2026 Limitless Cattle Sale Catalogue

Page 1

Welcome

THE Palmer family proudly welcomes you to the 2026 Cream of the Crop — a standout draft of Angus, Simmental and SimAngus genetics, bred with intent, vision and 19 years of dedicated investment in maternal excellence.

Look the part, work the part, and breed on — cattle bred from generations of strong maternal lines. Our program blends phenotype with data to deliver cattle that are functional and commercially relevant without sacrificing eye appeal — bred not just to perform today, but to improve herds for generations to come and look like proper beef cattle.

The 2026 offering showcases the momentum within our breeding program. This draft showcases the power of elite cow families including Dream, Wilcoola, Blackbird and Tattykeel Blackcap Essence, combined with leading sires such as Baldridge Versatile, Millah Murrah Rembrandt, Limitless Ace of Spades T59, DMM International and SAV Rainmaker. Each lot is the result of uncompromising standards.

Elite Show & Prospect Lots

This year we proudly offer one elite Angus show heifer from our renowned Dream cow family, a grand-daughter of our RAS interbreed Calf Champion, Angus Junior Champion and Top Three Interbreed Female — a heifer bred for headline performance and long-term brood value.

We have also made the decision to scale back our show campaigns while our boys are still young. As a result, the 2026 offering includes two exceptional prospect show steers, representing years of focused show steer breeding from our small show steer herd. Both are backed by genetics that we - and many others - have successfully campaigned with outstanding results across Australia.

All three prospect show lots are:

• Broken in

• On a grain ration

• The two steers are eligible for the Simmental

NSW State Branch Jackpot at the Sydney Royal Easter Show (Offering $15,000 for each Grand Champion win — on the hoof or on the hook)

Program Power & Integrity

Our breeding program is driven by female power. Continued investment into elite donor females remains the cornerstone of our operation, with influential additions shaping both our Angus, Simmental and SimAngus directions. These decisions, paired with Embryo transfer programs allow us to fast-track progress without compromising our core values. This year we implanted over 40 embryos in Holbrook, NSW recipient cow herd.

All bulls in this catalogue are:

• DNA tested through their respective breed societies

• Independently assessed and IMBS indexed by Dick Whale (VIC)

• Fertility tested, sire verified and fully vaccinated

• Fed under a “low and slow” nutrition program to ensure longevity and real production performance

A New Chapter

This year also marks a significant transition for our program. The Palmer family now independently own and operate both the BoonARKM and Limitless Cattle Co. herds, following the purchase of BoonARKM at the end of 2024. 2026 will be the final year we sell cattle under the BoonARKM prefix, as we unite under the Limitless Cattle Co. banner from 2027 — a year that also marks BoonARKM’s 20th year of breeding. Two herds - one future, built on the shared principles of quality, performance and integrity.

We remain deeply committed to breeding cattle that actually perform and look like bulls. Every decision is made with precision, purpose and long-term progress at heart.

Welcome to the 2026 Cream of the CropWhere maternal power meets performance.

YOUR EXTRA PAY CHEQUE STARTS HERE

Profit starts with the right bull

Introducing a Black Simmental bull over British-bred cows (like Angus, Hereford, Shorthorn etc) — or an Angus bull over European-influenced cows (Like Simmental, Limousin, Charolais etc.)

— unlocks hybrid vigour: more kilograms, better efficiency, and more dollars per calf.

Same cows. Same system.

Just change the bull.

10–20% more performance

Simmental × Angus calves deliver:

• Faster growth & heavier weaning weights

• Improved feed efficiency

• Greater overall productivity

Hybrid vigour lifts output without increasing inputs.

Can it pay for the bull?

Yes — often within the first calf crop.

• +25 – 40kg extra weaning weight per calf

• 25 calves = 600–1,000kg extra yield

• Achieved with no extra feed or management

Why Simmental over Angus cows?

3 10–20% faster growth to weaning & finish

3 10–15% improved carcase yield

3 Improved feed efficiency & calf vigour

3 Black-hided, polled progeny suited to Angus programs

No extra inputs

Same cows.

Same pasture.

Same management.

á The profit difference starts with the bull.

The bottom line

Hybrid vigour doesn’t cost — it pays. Your extra pay cheque starts here.

Start with Simmental.

Performance ranges based on published crossbreeding research, Simmental Australia data, MLA/FutureBeef resources, and industry benchmarks. Actual results will vary by environment and management.

Why this works

Hybrid vigour (heterosis) occurs when genetically different but complementary breeds are crossed, producing progeny that outperform the average of their parents. In beef production, this advantage shows up most clearly when:

• British breeds are crossed with Europeaninfluenced breeds

• Maternal strength is paired with growth, yield, and efficiency

• Systems prioritise profit per kilogram, not just breed loyalty

Black Simmental × Angus cows is one of the most proven examples of this principle in action.

Breed complementarity — not just crossbreeding

The success of the Black Simmental cross is no accident.

• Angus cows deliver fertility, early maturity, and proven maternal function

• Black Simmental bulls add growth, muscle, carcase yield, efficiency, and longevity Together, they produce cattle that are:

• Faster growing

• More efficient

• Structurally sound

• Commercially adaptable

This is planned complementarity, not random crossbreeding.

Why the Black Simmental type matters

Black Simmental cattle have been developed specifically to suit modern, market-driven beef systems.

with BLACK SIMMENTAL

They combine:

• Simmental performance and efficiency

• Angus influence for hide colour, polledness, and market acceptance

The result is progeny that:

• Remain black-hided and polled

• Meet specifications for Angus-aligned supply chains

• Deliver European performance without European penalties

This makes Black Simmental a low-risk, high-reward introduction for Angus-based herds.

More than growth — system resilience

While added kilograms are the most visible benefit, hybrid vigour also delivers:

• Improved fertility and conception stability

• Greater longevity and stayability

• Stronger immune response

• Better ability to cope with seasonal and nutritional pressure

These traits reduce risk across variable seasons and improve whole herd efficiency, not just individual calf performance.

A simple change compounding returns

One of the greatest strengths of this system is its simplicity.

• No change to cow herd structure

• No change to pasture or feed programs

• No additional labour or infrastructure

The benefits compound:

• From calf performance in the first year

• Through improved heifer fertility and longevity

• Across multiple calf crops from a single sire

Hybrid vigour starts immediately — and continues paying every year the bull works.

Setting up the data

(SEE NEXT PAGE)

With modern genetic tools, breed performance can now be compared objectively.

The following page outlines how:

• IGS Global Multi-Breed data allows direct comparison across breeds

• High-use Angus and Black Simmental sires perform across key traits

• Performance claims are supported by large-scale, real-world datasets

á Page 4 shows the data behind the advantage.

Key takeaways

Black Simmental bulls offer:

• A practical crossbreeding solution

• Proven hybrid vigour

• Market-aligned progeny

• And a clear pathway to higher whole-herd profitability

Not by changing your system - but by improving what it produces.

Attention Buyer -

Animal details included in this catalogue, including but not limited to pedigree, DNA information, Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs) and index values, are based on information provided by the breeder or owner of the animal. The BLACK SIMMENTAL ADVANTAGE

AN excellent extract from the 2025 St Pauls Genetics catalogue, included with permission, where Bill Cornell clearly outlines the performance and profitability advantages of Black Simmental over Angus and demonstrates how the breeds can be compared using global IGS data.

• Progeny with increased terminal growth of 10 to 20%.

• Increased maternal heterosis, retained heifers that can produce 25-30% more lifetime production. Heifers have 5% or better conception rates.

• Stayability and sustainability for a world looking for these traits.

• Progeny with more power and shape, better immune response.

• All progeny are black hided.

With all the above hybrid advantages. Many may be asked can sires of different breeds be compared. Through IGS Global Multi Breed data with over 22 million animals the answer is YES.

The table below shows a comparison of Angus and Black Simmental sires.

From the Australian Angus database 9 of the top 20 sires for most progeny in the previous 2 years to March 2024 are also in the IGS database with EPDs.

Compared to 3 Black Simmental sires. These sires are in the top 20 for Australian and USA sires for number of progeny.

Summary of the EPD averages of the Angus most used sires vs the 3 highly used Black Simmental sires based in the IGS Multi Breed Global Database.

The Black Simmental sires lead the Angus sires for Calving Ease, Weaning and Yearling Weight, Stayability, Docility, Yield Grade, Rib Eye Area and the All Purpose and Terminal Indexes. And similar in traits for Birth Weight, Milk, Maternal Calving Ease.

Hybrid Vigour/Heterosis is used in many agricultural production systems, here is an easy one for many commercial beef producers: Using black Simmental bulls over Angus commercial females, the black hide remains and no horns. The progeny fit many Angus branded product lines.

Review all the advantages of hybrid vigour -

• improved fertility, growth, longevity and immune response

• improved power, mass and general structure. So why not try a sire, chances are the purchase price will be less than an Angus but be more profitable!

A WIN, WIN, WIN situation.

* Author has used MARC data 1974 to present, Heartland Cattle Co and industry references and data for this article.

** Black Simmental have been developed over a 50 year period using Simmental and Angus genetics. Pure graded Black Simmental usually carry 15-20% Angus and 80 to 85% Simmental blood.

WHY THE MUMMA COW MATTERS

GREAT cows make great bulls.

In beef breeding, sires often take centre stage. Sale catalogues highlight EBVs, growth figures, and fashionable pedigrees. But behind every great bull is something far more influential and far more permanent: a great cow.

From a genetic standpoint, the science is clear. Each calf receives 50% of its genetics from the sire and 50% from the dam. That part is non-negotiable. However, genetics alone don’t tell the whole story of herd performance.

While genetics are split 50/50 between sire and dam, the cow has a greater overall influence on herd performance due to her maternal traits and lifetime impact

The cow shapes the calf long before birth and continues to influence its performance every day of its life. Fertility, gestation environment, calving ease, milk production, temperament, structure, and longevity all stem from the cow. These traits underpin efficiency and profitability in real-world systems.

Why the cow matters most (key points):

• She raises the calf — uterine environment, birth, milk, and early growth

• She must rebreed consistently — fertility drives kilograms sold

• She stays in the herd — producing multiple calves over many years

• Her influence compounds — generation after generation

• She sets the baseline — soundness, temperament, and durability

Many economically important maternal traits — such as fertility, longevity, and milk — have low to moderate heritability. This means progress is made through disciplined cow selection over generations, not quick fixes. Bulls bred from proven cows are far more likely to transmit these hard-to-measure, profit-driving traits.

This is why buying bulls from strong maternal programs matters. Bulls are not created in isolation.

They are the product of years — often decades — of female selection. If the cows behind them lack fertility, soundness, or efficiency, those weaknesses eventually surface, no matter how impressive the bull looks on paper.

When buying a bull, ask:

• What is his dam like — and how old is she?

• How many calves has she raised?

• Is she still fertile, sound, and productive?

• Does the cow family perform under real conditions?

In the long game of cattle breeding, sires may set direction — but cows determine success.

That’s why the mumma cow matters.

WHY ARE WE NEOGEN IGENITY TESTING?

THIS is a genomic test that has been available through Neogen for more than 5 years measuring 17 different traits using TSU’s or hair samples. We are conducting this testing to complement current Breedplan data. This Testing records results on a 1-10 scoring system, and the data is validated by the International Genetics Solutions (IGS) database, which consists of over 26 million records.

The Angus Breed has made great progress this century particularly in growth rate, maternal and direct calving ease, and improved carcase traits. But there has been little emphasis on how long cows last in the commercial herd, and how much each animal eats.

New Traits Available through Igenity Beef Profiling

The trait with no consideration currently with Angus Breedplan is Stayability, which is the ability of a sire to produce daughters that remain in your commercial herd until at least 6 years of age. This selection trait has been available in some breeds in the USA for more than 20 years, Red Angus and Simmental are 2 of these breeds. Bulls in the top 25% for this trait in these breeds have daughters producing 2 extra calves in their lifetime, compared to bulls in the bottom 25% for this trait.

Carcase tenderness is another trait of great importance that is available through Igenity Beef testing. This is how easy the eye muscle cuts using the Warner Bratzler test. Animals that are high under this test, combined with high marbling, are carcases that will deliver beef consumers a positive eating experience.

Neogen Igenity Beef test gives us a direct genomic selection for actual carcase marbling, not IMF%, which is a correlation to carcase marbling.

With the feedlot traits average daily gain (ADG), residual feed intake (RFI), and the carcase traits marbling, HSCW, EMA, and rib fat, this system has a very high correlation in excess of 90% with animals tested and followed through the feedlot to the rail.

The other trait that is regularly overlooked in cattle production is feed efficiency. We believe the Angus cattle today consumes significantly more feed than 20 years ago. Yes, they have more growth, but do they convert feed efficiently. Angus Australia has an EBV for Net Feed Efficiency (NFI) yet choose not to use this trait in their selection indexes. Neogen measure and report Residual Feed Intake (RFI) and include this in their indexes. These two traits are basically the same measuring feed consumed relative to animal maintenance and performance needs.

Remember in times of drought feed generally climbs to $500+/ tonne delivered farm.

The most surprising finding in testing a significant number of commercial herds over the last 3 years, is how much each herd varies. Some have excellent growth and carcase traits, and poor Stayabilty and RFI, while others are the complete opposite.

With this additional information available through Neogen Igenity Beef we believe this information will assist us to breed a more feed efficient cow herd, with lower methane emissions, producing more calves in their lifetime. Their progeny will have superior marbling and tenderness, which is extremely important when beef is 3.5 times more expensive than chicken.

Out of a legendary HF Tiger x Blackbird daughter. Longevity runs deep in the veins of this bull — his granddam remained in production here until 14 years of age. HF Tiger daughters are excellent milkers, producing deep, soft progeny. We loved the overall eye appeal and capacity of this bull. He sold as an 18-month-old to a repeat commercial client. A strong carcase bull for adding meat to calves — and he would also make outstanding show steers. Sold per straw. Stored at Limitless Cattle Co. Buyer to incur all shipping and handling costs.

Buyer’s Choice of 3 or 6 Embryos

We love everything about this female and are thrilled to share a mating of this quality with the wider Simmental breed and beef industry. A powerful young donor with a unique pedigree blend, sired by Hobbs Livestock Renowned Merchant R4. She exemplifies everything we admire in the Hobbs Livestock program — femininity, eye appeal, and exceptional doing ability. She has flushed exceptionally well, freezing 18 embryos across two IVF rounds, and has since gone into calf on the first round of AI. Very docile, with good feet and legs, and backed by an exceptionally strong maternal line featuring influential sires such as MRL Missile and Mr NLC Upgrade. Her maternal depth is proven, with one granddam recording 83 registered progeny. Joining sire, LBRS Genesis G69, offers breed-leading maternal donors stacked deep in his pedigree. Genesis ranks in the top 1% of the breed for Weaning Weight, Yearling Weight, Carcase Weight, and Marbling. Seller’s Guarantee: On the purchase of six (6) embryos, the seller guarantees two (2) confirmed pregnancies when implanted by an approved technician. Sold per embryo. Stored at Holbrook Vets. We are happy to assist with sourcing recipients. Buyer to incur all shipping and handling costs.

Dear Valued Customers,

We highly recommend that all animals purchased at our sale be insured, especially for the first six months of their working life. We prioritise the health and wellbeing of our livestock and want to emphasise that the responsibility for the bulls will be transferred to the buyer once the sale is completed. We appreciate your understanding and co-operation in this matter.

Additionally, bulls are welcome to remain at our home farm after the sale while transportation arrangements are finalised. However, the maximum duration for their stay is two weeks, unless alternative arrangements have been made. Please ensure that all animals are insured during this period.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to assisting you with your purchases.

Bull Management and Handling

When introducing your new bull to his new environment we recommend having a suitable group of animals yarded to help reduce stress and allow him to settle in quickly.

Our bulls are presented for sale in joining condition, but it’s crucial to maintain their nutrition. Regular monitoring will help prevent injury and ensure they remain in good working order. Post-joining, we strongly advise drenching and placing the bull in a good pasture paddock to support recovery and maintain body condition.

• Entry into cattle pens is at your own risk.

• Children are not permitted in the pens.

• All visitors attending the sale do so at their own risk. The vendor accepts no responsibility, legal or otherwise, for any accidents or incidents that may occur.
