The invocation was given by the Reverend Anson Justice.
w On motion of Mr. McCray, seconded by Mr. Thompson, the minutes of the meetings of December 1, 1958; December 10, 1958, and December 23, 1958 were approved as read. The President recognized the viators present and listed above, and gave them a warm welcome to this first meeting of the Board for 1959 and to future meetings of the Board.

Mr. Prigmore, Auditor, reported all bills recommended for payment by the Board have been checked by’the Auditing.. Department.
Auditor's Report
The Attorney, W. A. Lybrand, reported no legal matters needing the immediate attention of the Board.
Attorney's Report
Legal and financial reports submitted were approved on motion of Mrs. Melton, seconded by Mr. McCray.

SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT Motion was made by Mr. McCray and seconded by Mr. Thompson to approve the following resolution directing Mr. Gilbert Robinson to attend the meeting designated on the dates as shown: RESOLUTION
R. #317 Trip for Mr. Robinson Approved
The Board of Education of the City of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma feels it would be of great benefit to the Oklahoma City School District if Mr. Gilbert L. Robinson, Director of Personnel, would attend a meeting of the Program Committee of the American Association of Examiners and Administrators of Educational Personnel, to be held in Austin, Texas, January 7> 1959NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That Mr. Robinson be directed to attend the meeting indicated, with the understanding that such attendance is solely for the present necessary good of the schools of the District; if he can arrange his work so as to do so, and this being a special service for the Board of Education, that it is hereby ordered that all expenses of Mr. Robinson on the trip be paid by; the Board of Education.
On roll call, the motion carried with all members present voting "Aye." It was moved by Mr. Thompson and seconded by Mrs. Melton that the following Resolution of Appreciation for Miss Christina Butler, retired teacher, deceased, be adopted:
RESOLUTION The Board of Education learned with deep regret of the passing of Miss Christina Butler, December 21, 1958.
