A Message from the Parish Priest

Fr Noah Monday Mbabazi, MHM, Parish Priest

I am delighted to be part of this great Golden Jubilee celebration of St Jude’s Parish, Fundong. I would like to thank the Almighty God for His numerous blessings and mercy towards us and for the gift of life to all of us to see this great day. I wish to thank the Archbishop, His Grace Andrew Fuanya Nkea, first of all, for the sacrifice he has made to be present on this great day. I immensely thank him for his moral and spiritual support towards our Golden Jubilee celebration. I equally thank him for giving the Sacrament of Confirmation to hundreds of our Christians. May the good Lord grant him more health so that he can lead the flock entrusted to him. I thank the General Superior of Mill Hill Missionaries, the Very Rev Fr Michael Corcoran and his Councilors for the support he has given us during this Golden Jubilee celebration. I also thank Fr Innocent Akum Wefon, Mill Hill Representative in Cameroon, for the support, love and concern he has shown us. May God bless him! I thank my predecessors, especially Fr Josef Holznecht, RIP, for without the foundation of faith they laid, we could not have a reason to celebrate 50 years of Faith. As St Paul puts it: “I planted the seed, Apollos watered the plant, but it was God who made the plant grow.” (1Cor.3:6). So we continue to nurture the faith and God will surely make the faith grow. To my successors to come, I wish them good luck in continuing to nurture the seed of faith. I wish to thank my brother priests in this community, Fathers Johnson Tatah, Djam Leonard and Guylain Agbasoa, for the support they showed during the preparation for this Golden Jubilee celebrations. May the Almighty God bless them abundantly! I equally thank the Priests, Religious Brothers and Sisters from this Parish for always being there for us. We are proud of you. You are the fruits of Fr Josef, MHM. I am sure Fr Josef is looking at

us all and smiling. To the Infant Jesus Sisters, IJS, who are our collaborators in the pastoral ministry in the Parish for over a period of years, oh yes, you are part of this great story. I pray that together we will continue to build the faith of our Parish.

To the members of the Parish Pastoral Council, the Pastoral Formation Teams and the Golden Jubilee Committees and the entire Christian Community, I thank you. You are indeed great people. Let us celebrate! To the Paramount Fon of Kom, Fon Clement Ndzi II, we are grateful for all your support and love. May God bless you and bless your Fondom. To the Civil and Traditional Authorities, we are grateful to you. Whenever we call upon you, you are always besides us. May God bless you! To the Fundong Council led by Mayor Awoh Ndang Denis, we are grateful for your contribution for the success of this Golden Jubilee celebration. We know that you are always there for us. May God bless you! Today we shall lay a foundation stone of our Golden Jubilee project; a “Multipurpose Youth Centre”. With your support we are sure that we shall complete it. May we continue in the same commitment. Then, our good Lord will see us through. Our grandchildren and great grandchildren will tell our story. To our brothers and sisters all over the world coordinated by Dr Victor Waingeh, we love you so much and we know that wherever you are, you are celebrating. Thank you for the great contributions you have made and for making sure that this day is a great success. Only God can reward you! I cannot name everyone because the list is endless. I am sure that you have all supported us in one way or the other in all aspects. May the Almighty God bless and reward you abundantly. Thank you for your generosity. Let us all remember the theme of our Golden Jubilee: “Renewing the Faith with Courage and Charity” So in good times or in bad times, this theme will make us move ahead and continue to trust in our Lord.

May the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace; St Joseph, the Patron Saint of the Universal Church and St Jude Thaddeus, the Patron Saint of our Parish, intercede for us. Amen.

Fr Noah Monday Mbabazi, MHM
