Beach.
SHOPPING
With warm, sunny weather all year and blue skies decorated with swaying palm trees, it’s no wonder there are so many al fresco malls and shopping districts in Miami. Bal Harbour Shops, which opened in 1965, is Miami’s original indoor/outdoor luxury shopping destination. Anchored by Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus, it’s home to beloved designer shops such as Chanel, Prada and Tiffany & Co.
In South Beach, Lincoln Road is a classic destination for shopping, people-watching and enjoying lunch at an outdoor cafe. In Downtown Miami, Bayside Marketplace overlooks Biscayne Bay. It’s a prime spot for souvenirs and fun things to do, including boat tours and the Skyviews Miami observation wheel.
In posh Coral Gables, the Miracle Mile Shopping District is home to a range of fine shops, boutiques, galleries and restaurants. Farther south, in Pinecrest, The Falls is an open-air shopping center with lush tropical foliage and a milliongallon waterscape running through it.
The Miami Design District has taken shape over the last decade with upscale boutiques ranging from Hermès to Cartier,
all surrounded by a pastiche of cuttingedge architecture and interactive public art that transforms your shopping trip into an all-encompassing artistic experience. Brickell City Centre is a high-design outdoor shopping center in the heart of the financial district, where a hightech “climate ribbon” naturally cools the catwalks that lead to a mixture of high-end and approachable shops, from Giuseppe Zanotti to Zara and Sephora.
Miami is also home to a wealth of classic shopping malls, such as Dadeland Mall, Midway Crossings, Dolphin Mall and CityPlace Doral. For a true shopping extravaganza, check out Aventura Mall, the largest mall in Florida, where more than 300 retailers, a 93-foot-tall sculptural slide tower and dining options that rival the hippest food halls await eager shoppers.
The Moss Center, located in Cutler Bay, is a state-of-the-art facility for chamber music, dance, theater and community programming. Local companies, like the vocal ensemble Seraphic Fire, and touring musical acts perform here regularly.
SPORTS
From year-round sunshine to topof-the-line sporting facilities and championship-winning teams, Miami is a paradise for sports fans.
Miami hosts the Capital One Orange Bowl Football Game every year, and routinely hosts college football playoff and national championship games. Attending a professional sports game in Miami is an experience unto itself. The Miami Marlins play at ultramodern loanDepot Park, boasting a retractable roof. After making history in 2023 by hosting games in all three rounds of the World Baseball Classic, loanDepot Park will once again serve as a venue in March 2026 when it hosts pool play, quarterfinals, semifinals and the final.
The Florida Panthers will host the 2026 Discover NHL Winter Classic against the New York Rangers on January 2, 2026, at loanDepot Park.
This event marks the first outdoor regular-season hockey game in Florida and the southernmost outdoor matchup in National Hockey League history.
Hard Rock Stadium’s outpost of legendary nightclub LIV is the place to watch a Miami Dolphins game. The Miami Open brings top-level tennis to Hard Rock Stadium every spring. Hard Rock Stadium is also home to Formula 1 racing at the annual Miami Grand Prix.
And basketball fans must experience the excitement of cheering on the Miami HEAT to victory at the Kaseya Center, in the heart of Downtown Miami.
NEW IN 2025: THE REEFLINE
For NASCAR fans, Homestead Miami Speedway hosts adrenaline-pumping races.
Inter Miami CF made big waves in the soccer world when the club signed Lionel Messi. Its new stadium will open in 2026 at Freedom Park near Miami International Airport. In summer of 2026, all eyes will be on Hard Rock Stadium when it hosts World Cup matches.
Art is going deep in Miami Beach. Step outside of the traditional art gallery on land and slip on your snorkel mask and fins to swim The ReefLine, an environmental sculpture park that will soon adorn the ocean floor 600 feet offshore in Miami Beach. Whether you’re an art lover or a water enthusiast, get ready to take the plunge when The ReefLine opens in phases beginning in the second quarter of 2025.
