R olf Sorg is the kind of man who acts rather than talks. The global wellness powerhouse he has built is proof enough. CEO&Founder of PM-International AG, headquartered in Schengen, the entrepreneur has, in just over three decades, created a group present on several continents. The company’s growth has been driven by a global community of independent entrepreneurs and its flagship brand FitLine. This success is anything but accidental. In his case, everything seems to stem from a carefully constructed vision: an obsession with product quality, a confident international strategy, and a very refined understanding of the entrepreneurial mindset. When he founded his company in 1993, Rolf Sorg was only 29 years old. At the time, the dietary supplements industry had not yet reached the scale we know today, and the wellness sector remained a niche market. He already saw it as a land of opportunity. His intuition was simple: consumers would increasingly seek to take control of their own health, and they would demand effective products distributed through networks capable of building genuine trust. Thirty years later, that intuition has turned into a remarkable success story. FitLine products are distributed in more than 100 countries, and PMInternational has established itself as one of the leading players in functional nutrition. Yet behind this international expansion stands a surprisingly discreet man. Not one to seek the spotlight, Rolf Sorg prefers to speak about his teams, his partners, and the corporate culture he has built. As he likes to say: “We’re not just building a business — we’re building a legacy that improves people’s lives.” Dressed in a dark suit, with a direct gaze and a confident handshake, he welcomes his guests with the ease of someone who has nothing left to prove. The conversation begins, and very quickly one thing becomes clear: behind the economic success stands, above all, an entrepreneur driven by an almost instinctive understanding of business. It is precisely this vision — and the journey that made it possible — that we wanted to explore with him.

: When you look back at the path you have taken, what moment truly marked the turning point toward success? Over the last 33 years, there were quite a few turning points that defined success. However, it developed over time, slowly and steadily, through many small steps that built on each other. The important realization is: Success is a marathon, not a sprint. One of the biggest turning points for me was 1997. We were right at the beginning of building up the company with more than 20 million in sales, yet I started to notice that there was no liquidity in our accounts. I had to bite the bullet and ask my father for help – and looking back, I am extremely glad that I did. He was a well-established entrepreneur with a successful business, and just retired at that time. He had one hard look and then told me that we had too many international sales that were invoiced, yet not being paid. This of course resulted in great numbers in our books, yet the money never ended up being in our accounts. My father then went on to establish a very dedicated financial controlling. You cannot believe, how difficult it was for me to jump over my own shadow and ask my father for help, but he was there for me. This directly led to the second big turning point. Until then, I was mostly filling my day with the sales activities and meetings because it was most natural and fun for me. However, I noticed that this was just an excuse for me to stay in my comfort zone, and I wasn’t doing what’s necessary. I was too focused on sales and had to pivot my attention to the finance and operations of my company as well. So I divided my day into two parts, half sales, half operations and finance – and it worked. Within just one year, my role as CEO was completely changed, as well as our financial structure. Since 1998 – and until this day – PM-International is a financially very healthy company, and I have to thank my father for that. He gave me the insight and the push I needed. The journey included many more challenges, as every entrepreneurial path does. Each one needed reflection, changes, and a solutionoriented mindset. Over time, this perspective became second nature: “Problems” do not exist, it’s only in your head. Nothing is unsolvable, and the challenges we face are not barriers, they are opportunities to learn and improve. At its core, success was never about numbers alone. It was always about people. About creating real opportunities and offering a way to improve quality of life with PM-International’s business opportunity and our FitLine products. Seeing hundreds of thousands of people take that opportunity remains the most meaningful achievement and continues to be the driving force until today.
