Treetops Glisten” event, presented by Mason General Hospital Foundation, will take place November 18 - 22 at The Pavilion at Sentry Park in Shelton, immersed in a setting of sparkling, beautifully decorated Christmas trees. “We have an awesome group of healthcare providers in our community, and Mason General has so much to offer us all,” said Sarah Stevens, co-chair of the event. “For Mason General to continue to be a front-runner in healthcare, we need to come together annually, raising funds for needed medical equipment. ason General Hospital will celebrate its 40th Anniversary this month, in a 3-day festive event reflecting on the hospital’s ‘40 years of Caring’ and promoting fitness, health, and safety for the whole family. Presented by hospital staff, volunteers, and community participants, it all takes place at the hospital from Thursday, October 30 through Saturday, November 1, and is Free and open to the whole community. MGH’s 40th Anniversary event offers something for everyone – even a chance to win a Nintendo Wii game and Wii Fit – in a unique atmosphere of fun and learning. Featuring a special comedian guest speaker, hospital tours and history, and a health fair complete with a

Thursday, October 30 - Entertainment The event kicks off on Thursday at 6 p.m., with special guest speaker and comedian, Brad Nieder, M.D. Known as ‘The Healthy Humorist’, Dr. Nieder makes ‘laughter the best medicine,’ as he entertains and educates with a unique blend of comedy and healthcare advice. He discovered improvisational comedy before going to medical college, and performed standup comedy in Denver while attending the University of Colorado Medical School. This FREE event is Thursday at 5:30 p.m. with light hors d’oeuvres. Reservations are required, as there is only room for 200, by calling (360) 427-9551. Mason General Hospital Named 2008 “Most Wired” Hospital Patient Satisfaction Higher at “Most Wired” Hospitals

ason General Hospital was recently named to the nation’s “Most Wired – Rural” hospitals, according to the results of the 2008 Most Wired Survey and Benchmarking Study released in the July issue of Hospitals & Health Networks magazine. The 100 “Most Wired” hospitals show better outcomes in patient satisfaction, risk-adjusted mortality rates, and other key quality measures through the use of information technology (IT), according to a new analysis.
