









The Critics Choice Association is comprised of approximately 600 entertainment critics and journalists who review and cover film, television and documentaries.
Founded 30 years ago by Joey Berlin, Rod Lurie and 42 founding members, the CCA is now the largest critics organization in the U.S. and Canada.
The inaugural Critics Choice Awards were presented in 1996.

Applicants must be professional film critics or entertainment journalists whose coverage is available on a regular basis to a wide audience.
Only members of the CCA can vote for the Critics Choice Awards.
CCA’s Membership Directors constantly monitor outlets and postings of its members to ensure all CCA members are working critics.
The CCA membership list is always available to anyone to view at criticschoice.com.

In 2024 CCA conducted an extensive Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Survey of the membership.

The Critics Choice Association is the industry leader in honoring underrepresented groups in Hollywood through a series of four distinctive diversity celebrations, each spotlighting LGBTQ+, Black, Latino, and AAPI communities.
