Today was a really good day. It could have been a great day, but I’ll explain why it didn’t quite qualify as great later. When we woke up it was snowing lightly, the gray clouds slightly foreboding. But the snow report called for sun- ny skies, so we ignored what we saw out the window, laced up our boots and headed out. It’s not that conditions were amazing. Anyone who’s been in the Alps this season can attest it’s been a disappointing year. But it had been snowing lightly for the last 4 days so we in- tended to hike around and score some fresh.
