In the sacred Islamic religion, Muslims believe in a multitude of factors that ultimately explain our presence in this world, including God’s messengers, the Holy Books, belief in both the Day of Resurrection and the Hereafter, belief in the Oneness of Allah ( هناحبس ىلاعتو), and also belief in the unseen, all of which end up being connected. Now what exactly is the unseen? The unseen, Al-Ghaib in Arabic, refers to those things which are concealed, hidden from the people of this world. The unseen encompasses all of what we cannot see with our eyes, including God, the Angels, the Jinns, Jannah (heaven), Jahannum (hell), and perhaps more beyond humans’ understanding.
To understand the answers to these questions, we must first turn to the most helpful guide of all, the Qur’an. In surah Baqarah, in the very beginning, Allah ( هناحبس ىلاعتو ) refers to the believers.
But why must Muslims believe in Angels? Is it so important to the Islamic faith?
“This is the Book! There is no doubt about it a guide for those mindful ˹of Allah˺ who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and donate from what We have provided for them,” (Surah Baqarah ayahs 1-2). The unseen, as we know, is also a point to the angels, presenting how belief in their presence is essential along with the other orders in the ayat. But what exactly do Muslims believe about the Angels?
Why are they so important?
