Methodist to Open the First Hospital in Celina
“We are very thoughtful about where we decide to grow, so when we choose a new location, it is a big deal. In preparation for construction, we held meetings with the mayor, fire chief, and community leaders in Celina, and we found that we share many values. We couldn’t be happier about building in this community.”
— Pam Stoyanoff, MBA, CPA, FACHE, president and chief operating officer, Methodist Health System

Celina is among the fastest-growing cities in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex — but without a full-service hospital, its residents must drive to neighboring cities for inpatient care. In response to exponential growth and a corresponding need for quality healthcare, Methodist Health System broke ground on its newest hospital, Methodist Celina Medical Center, in the beginning of 2023. The new facility is expected to open in 2025.
The five-story, 200,000-square-foot hospital will include 48 inpatient beds, and 16 emergency department beds, and a shelled fourth floor with space to include 30 more beds as needed. It will also have a cardiac catheterization lab, two procedure rooms, and three operating rooms, with shelled space for one more. Service lines will include women’s services, children’s services, cardiovascular care, cancer care, orthopedics and robotic surgery. The 47-acre campus will also house a two-story, 42,000-squarefoot medical office building and space for parking, and it includes a master plan for future growth. Adding a new hospital not only expands the Methodist brand and mission, it also allows us to provide more resources to our southern Dallas campuses.
“In addition to quality health services and care, Methodist Celina will also bring significant economic benefits to the region, creating primary jobs, secondary jobs from surrounding businesses, construction jobs, and increased retail and sales revenue. This impact will positively affect the community — and it will grow significantly over the years to come.”
— James C. Scoggin Jr., chief executive officer, Methodist Health System
