Minneapolis Golf Club is one of the rare few classics—the result of a collaboration between two giants of the Golden Era of golf course design, Willie Park Jr. and Donald Ross.

A MASTERFUL RESTORATION

Our recent comprehensive course modernization has gloriously enhanced every blade of grass, while fully returning MGC to its classic intent.

The renovation is highlighted by open fairways, new bent grass greens, tees and fairways, a state-of-the-art irrigation system, and thicker roughs that set players up nicely for larger green complexes and inventive hole locations.

STEWARDS OF THE GAME

Beginning with our very first tournament, the Minnesota State Open, we’ve served a significant role in supporting both amateur and professional golf. We grew in national prominence as host of the United States Amateur in 1950 and welcomed one of golf’s majors, the PGA Championship in 1959.

A COMMITMENT TO THE GAME

We’re proud of our continued prominence in the sport, with up-and-coming players discovering us through U.S. Open Local Qualifying tournaments and a variety of Minnesota-focused events. We’ve also hosted qualifying events for both the USGA Senior Open and USGA Senior Amateur.

INVITATIONS TO PLAY

Our Member-Guest Invitational and Member-Member tournaments are legendary in the golfing community—in fact, our Invitational is well known among local golfers as one of the can’t-miss events in the region.

In addition to endless opportunities for both competitive and social play, we also pride ourselves on our active men’s, women’s and junior leagues and groups, and a regular schedule of events and activities to encourage participation by all of our members.
