Hello everyone - have you notice that the heat has stayed very close to 100 degrees, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be cooling down very soon. Actually, if I remember correctly, September was usually the hottest month of the year. Some of you might have noticed that I cheated – I took a short vacation to Washington State and had a chance to cool down and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s, but back to the 100’s now.
Many of the lots in our community are looking so much better. Some are even doing serious upgrading; like new windows, new paint, new porches, etc. A big THANK YOU to all those who are making improvements and keeping their grounds top notch.
However, speed is still an issue. I realize that I drive slower than most, I keep my speed at around 10 MPH and slow to 5 MPH for the speed bumps. I realize the speed limit in the community is 15 MPH so I’m probably an aggravation to a lot of people. Actually just the other evening an animal, a skunk, ran out into the street just in front of me and I barely got stopped in time. That could have been a dog or cat, some ones pet. In fact just a while ago when coming into the park driving north on Saddleback Drive I noticed a little black kitten in the road. He had very recently been hit by a car and the driver either didn’t know or didn’t have time to stop and take care of his little body. Another resident and I picked him up and disposed of the body. Broke my heart. I have recently transformed my two cats to “house cats” as I didn’t want to find their bodies on the street.
Another gripe of mine is listening to or reading all the complaining! I have lived here for 34 years and couldn’t live anywhere half as nice for the price. You would pay over $800/monthly for a room with kitchen privileges, or $1800/monthly for a 1 bedroom apartment, and over $3000/monthly for seniors housing. So lets just be thankful for the community that we are able to live in with friendly neighbors, some amenities, and the safety of a community. I know there are going to be some that question the safety issue, but when was the last time something of yours was stollen from your home unless you left it outside and not locked up.
God’s blessings to each and every one of you !
Linda Tait, Country Lake Social Club
Recycle day is Thursday every week
Please help support this magazine, the “Home of the Month” award and other special events by placing your empty and clean plastic and aluminum beverage containers on your post each Thursday morning by 9:00 am for pick up. We have gracious volunteers that make the rounds in the community to pick up these items for recycle. Please, no food bottles and no Glass. Thank you for your consideration and donations. Just a couple of things you can do to help:
1. Only water and juice bottles
2. Please Rinse all containers
3. Only aluminum cans like soda and beer cans
No Pick-ups will be done of rainy days or holidays ! ! !
A very special thank you to all those volunteers
Congratulations ! Space 280

Is there something missing in this picture ???? YES there is! The rules of Country Lake specify that when walking your dogs, they are required to be on leash. I understand that some of you think that your dogs are so well behaved that the leash isunnecessary, howeverit isstill the rule.
A MUCH BETTER EXAMPLE
Also please remember to pick up after your dogs. There are “poop bags” located conveniently with receptacles for excrement.
Please be considerateof others when you’re walking your dog. Even if your dog is “friendly” some people are not comfortable around dogs so be sure to confirm their feelings before you let your dog get to close.

August Sudoku
How to solve sudoku puzzles
No math is required to solve a sudoku. You only need logic and patience.
Simply make sure that each 3x3 square region has only one instance of the numbers 1-9. Similarly, each number can only
appear once in a column or row in the larger grid. The difficulty on this puzzle is easy.
