It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to our 15th Annual Bull Sale. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our loyal customers, friends, and family for your continued support and trust in our breeding programs.
Whether through purchases made at our annual bull sale or directly off the farm, your patronage means the world to us.
This year has been an outstanding one for the cow-calf business, and we are hopeful that this success will continue for years to come—after all, we’ve waited long enough for this! The Charolais industry is flourishing, with Charolais cross calves consistently leading the market.
Our primary objective remains to raise high-quality bulls that can help you enhance your bottom line. To ensure we are always offering the best genetics available, we’ve continuously introduced new sires to our herd bull lineup. This year, we’re especially excited to present offspring from several new sires, alongside progeny from some of our most trusted and proven herd sires. The new genetics, sourced from some of the Charolais industry’s top breeding herds, have us particularly excited for the future.
We were thrilled to welcome Russell Gallelli to our sales group last year, and this year, he has more than doubled his offering of yearling Charolais bulls. With years of experience raising high-quality Charolais cattle, Russell’s passion for the breed and the cattle industry is contagious. Additionally, Shelby and Marsha are expanding their herd and will be offering some of their finest progeny in this year’s sale.
Garth Cutler of Circle G Simmentals has once again assembled an exceptional group of yearling bulls for this year’s sale. Garth’s unwavering commitment to selecting only the best genetics for his customers is evident in the impressive bulls he’s bringing to market.
Videos of the bulls will be posted on DLMS a few weeks before the sale. We also invite you to visit our farms at any time before the sale to view the bulls in person. Additionally, the bulls will be available for viewing at the Innisfail Auction Market on the Thursday afternoon before sale day. If you are unable to attend on sale day, please take advantage of online bidding via DLMS or contact any of the sales staff to place bids on your behalf.
Thank you once again for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you at the sale.
Sincerely

BW: Birth Weight - a prediction of sire’s ability to transmit birth weight to his progeny...a lower value indicates lighter BW.
CE: Calving Ease - A higher value indicates increased calving ease.
WW: Weaning Weight – predictor of sire’s ability to transmit weaning growth to his progeny.
YW: Yearling Weight – predictor of sire’s ability to transmit yearling growth to his progeny.
MCE: Maternal Calving Ease - Indicates the ease which a sire’s daughters calve...a higher value indicates higher calving ease.
MWT: Maternal Weaning Weight - Indicates the WW of a bulls daughter’s calves when compared to other bull’s daughters.
Milk: A predictor of sire’s genetic merit for milk and mothers ability as expressed in her daughters.
API: All-Purpose $ Index - Evaluates sires for use on the entire cowherd. Includes daughters retained to maintain herd size and the remaining heifers and the steers put on feed with their carcass grade and quality.
TI: Termiinal Index - ranks animals based on their relative genetic merit for a situation in which Simmental sires are mated to a mature Angus cow herd. All calves are placed on feed and sold on a value based marketing

90L puts it all together in one package. He has a smooth attractive head, a wide top, and a square hip. He is structurally sound and has superior foot structure. Notice his large dark pigmented scrotum and tight sheath. His dam 160B is one of our top cows from the 63U cow family. Lots of milk and great udder. A full brother in the 2023 sale to Nester Ranching. 90L would work in a variety of programs.
Dam to Lot 1
24L is one of the most impressive and complete bulls in the sale. He certainly took advantage of his heavy-milking mother ranking 2nd in the group with a WW of 112. He capped that off with a YW ratio of 113. His carcass numbers are well above average with an 18.42-inch REA and an equally impressive marbling score of 4.20. He will add extra length and depth to any calf crop.
49L is a moderate birth weight bull with smooth shoulders. He is an extremely long-bodied bull with great performance. He is packed full of red meat which is reflected in his numbers. He is in the top 10% of the breed for WW and YW epds. His sire SCR Triumph 2135 sits in the top 1% for WW and YW.
Wide top, long spine and deep body are the first words that come to mind when you see this meat machine. 100L is the full package that travels on a tremendous foot. He has a weaning ratio of 111 and his TSI is in the top 10% at 274.66. This bull will add extra pounds to any calf crop.
68L is a full brother to the lead-off bull in last year’s sale that sold to Nester Ranching. He has the same nicely shaped head and smooth shoulder. He moves freely and has a big sound foot.
If you are looking for a complete bodied bull then 125L will fill the bill. He is solidly built and sits in the top 3% for
His calves will push the scale down. 125L is the type of bull that any commercial man can use.
Does protein affect calf birth weights? Some research suggests that cows fed a high-protein diet during the second trimester of gestation tend to give birth to heavier calves. In the summer of 2022, a hailstorm significantly reduced our silage supply, forcing us to adjust our winter feeding practices. The cows were fed a total mixed ration (TMR) consisting of ground hailed barley straw, high-protein dried distillers grains (DDGs), second-cut hay, and a smaller than normal amount of silage. In my opinion, this diet was relatively high in protein.
Interestingly, the calves born in 2023 exhibited noticeably higher birth weights compared to previous years. Many of these calves were full siblings to others born in prior seasons, yet their birth weights were significantly heavier. This unexpected outcome raises the possibility that the higher protein content in the cows’ diet may have influenced fetal growth. Just a thought.

The CCA Terminal Sire Index (TSI) utilizes economic and management descriptions of your ranching operation, along with EPD on available Charolais bulls to assist in identifying the most profitable sires for your unique operation. Using economic selection index theory, this tool will generate dollar indexes per terminal progeny produced on bulls in the CCA database, ranking them for profit potential given the inputs you provide. The dollar indexes are to be interpreted much like single trait EPD. For example, if sire A’s index is $191.66 and sire B’s index is $200.00, then we would expect Sire B’s offspring to average $8.34 more net return ($200.00 - $191.66) than sire A’s offspring.
This program assumes all offspring are marketed based on carcass value and replacement females are purchased or raised separately. Inputs should be provided based on historical information from your operation. The TSI
P&H Bulls are developed with BULLSEYE Premix
Greg Armson PH: 403-358-9037
economic default value is based on a three-year rolling average utilizing USDA data.
SIRE LISTING CRITERIA: For bulls to have a Terminal Sire Index they must be registered with the Canadian Charolais Association. Each bull must also have an EPD for BWT, WWT, YWT, MAT, REA, HCW, MARB, and FAT.
Note: The new TSI (2024) was developed to model a production scenario and breeding system where Charolais bulls are mated to Angus-based cows, 2 years of age and older, and all progeny fed out with harvested carcasses marketed on a value-based grid which includes a premium structure for cattle that are in the upper 2/3 Choice quality grade. These development features are detailed.
The complete source of information on TSI can be found on the CCA website. It is a good read.

37M always caught your eye when he was on pasture with his mother. He had an actual WW of 835 lbs. He is clean-made and very correct with a long body and nice hind quarter and he has a nice disposition.
2025 will be the second Bull Sale that Shelby & Marsha Charolais have been a part of. My mother and I started S&M Charolais in 2022 with our first purchase; a bred heifer from Cedarlea Farms in their 2022 female sale. And we have grown from there.
This year Marsha and I are excited to offer you at this year’s bull sale, a Two-Year-old Charolais bull and two Yearling Charolais Bulls. We are super excited to see what their future brings them.
SMC Sig 1M is out of the same dam as our first bull that sold
Welcome to another exciting year in the cattle industry! I couldn’t be happier in joining the P&H Ranching and Circle G annual bull sale once again. This year’s cattle market has once again surprised many in the best way possible with record setting fall calf prices and bred heifer sales.
This year’s bull crop was second to none and I think there is a bull within the pens that will work for any producer. From calving ease bulls to range bulls to show bulls, these bulls could work in many different operations.
We had another very successful fall show season starting off at Olds Fall Classic, then off to Farm Fair International for the Charolais National Show and then rounding it off at the Alberta Charolais Select Show and Sale. With a few banners, meeting up with past friends and meeting great new friends alike this fall show run was one for the
Natasha & Russell books! I would like to thank Brad, Beau, Phil, TJ, Abby and Natasha for helping out with the fall show run, I couldn’t have done it without all of your help!
I would also like to thank my parents, Darcey and Leisa, I would not be where I am today without your continued support, knowledge, advice and never-ending help. A special thank you to Natasha for supporting me every day and taking the absolute best care of our daughter, Avery.
The bulls once again have been fed a well-balanced ration that has allowed them to grow at a rate
that they will be productive for years to come. We follow a full herd health program with our friends at Veterinary Agri Health Services to ensure that they are healthy and ready to perform when the pastures turn green and are turned out with the cows. I look forward to seeing all our new and continued customers at the Innisfail Auction Mart! The bulls are always available for viewing along with the coffee hot and the beer cold.

RUSS Miss Moonlight 414M Full Sib to Lots 43, 44, 54 & 55
RUSS MARLIN 411M and RUSS MAGNUM 412M have been two of my stand out bulls since they hit the ground last January. Coming from one of my best donor dams, RUSS MISS GEORGIE 141G, that has a great foot, perfect structured udder, tons of length, depth and spring of rib and combine that with the high selling elite bull from Daines and O’Neill, WGD RUGER 8J, who has been a favourite with in the Charolais industry, you get a set of calves that have been head turners all year long. These two bulls have been a pair all fall going to Olds Fall Classic, Farm Fair International and The Alberta Select and bringing home the Champion banners from Farm Fair in classes; Produce of Dam, Get of Sire, and Breeder Herd. Marlin and Magnum have exceptional EPD profiles being 100K tested, Homo Polled and PA free. The power and performance of these two bulls has been absolutely impressive and I look forward to what the future has in store for them!
Smooth, long bodied, tons of rib and thick are just a few things that come to mind when I look at Magnitude in the pen. A bull that puts everything together so well you can’t help but notice the potential he has in store.
powerhouse bull with tons of hair, lots of extension throughout and thickness. RUSS 65M will be one that can travel long distances in open range pastures. Coming from my Jesse James bull, he will be one to put pounds on your calves come fall.
EPD’S
Here is a bull that will be sure to get out and travel, carrying lots of length, hair and thickness. He profiles extremely well and has been 100K tested to ensure that his epd’s are already very accurate.
A true head turner in the pen, you can’t help but notice how well RUSS 280M comes together. He starts off right with great head shape carrying into his neck extension and a smooth shoulder that follows into a body with a deep spring of rib and rounded off with lots of thickness throughout his body.
Mandalorian is a bull who will put pounds on calves for the fall run and a definite stand out in the pen. Being in the top 3% for weaning weight and top 2% for yearling weight on his EPD profile that is backed by 100K testing, the calves out of him will be sure to impress.
Another bull that has a ton of length and moves out extremely well. He profiles great and comes from one of my top cows that I purchased from Corrine, PH 20D, a few years back. The combination from my Jesse James bull and this cow has worked extremely well and I always look forward to their calves every year.
Getting into the calving ease bulls, I start off with a bull that has a lot of performance, is easy on the eyes and will allow you to get some sleep at night when his calves start coming. RUSS 651M will be one to get those calves on the ground and with good vigor.
Here is a well balanced bull that could work well on your replacement heifer program. With Del Rey on the top side of his pedigree and going back to my Mr. Ease bull on the bottom side. RUSS 128M is in the top 1% for birthweight and calving ease on his EPD profile.
EPD’S
Another bull that has good performance, gets out and moves freely and has that right shape to him that you will be able to use on your replacement heifers. Being in the top 1% again for Birthweight and Calving Ease. Sleep easy when this RUSS 281M’s calves start hitting the ground.
Jumping back into the ET bulls, the combination between my Miss Georgie cow and Ruger was exactly what I was looking for. RUSS 413M has been one to impress all year long, he has the style and look that my donor cow demands and carries the performance and power that Ruger carried extremely well.
Here is a bull that has lots of length, depth of rib and carries it well by a good foot and leg structure. Moving freely when he gets out and walks RUSS 416M will be able to travel the distance and put the performance into your calves.
EPD’S
Deep, long and hairy come to mind when thinking of RUSS 172M. Utilizing the Casanova genetics this bull is one to be sure to keep an eye on come sale day and watch his calves produce for your fall run.
EPD’S
Look at this rugged powerhouse cow bull here! A bull that goes back to my original cow family, RKR MISS 4L 7N, who has the most influenced genetics within my herd. The females have all shown longevity, docility, great udders and foot followed up with topping the weaning weights come fall. RUSS 72M will be one to follow if you are wanting a bull that can put replacements in the pen and heavy steers come fall.
58 RUSS
EPD’S
The tank of the bulls in the pen. Easily one of the thickest, longest, deepest and hairiest bulls that I have on offer this year. Since weaning, RUSS 719M, has come ahead and shown a lot of potential for what he has in store.
RUSS 722M is a well balanced moderate bull who would work well in many commercial herds. Stout made, lots of length and once again going back to the RKR 7N cow family showing promise of a lot of longevity.
Scurred Twin MC875843 RUSS 727M
EPD’S
Length, good foot structure, great length of stride and docility are all things that RUSS 727M carry. A twin to RUSS 722M, run them together to have the same genetics working with your cattle.
Welcome to the 2025 edition of our bull sale. First and foremost, we extend a huge thank you to all our buyers over the past year. Whether it be our many valued, long-term customers or first-time buyers, the support shown Corinne, Russell and myself is very gratifying. We truly appreciate this loyalty and understand the degree of trust you place in us when you invest in our bulls. We take pride in offering high quality genetics and stand behind our product. What an exciting time to be in the cattle business! Beef producers are finally being rewarded for their hard work and dedication. Quality beef is in high demand and the industry is well positioned to be profitable for years to come.
I’m very proud of this set of bulls. Much time, effort and money has been devoted towards building this cowherd...they are the factory. Visitors compliment me on my cows’ ease of fleshing and uniformity as well as their foot and udder quality. This has been achieved by culling ruthlessly for those traits. I also utilize genetics that enhances calving ease, feed efficiency and carcass quality while maintaining above-average growth and performance. I believe that epds are a valuable selection tool, especially in the BW, CE and carcass traits. Carcass quality is a crucial economic trait and we as seedstock producers need to improve what’s under the hide to move the breed forward and improve our customers’ bottom line. I use ultrasound carcass scanning technology to find out where my genetics rate and to provide actual data to build my carcass epds. I’m pleased to see most of my genetics rank highly. This data is important and I urge you to evaluate these traits when making bull purchases. Some of the “popular” Simmental sires have very disappointing epds for carcass quality and other traits. I pride myself on breeding cattle that look good and are functional, while having top ranking, balanced epd numbers...take note of the breed epd rankings listed with each sale bull.
This catalogue has pictures of the mothers for 80% of my sale bulls...no other sale provides this but I feel it is very valuable information that’s needed to truly evaluate the bulls and make informed buying decisions. Once again, Ben and Joe’s assistance allowed me to get these pictures taken last fall prior to weaning.
The Circle G bulls were weaned on September 8 and ran on green feed swaths and banked grass for 2 weeks in a 10 acre field. They were then started on a silage-based TMR ration that is balanced to grow them and allow them to express their genetic performance potential without impairing their soundness and longevity. No creep feed is used through the summer and no feet are trimmed. I feel it is very important to have the weaning weights reflect the dam’s milking ability. The bulls were in their field getting plenty of exercise until December 15 when they were brought into the yard to be sorted and clipped for the pictures and videos and given their first shot of Fusogard. There will be bigger, heavier bulls sold at sales this year but you will not find a sounder, more athletic set of bulls anywhere.
All the bulls 12 months and older by sale time will be semen tested. The bulls will return to the farm after the sale and those bulls that haven’t been semen tested will be after they have matured more. Delivery to your farm will follow.
This group of sale bulls were selected from 134 bull calves that were born. The twelve oldest calves didn’t receive a weaning index as they were placed in a separate management group by the CSA due to their age at weaning. No games or tricks are played here to enhance certain sire’s epds by placing “special” animals in separate management groups. These sale bulls are an exciting set with large sire groups that offer my customers some new genetics. Note that there are numerous bulls that will provide very similar calving ease to the Angus bulls that I’ve offered in the past. In fact, there is a pen of 24 bulls that has been sorted as the calving ease bull pen.
The sale bulls provide a wide range of bloodlines and phenotypes to suit different operations and breeding goals, and there should be a bull, or bulls, that will be a perfect match for your herd and budget.
We hope you can be with us in Innisfail on sale day, but for those unable to attend, we are providing various options and ways for you to buy your bulls. DLMS will be onsite to handle internet bidding, our sight-unseen buying program has worked very well in the past and a very competent sales staff can assist you as well. See pages 2 & 3 for more information.
I strongly encourage you to come and view the bulls and their mothers at the farm prior to the sale or call and visit about the bulls. Remember that no one knows the bulls better than me and I will gladly discuss them with you. The bulls will be available for viewing at Innisfail on Thursday and Friday.
This is the strongest set of bulls ever offered...the quality runs very deep. Like Corinne at P&H, I aim to offer a quality product, with great customer service and look forward to visiting with you at the sale on February 15th.
Sincerely, Garth Cutler 403.304.0896
We are committed to providing top service to our customers by following up on the cattle we sell. Buyer feedback helps shape our breeding programs.
We keep a select group of bulls out of the sale for customers that may require a bull/s through the breeding season.
Please note that the video footage was shot when we pictured the bulls on December 27 & 29. The days are very short at that time of year so some of the photos and video footage may be darker and show some shadows. Also keep in mind that the bulls are just 11-12 months of age at this time.
Calving ease is a combination of a bull’s actual birth weight, his genetics (epds) and the females a bull is bred to. 50% of the equation is the management and genetics of the female. The Calving Ease Score (CE) provided is my best estimation of calving ease after evaluating the actual BW, epds, genetics and body shape of each bull.
**** Suitable for use on heifers - should produce minimal calving issues
*** Suitable for use on larger framed heifers
** Recommended for second calvers and cows

Over the past 10 years we have supported the Circle G Bull Sale. We purchased many easy calving, low birth weight Red Angus bulls and had tremendous success with them. Garth is very honest and his bulls exceeded our expectations on both heifers and cows. Garth is proactive and pays attention to details; he diligently sources and researches new genetics with true curve bending results in the industry. Now, that his focus is on the Simmental breed, we have purchased those to add some hybrid vigor to our maternal herd. Circle G bulls continue to impress us with their genetics, temperament, statistics, and longevity. Garth, himself, offers exemplary customer care. We always appreciate Garth’s knowledge, diligence, finetuned research, EPD’s and his commitment to his operation, the bulls, the buyers and the industry.
Jess & Cindy Hudson / Hudson Ranch
We have been attending the P&H and Circle G sale for over 10 years. Corinne and Garth are knowledgeable, honest and stand behind every bull they sell. Their bulls are outstanding and in amazing condition. The Innisfail Auction Market is run very professional and we look forward to going every year and having the opportunity to buy bulls that we are very proud to breed our cows with.
Ben Bamford on behalf of the Bamford Family
I run around 60 commercial cows and due to the constraints of working off farm, calve at the end of March. I was unhappy with the weaning weights I was seeing with it being almost a miracle to have any steer weighing even close to the seven hundred pound mark. My selection process was, until that point, merely purchasing bulls that looked good to me and tending to emphasize calving ease. Seeing other breeders around me doing better than I was, I decided to put more effort into my bull selection and through that process I learned about the heritability of traits that are important to me.
Since purchasing my first Circle G bull in 2020, the productivity of my cow herd has increased substantially. Five years and five Circle G bulls later I have gone from producing six fifty weight steers to just over eight hundred pound beauties under the same management practices. All the bulls have had no temperament or foot issues. I retain my own replacements and the genetics of the Circle G bulls has really improved my cowherd in conformation and decreased their frame size. I am now proud of the animals we produce. This year we will be looking to add a couple more bulls and Circle G will be the first place we look.
Thank you, Garth and Circle G Glenn Amendt, Breton, Alberta

War Zone is very good on paper and was an impressive herd bull until he was lost to injury. His epd profile is outstanding across the board with CW in the top 1%, REA in the top 2% and Marbling in the top 10% of the breed! He was purchased by Shady Nook Simmentals for $24,000 and Circle G secured the first semen package. War Zone progeny are “real world cattle” as they will enhance performance and carcass quality while moderating birth weights and improving the maternal side. His first daughters calved last year and I’m very pleased with their udder structure and milking ability...he’s passed the critical test for a seedstock sire. Several War Zone daughters have high end sons selling in this sale.

We purchased our first Circle G Simmental bull in 2022. We have been more than happy with his superior progeny. He throws solid, growthy steers with super bone, thickness , and conformation, that have gone on to be very competitive in the 4H ring. He crossed exceptionally well with our cows leaving us with well balanced replacement heifers that check all the boxes.
We were proud to have won Champion Pen of Commercial Heifers last year at the Oyen Beef Congress with three of his daughters. We will be calving his first heifers this spring and we’re sure they won’t disappoint
Thanks Garth, Lowell Johnston & Shawna Brunner

We just wanted to send a quick message to thank you for your amazing bulls. We purchased one from your sale this spring, and he came a little cheaper only because his stats weren’t that good at the time. Well, he exceeded all our expectations and became a typical Circle G bull we’ve always loved. We put him in a pasture with 20 cows to begin with, but because of the drought we had to bring in another ten and took our chances he could cover them all. We finished pregnancy checking a couple weeks ago and every one of his females were pregnant and all in the same month! Just like the previous one we purchased from you he is so nice to handle and be around.

The Circle G cowherd has been culled ruthlessly for udder and foot quality, ease of fleshing and temperament. I insist on these fundamentals. The cows are not pampered and are managed similar to those of many of my commercial bull customers utilizing swath grazing and high roughage rations. 20% of their silage based winter feed is made up of straw to lower input costs and put selection pressure on the herd. Every year at least 15% of the cowherd is removed and replaced...each cow must earn the right to stay.
The Circle G cowherd is functional, sound and highly productive.
Be assured that every Circle G bull is backed by a quality dam.

Increase in pounds per calf from a top-performance bull
X the Number of cows bred to him per year
X the Number of years to keep the bull
X the Expected selling price of calves
= Additional dollars you can pay for a better bull
EXAMPLE: A bull who will add 30lbs to the weaning weight of each of his calves mated to 25 cows per year for 4 years and you sell the calves for $3.00 per pound
30 lbs X 25 cows = 750 lbs
750 lbs X 4 years = 3000 lbs
3000 lbs X $3.00 = $9000
This bull is worth $9000 more than the average bull who will keep your weaning weights the same. Take this formula and put your own figures in and see what you can afford to pay. This equation does not consider the increase in value due to calvingease, higher quality replacement heifers, yearling growth, feedlot gain and improved carcass quality.
