DK Veterans Club Presidents Message
March 2026
DK Veterans Club is dedicated to supporting our veterans in our community by encouraging them to participate in all the activities, to help with any needs they may have – transport to activities, food, assistance with small household chores, information of benefits offered to veterans etc.
The DK Veterans Club has new board members:
President: Jim Davis – (916) 997-2655
Vice President – Al Martinez (616) 433-9742
Secretary / Treasurer – Brenda Phillips (408) 656-9652
All Veterans are welcome to join our monthly meetings held every 2nd Monday of each month, held n the BYC. Check the Kronicle every month for updates.
We have applied for Non-Profit status. Any donations to the club will be tax deductible.
We will be starting an Honor Wall in the BYC, adding photos of our veterans which will include them displaying their memorabilia. With permission from our veterans, Brenda will start visiting the veterans to hear their story & get some photos. In March she will call beforehand to set up a date and time.
We are asking for donations for free raffle prizes for our veterans luncheons (stay tuned for dates) – for male/female – alcohol, unused toiletries, blankets etc.
Here’s to a Healthy & Happy 2026
Jim Davis President

Please join our membership! The cost is nominal, only $12 per person for the whole year. Don’t just sit at home being lonely when you can get involved and make new friends! If you need a ride to the events, we have a group of people willing to pick you up. You will find the phone # to call in

Every homeowner is a member of the HOA yet only about 7% attend Quarterly Meetings…free information & education on Civil Codes in the Mobilehome Residency Law (trump park rules).
▪ What rights do mobilehome owners have?
▪ Would you know if they’re being violated?
Join us to address issues and concerns…share ideas on how to build homeowner interest ☺
The undeniable unaffordability of MH living is a sadly neglected national crisis
The HOA Board is preparing to advocate for rent protection @ city/state/federal levels
The Ranch House (a Roseville treasure…the ‘oldest’ building & ‘Significant’ designation in the city’s Charter) was closed in 2015 due to “structural damage”. An Engineering Study after the 2014 Napa earthquake found gaps up to 6” between brick façade/interior walls!
Cosmetic renovations began in 2023 but our concerns re specific hazardous reasons it was factually declared uninhabitable in 2015 weren’t taken seriously
We have asked for verification to ensure its compliance with California Earthquake Standards so DK homeowners can safely enjoy this historic building!
Overnight towing
A major issue for several years...multiple calls and complaints about Anderson’s tow service sweeping through DK overnight
HOA Board discussed it with On-site and Regional Managers (both unaware of all the facts). We were assured they'd look into the contract (which neither had seen) and get back to us. We'll keep you posted.
Daylight Saving Time March 8th Spring begins March 20th
AARP “tax filing” ☺
Might still be time to make your appointment at a local venue! aarp.org/findtaxhelp or 888-227-7769 916-741-0932
Details in April’s Kronicle (if it’s published & distributed before end of March) but even if you don’t have details, meetings are always fun and informative ☺
Let Michele Moenning or Joyce Andes know by April 1st if you’re coming.
AARP 15% discount if you choose to eat!
We’re rethinking the way we advertise HOA events…“month-of” hasn’t worked out too well lately (recent Kronicle publisher delays/equipment problems, etc.) so we’ll be putting info on HOA events in the magazine a month or two early!!!

SATURDAY BUNCO IN THE MANSION
We are looking for more players for our Saturday BUNCO! It's so fun. If you have never played, we will teach you. Tables of 4 make up the game. It is simple; roll the dice; bring a little money (cost is $10.00); meet friends (old and new) and laugh a lot. If you can’t commit, be a substitute!
We will play on the 3rd Saturday of the month in the mansion from 11 a.m. until 2:00p.m. Everyone is welcome so if you would like to join us or need more information, please call me at 916-757-1725. Please leave a message with your name and phone # on my answering machine.

How to solve sudoku puzzles
No math is required to solve a sudoku. You only need logic and patience.
Simply make sure that each 3x3 square region has only one instance of the numbers 1-9. Similarly, each number can only
appear once in a column or row in the larger grid. The difficulty on this puzzle is easy.

The Lighter Side 25 Gallons of Milk
An attractive blonde heard that milk baths would make her beautiful. She went to the grocery store and asked the manager to find 25 gallons of whole milk.
The manager felt there must be a mistake, "You mean 2.5 gallons of whole milk?"
The blonde replied, "No, I want 25 gallons. I'm going to fill my bathtub and take a milk bath so I can look young and beautiful again."
"OK," he said, "But do you want it pasteurized?"
"No, just up to my neck. I can splash it on my eyes."
The Sign
A boss was complaining in a staff meeting the other day that he wasn't getting any respect. Later that morning he went to a local sign shop and bought a small sign that read, "I'm the Boss". He then taped it to his office door.
Later that day when he returned from lunch, he found that someone had taped a note to the sign that said. "Your wife called, she wants her sign back!"
High Blood Pressure
When a physician remarked on a new patient's extraordinarily ruddy complexion, he said, "High blood pressure, Doc. It comes from my family."
"Your mother's side or your father's?" the doctor asked.
"Neither, it's from my wife's family."
"Oh, come now," the doctor said. "How could high blood pressure come from your wife's family?"
The man sighed. "You oughta meet 'em sometime, Doc!"
