Millennium Memo At The Copa
The application period for a SPARC/Millennium College Scholarship typically runs from May 1-Aug. 1, with awards announced mid-August. That’s worked pretty well, as Copacabana has winners in 16 of the last 17 years.
But times change, and recent feedback tells us that many students have already left for college by then. Therefore, starting this year, applications will be accepted starting on April 1, with a cut-off date of July 1 just moving things up a month.
This was mentioned in last month’s Magazine, but I wanted to make sure all of Copa’s scholars were aware of the change. If you’re interested, make sure you apply. We want to keep Copa’s winning streak going!
In Less Scholarly News
• April is when we prepare a draft Budget for the new Fiscal Year. We’ve fixed or replaced pretty much everything in the Park, but if you have any ideas for next year’s Wish List, let Shirley know or drop me a note. We’d love your input.
• Recent expenditures: $15K progress payment on the new Pool Bathrooms, and $13K deposit toward the Sewer Cleanout Project. Your Rent Dollars at Work!
• Copacabana’s bonds were “affirmed” at an A+ rating, which

is very high for a mobilehome park financing. I’m probably more excited about that than you are, but I felt like bragging.
If You’re a Mother…
…or grandmother or aunt, you’ll want to sign up for the SPARC’s May 2 Mother’s Day Event. Bring your daughter (or niece or granddaughter along) along as well.
You’ll get breakfast, enjoy a painting class (courtesy of Paint the Town), a Spa Basket Raffle…isn’t that a fun way to spend a Saturday?
Thanks to Devin & the folks at SPARC, our resident services partner, for sponsoring.
In Case You Were Wondering

IMPORTANT REMINDER TO ALL RESIDENTS:
Home and Homesite Maintenance
Please help keep our community looking its best by storing items that belong in a shed rather than leaving them on driveways or around the exterior of your home. Keeping these items neatly organized in your shed helps maintain a clean and orderly appearance throughout the park.
Park Management encourages all residents to maintain their homes and homesites in good condition. We understand that many residents may wish to make improvements or changes to their homes or spaces, and we appreciate the pride you take in your homes. To help ensure all projects meet park requirements, please remember that any additions, alterations, or exterior modifications to your home or homesite must receive written approval from Park Management before work begins.
Projects that are started without prior written authorization may be required to stop immediately until proper approval has been obtained. In addition, digging anywhere on your homesite is strictly prohibited unless it has first been authorized by management.
If you are planning a project or improvement, please contact the office before starting so we can assist you through the approval process. Working together helps keep our community safe, organized, and enjoyable for everyone.

The tradition of chocolate Easter bunnies dates back to 19th century America, which borrowed it—and the Easter Bunny from Germany. Sales started to take off around 1890, after a Pennsylvania man named Robert L. Strohecker featured a 5 chocolate rabbit in his drugstore as an Easter promotion.

• Everyone needs a friend who is all ears.
• There is no such thing as too much candy.
• All work and no play makes you a basket case.
• Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day.

How to solve sudoku puzzles
April Sudoku
No math is required to solve a sudoku. You only need logic and patience.
Simply make sure that each 3x3 square region has only one instance of the numbers 1-9. Similarly, each number can only
appear once in a column or row in the larger grid. The difficulty on this puzzle is easy.
The headline is a clue to the answer in the diagonal.
