Muswell Hill Music Festival

We are delighted to present the inaugural festival, taking place from 8–13 July with a programme of events across Muswell Hill and the surrounding area. This artwork was designed by Mair Park specially for the first festival.

Works by J.S Bach with Helen Charlston & Amici Voices

At the opening concert, we turn to the music of one of the greatest composers that ever lived, Johann Sebastian Bach. Featuring star performers Helen Charlston and Louise Ayrton, highlights include the Partita in D minor for solo violin, Cantata ‘Vergnügte Ruh’, and choral work ‘Lobet den herrn’.

Come and Sing! family workshop

The morning will consist of a fun singing workshop, incorporating a range of songs and styles from countries around the world. We aim to allow anyone to take part: this workshop is provided free of charge, and no musical experience is required.

Compline by Candlelight

The ancient service of compline has provided the inspiration for this atmospheric programme, performed by one of the UK’s leading vocal consorts, The Gesualdo Six.

St Michael’s Highgate

The composer John Tavener grew up in Highgate, and Chapel Perilous presents a programme full of his music. One of his most famous pieces is ‘Song for Athene’, composed for the funeral of Princess Diana in 1997.

Jazz duo: the Great American Songbook

Ben Comeau (piano) and Alice McCarthy (voice) explore links between American and French popular music of the 20th century, including songs from the Great American Songbook.
