Geek Out at Downtown OKC Library’s GeekCon 2025

By Zoe Elrod, Internal Communications Coordinator

Where can you find Star Wars costumes, comic book debates, and Pokémon card trading all in one place? GeekCon 2025 at the Downtown OKC Library! This all-ages celebration of geek culture happens Saturday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

GeekCon founder Kimberly Edwards is bringing her love for comic and pop culture conventions—like San Diego’s Comic-Con —right to the heart of Oklahoma City. Her mission? To create a free, fun and accessible space for fans to connect with fellow enthusiasts.

“I wanted to give people an opportunity to come to a place where they didn’t have to pay any money,” Edwards explains.

This year’s theme, Brave New World, promises a jam-packed day of creativity, cosplay and community. Enjoy activities for fans of comics, anime, Star Trek, Star Wars and more including the exciting debut of Cardboardlandia, a handson cardboard construction zone designed to spark creativity for both kids and adults.

Activities include:
