THE HEARTBEAT OF A LIFE WITH GOD Prayer lies at the very centre of life with God. In prayer, we enjoy the Father’s company, commune with our Creator and Saviour, and join Him in His redeeming work. Practice gratitude in prayer. Intercede for others. Pray for our missionaries and their countries. Bring your own petitions before God and pray without ceasing. The Apostle Paul wrote, “For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might…” (Ephesians 1:15–19, ESV) Jesus taught His disciples to pray, be healed through prayer, and reminded them that some battles can only be won through prayer. He prayed often and fervently—sometimes all night, sometimes with tears (Hebrews 5:7). When the Holy Spirit came upon Him, it was as He prayed (Luke 3:21–22). In His darkest hour, He prayed for His disciples and the Church, and even on the cross, His final words were a prayer (Mark 15:34). Timothy Keller wrote that prayer is the only entryway into genuine selfknowledge and deep change. It is how God gives us what we most need, how we truly know Him, and how we learn to treat God as God. To live a life of prayer is to live in rhythm with the heart of God. In that quiet communion, our hearts are aligned with His will, and our lives become vessels of His grace.

Methodist School of Cambodia - Pray for the school to nurture disciplined, compassionate, and excellent students who will shine God’s light and serve their nation with integrity. - Pray for wisdom in planning the redevelopment of the school building, which has stood for more than 30 years. 3. Community Outreach Services (COS) - COSI – Pray for Leakhana (Supervisor) and the house parents as they provide love, care, and guidance for the children. - COSY – Pray for Yeoun (Staff) as he ministers to the youths. - HOPE HOUSE – Pray for Sreng (Manager) and the teachers as they reach out to students through enrichment classes, football, and home visitations. 4. Post-COSI Integration Programme (PCOSIIP) - Pray for the 20 youths to pursue both spiritual and academic excellence. - Pray for safety as they travel to school daily on their motorcycles. 5. Methodist and Joy Hostels - Pray for pre-believers to be receptive to the Gospel. - Pray for the students to grow in the knowledge of God and in Christ-like character. 5. Missionaries (Carol Ong, Carol Loh, Timothy & Family) - Pray for wisdom, good health, and divine protection. - Pray for unity, strong teamwork, and encouragement as they serve together in the mission field.
CAMBODIA
1. Methodist Church in CambodiA - Pray for the Roundtable Meeting on 10–11 March 2026, as leaders and mission agencies gather to share, plan, and discern together. - Pray for the pastors to be faithful shepherds, grounded in God’s Word and steadfast in their calling.
Japan
1. Pray for the four NEW BELIEVERS IN OITA to grow in their faith, deepen their love for God, and develop a strong hunger for His Word as they attend weekly Bible study on Zoom. Pray that God will grant them wisdom, courage, and discernment when facing social pressures from friends, family, or the workplace, and that their hearts will remain steady in Christ. Pray that they will stand firm in the Lord, strengthened by the Holy Spirit, and remain steadfast in their new faith. Pray for God’s covering and anointing upon Kathy as she visits Oita every two months. May her time with them bring clarity, encouragement, and spiritual support. Thank God for one believer who is reading her Bible faithfully. Pray that she receives the right large-print Bible and that God’s Word will speak deeply into her heart. Pray for unity and strong relationships within the Oita group, and that their fellowship will be a testimony of God’s love in the community. 2. Pray for wisdom as the TEACHING MINISTRY transitions from two 16-session courses to three 8-session courses. May God guide Kathy in selecting what is most essential and fruitful. Pray for continued good relationships and communication with the educational board. 3. Pray for open hearts to attend the EASTER EVANGELISTIC GATHERING on 5 April. Pray for a fruitful season of seed planting, anointing upon the message, and smooth and protected logistics. 4. Pray for health, strength, and protection for all volunteers serving in WINTER OUTREACH ministries. Pray for safety during park ministry and for warm, compassionate hearts as they serve in the cold. Pray that encounters with the homeless will be meaningful and Spirit-led. May each bowl of soup become a touch of God’s love. May conversations bring comfort, hope, and dignity to those living in the park. 5. Pray for the Lord to send a MISSIONARY to serve in the Sakai, Osaka, Japan (in partnership with our missionary Kathy Tay who has been serving for over 25 years in Sakai, Osaka). May God raise someone who will respond to His call to reach the homeless as well as be involved with other outreach ministries such as language teaching and children’s camps, etc.
2. Pray for the CHURCH LEADERS, that they will receive a clear and unified vision from the Lord, one that encourages spiritual growth, nurtures the congregation, and strengthens the church’s witness within their communities. 3. Praise God for the 25th anniversary of SOPHIA’S HOME in February 2026. Thank God for His faithfulness and mercy over the past 25 years. Pray that this ministry will continue to be a catalyst for transformation, bringing hope, education, and love to the girls, and serving as a beacon of light that positively influences the wider community. 4. Pray for STABILITY AND PEACE during this important political season. With Nepal’s national elections scheduled for 5 March 2026, pray for a peaceful, fair, and transparent process. May God guide the hearts of voters, and raise righteous, wise, and capable leaders who will govern with integrity, justice, and a desire to build a prosperous and peaceful future for the nation.
NEPAL
1. Pray for God’s wisdom and guidance in the PLANNING AND BUDGETING process for the ministries in Nepal. Pray that resources will be allocated effectively, and that every decision will align with God’s purposes.
Thailand
1. Pray for the goal of Mettakij Church Association (MCA) to become a PROVISIONAL ANNUAL CONFERENCE by 2027. Pray that the objectives will be achieved, including the growth from 32 to 40 churches and preaching points, and for every church to have a functioning LCEC. 2. Pray for VINEYARD METHODIST SCHOOL (VMS) and LITTLE CANDLES SCHOOL (LCS) to continue excelling as mission schools. Pray that they will fulfil the Great Commission as they nurture and shape young lives. Pray for wisdom and good planning as we prepare to establish secondary levels in Thailand. 3. Pray for God’s healing, comfort, and strength for our PASTORS AND THEIR FAMILIES. Pray for Rev Santi, whose kidney has completely failed and is awaiting a kidney transplant. Pray for Pastor Lawan, who faces water retention complications after lymph node removal due to cancer. Pray for the daughter of Pastor Suwatchai, who experiences frequent and life-threatening seizures. Pray also for Pastor Daniel’s daughter, Sammi, who has issues in her brain. May God grant mercy, healing, and protection. 4. Pray for the MCA churches that held CHRISTMAS OUTREACH EVENTS in December. Thank God for the fruitful programme. Pray for those who experienced the love and hope of Christ, that the seeds sown will continue to bear lasting spiritual fruit.
2. Pray for the GOVERNMENT to be filled with God’s wisdom and righteousness to bring growth, stability, and peace to the nation as it officially became the 11th member of ASEAN on 26 October 2025. 3. Pray for our MISSIONARIES to be refreshed and renewed as they begin a new year serving the Lord. Pray for good health, strong community and relationships, and favour in every aspect of life.
Timor-Leste
1. Pray that God will bring a FRESH WIND OF HIS PRESENCE AND LOVE into the nation as a new year begins, revealing Himself as a personal Saviour to each Timorese. Pray for kingdom work and partnerships to flourish so that more may have the chance to hear the gospel and be saved.
4. Pray for SUNDERMEIER HOME & DUNAMIS HOUSE hostel ministries. Pray for the new batch of hostelites to adjust well to the routine. Pray that the older hostelites will be examples in love, speech, and action, and be a good testimony to the younger hostelites, the children in the outreach ministries, and their own homes. May the hostel managers lead with integrity and wisdom. 5. Pray for ST PAUL METHODIST SCHOOL (SPMS) as the new school term begins. Pray that all equipment, schedules, and routines will be well in place, especially for new students. Pray for renewed vision and passion for the teachers and staff. May students to start the year motivated and eager to learn. 6. Give thanks for SPMS’ mandate to educate and disciple young people in a nation where almost half the population is below 19 years old. Pray for the SPMS development PHASE 2 project, which includes two new classroom blocks, two new hostel blocks, and a chapel. Pray for churches, organisations, and individuals to partner with MMS and give generously to support 840 more students and 80 boarders. Pray that SPMS will continue to be a place of refuge and hope in a society where about 40% of school-going children drop out before completing high school. 7. Pray for MORE MISSIONARIES AND VOLUNTEERS to offer their time, experience, and expertise to contribute to the capacity-building of the local staff team, hostelites, and students.
God continues to open doors across the nations. As you journey through this prayer booklet, may the Lord stir your heart to see the needs of the world and the privilege we have to join Him in His work. Prayer moves us, shapes us, and prepares us to respond when He calls. Today, there are opportunities for those who are willing to serve, teach, lead, encourage, and shine Christ’s light in communities hungry for hope. Pray to the Lord of Harvest
The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest. (Matthew 9:37–38)
Testimony
FROM DARKNESS TO HOPE ~ by Anita Rai, Vijayee Methodist Church, East Nepal. She graduated from seminary in Kathmandu. Currently, she is serving as a full-time staff at Abhishek MC, West Nepal. (This is an abridged version. For the full version: go to www.mms.org.sg/post/from-darkness-to-hope.)
I grew up in a home filled with fear and conflict. My father was an alcoholic, and fights broke out every day. My mother carried the heavy burden of caring for our family, while I lived in constant distress. We followed traditional religious practices, worshipping many gods to avoid misfortune, but there was no peace in our home. One day, a Christian family moved into our village and began sharing the Gospel. Desperate for peace, my mother started attending church and learnt that true joy and salvation are found in Jesus whom she accepted as her Saviour. Though my father continued drinking, her calmness and faith slowly changed the atmosphere at home. I, however, resisted her invitations to church. Influenced by my cousins, I fell into bad habits and addictions. My life was spiralling downwards until my father fell gravely ill. Church members came to pray for him, and though he allowed it, he passed away before receiving treatment. Relatives blamed my mother’s new faith, but the church surrounded us with love and support.
Through their care, my heart began to soften. My friend Samjhana invited me to church, and from the moment I heard the hymns, I felt a deep, unexplainable peace. I began attending regularly, and within a month, I accepted Jesus as my Saviour. The day before, I had still been smoking and using tobacco. But after that decision, I left all my addictions behind. I often grieve that my father never came to know Christ. Before he left for the hospital, he told me he would accept Jesus when he returned. Though he never did, I thank God that through my pain, I found salvation. God’s love transformed my life. With encouragement from my pastor, I resumed my studies and became involved in church ministry. Today, I am filled with gratitude and hope. The Lord has turned my brokenness into beauty and given me a new purpose in life. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
