More Emergency Space Coming to Methodist Southlake

“We are excited to be growing in Southlake. Beyond expanding the emergency department, we are bringing in board-certified emergency medicine and intensive care physicians, and hospitalists. This experienced team provides high-quality, coordinated care, helping us meet our goal of becoming the trusted provider of choice in the community.”

Northern Tarrant County is growing fast — and the community needs an acute care hospital that will provide high-quality comprehensive care close to home. In an effort to meet that need, Methodist Southlake Medical Center broke ground on a two-phase emergency department (ED) expansion project in 2021. The new-build construction will quadruple the size of the emergency department, adding 5,506 square feet and increasing capacity from three to 12 beds. It will also provide a larger waiting area, enhanced diagnostic capabilities and expanded service lines, including cardiology and nuclear medicine.

Methodist Southlake is the only Methodist Health System hospital in northeast Tarrant County, and its service area includes Southlake, Trophy Club, Keller, Colleyville, and North Richland Hills. One of the newest hospitals in the system, it was acquired through a joint venture in 2016 and became wholly owned in 2021. The expanded ED will open in early 2023.
