Customer Assistance Program Do You Qualify for a Water Bill Discount?

SJW's Customer Assistance Program (CAP), formerly known as Water Rate Assistance Program (WRAP), provides a 15% discount

on the total water bill for eligible low-income customers. To qualify, you must meet the following

requirements:

The San Jose Water bill must be in your name, or you must be a sub metered tenant in a mobile home park.

You may not be claimed as a dependent on another person's tax return.

You must reapply each time you move.

You must notify San Jose Water within 30 days if you become ineligible for WRAP. If you

were a participant in the WRAP program, you do not need to reapply for the new CAP program.

Note: If you are currently not on SJW's CAP program but you are a PG&E rate

assistance CARE participant, you must still submit a CAP application to receive

the 15% discount.

Peppermint Brownies cup of salted butter, plus more for the pan 4 oz. bittersweet chocolate, broken into pieces 1

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 2 cups of sugar

3 large eggs

1 Tbsp. peppermint extract

11/4 cups of all-purpose flour 1/2 cup of semisweet chocolate chips Crushed candy canes or peppermints, for topping

Directions 1 Preheat the

oven to 3500F. Butter an 8-inch square baking pan. Line the pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on 2 sides; lightly butter the parchment.

2 In a medium saucepan, melt the

butter and bittersweet chocolate over medium-

low heat, stirring, about 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and whisk in the cocoa

powder until smooth. Let cool slightly, for about 5 minutes.

3 Stir the sugar into the chocolate mixture until well combined. Stir in the

eggs, one

at a time, and mix until well combined. Stir in the peppermint extract. Add the flour

and gently stir until completely combined.

4 Pour the batter into the pan and spread evenly. Tap the pan on the counter to release any air bubbles. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center

clean, about 40 minutes (do not

comes out

over bake). Let cool until firm enough to easily lift from the pan using the parchment paper, for about 25 minutes. Lift out of the pan and transfer to a rack to cool completely.

5 Put the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave at 50

percent power in 30-second intervals, stirring, until melted. Drizzle over the brownies and sprinkle with crushed candy. Let's set before serving.

OOptional topping: crunchy tortilla strips 014.5 ounces canned black beans drained and rinsed

Instructions Add all the ingredients into a pot and place over medium-high heat and allow to slow boil.

Reduce heat to Iow. Cover partially with a lid and cook for 20

minutes.

For the last 5 minutes of cooking time remove the lid and allow it to continue to simmer. Remove from heat and let it sit off the heat for 5 minutes before serving. This will allow it to thicken up and cool off a bit.

White Hot Chocolate Ingredients cups milk 11/2 cups half-and-half 3/4 cup white chocolate chips, plus more for topping 1/2 tsp. kosher salt 2

11/2 tsp. vanilla extract mini marshmallows, for topping

Directions 1 Heat the milk and half-and-half in a saucepan

over medium-low heat.

Stir in % cup white chocolate chips until melted, then stir in the salt and

vanilla.

2 Pour into mugs and top with mini marshmallows and more white

chocolate chips.
