Hisler sees total package in his squad if team puts in the work

Plenty of excitement surrounds the Webster City wrestling program this winter, as the Lynx return state medalists, North Central Conference champions and welcome a handful of talented incoming freshmen who will compete for a spot in the lineup.
Veteran head coach Chad Hisler sees both power and potential with his squad, but there is still plenty of work ahead.
“We have good numbers and a really solid group back,” Hisler said. “The kids have been working hard and doing a great job.
“Since I took over, this is my biggest senior class. It’s not an overly big one (relatively speaking), but for us it is, and they are a group that really provides a great deal of leadership. They’ve been wrestling together for years now.”
Like many schools, Hisler has had to balance seeing his athletes play multiple sports — with many enjoying quite a bit of success in those arenas as well.
“We always preach wanting everyone out for as many sports as possible,” he said. “It’s just the way it has to be. I coach three sports myself, and love seeing them doing so much.”
Hisler has also noticed a trend within his program with those kids.
