The Physical Education Department is a fundamental part of Manor House School, offering a wide variety of sporting activities within and outside of the curriculum. From seasonal team games such as Netball, Hockey, Football And Cricket, all of which we offer as ‘come and play’ recreational clubs in addition to team practices and competitive fixtures against other schools. To less traditional sports, such as Rugby and Taekwondo.

Girls are also able to participate in tennis, badminton, swimming, trampolining and gymnastics. Athletics is offered in the Summer Term across the Prep and Senior School and we compete at local, District and National level.

Our Manor House Tennis Academy offer both group lessons from Year 2 upwards, held before school and 1:1 session’s which are delivered during the school day. This is in addition to the performance squad training sessions. Our gymnastics squad train with an external coach to prepare for District competitions and our squad girls often support at gymnastics club which is open to all.

Manor House girls are actively encouraged to participate in both team and individual sports, building their self-confidence and encouraging a positive attitude towards physical activity.

There are a variety of ‘Come & Play’ sessions held during and after school for a more relaxed and fun atmosphere in which to enjoy a sporting activity. For our Scholars and Gifted and Talented girls a ‘Strength and Conditioning’ programme is offered in addition to all the usual sporting activities. Sport practice sessions are scheduled according to year groups at lunchtimes, on a daily basis, and competitive matches are played against local schools and in District and Country Championships.
