SCILLA AND REGGIO FULL DAY EXCURSION

WITH APERITIF ON BOARD

Following in the footsteps of Ulysses you will move towards Scilla, a mythological rocky ridge narrated by Homer, stretching towards two bays of striking beauty: Marina Grande with its sandy beach and the fishing village of Chianalea. water, its alleys and the typical shelters for boats among the alleys, and the Ruffo castle perched on the Scilla promontory, whose millenary history testifies to its strategic role in the control of the Strait of Messina. From its overlooking the sea, we will enjoy a unique view: the mouth of the Strait, the Aeolian Islands, up to Capo Vaticano. Transfer to Reggio Calabria, where on the seafront in a splendid gazebo overlooking the strait we will enjoy an excellent aperitif (incorrectly defined as such because for the quantity and quality of the foods that will be offered, accompanied by a large non-alcoholic fruit drink, it can be easily defined as a lunch). In the afternoon the visit resumes, we will leave from the National Museum of Magna Graecia which houses the famous Riace Bronzes as well as countless wonders of

Magna Graecia. Leaving the Museum, the visit will continue with a walk along the Lungomare defined by D’Annunzio as “the most beautiful kilometer in Italy”, a stop in the most famous and characteristic ice cream parlor in Reggio Calabria “Cesare”, the kiosk, located at the beginning of the promenade, since 1918 it has been offering artisanal ice creams made with love and with the best raw materials; it will be nice to continue the walk enjoying one of them .... just a few steps and you will be on Corso Garibaldi, known as the “living room” of the city and the main street to get to the Duomo and finally the Aragonese castle which will offer a breathtaking view of the city and the strait.
