Brenta base camp 2014 – Trento Film Festival 150 years after climbers discovered the Brenta Dolomites, Alessandro Beber and Alessandro Baù set up the Brenta Base Camp with the aim of opening new climbing routes on the faces symbolising these mountains. Alongside the two climbers, their friends Simone Banal, Matteo Faletti, Jiri Leskovjan, Fabrizio Dellai, Claudia Mario and Matteo Baù alternate on the rock faces. The small expedition presents an opportunity for dialogue between the past and the present.

The Deutsche Wanderverband or DWV (German Hiking Association) is the specialist organisation for hiking in Germany.

In the DWV there are 600,000 hikers organised into 57 regional mountain and hiking clubs.

DON GLADSTONE Don Gladstone has been delivering product and customer care training for the last 21 years. Initially starting in sales, Don established Peoplework in 1993 and has run seminars and clinics in the US, Canada and Europe. Don has worked with many of the world’s leading outdoor brands and retailers in delivering effective, sustainable customer sales programmes. At the heart of Don’s work is optimising the consumer’s retail experience thus enabling the retailer to maximise on footfall and sales conversion.

CHRISTIN GLÖCKNER Christin Glöckner (born 1985) studied product and process engineering for textiles, focusing on textile finishing. She completed her studies as a Bachelor of Engineering in February 2014 at the University of Kaiserslautern. In 2014, she started work in the Department of Hygiene, Environment & Medicine at the Hohenstein Institute. Since mid2014, she has been a team leader in research and development. She is currently doing research in the fields of textile degradation processes, functional textiles and medical textiles.

Christin Glöckner (*1985) studierte Produkt- und Prozessengineering für Textil mit Schwerpunkt Textilveredlung an der Hochschule Kaiserslautern, wo sie im Februar 2014 ihr Studium als Bachelor of Engineering abschloss. 2014 begann sie mit ihrer Tätigkeit in der Abteilung Hygiene, Umwelt & Medizin an den Hohenstein Instituten.

Seit Mitte 2014 ist sie dort als Teamleiterin in der Forschung & Entwicklung tätig. Ihre derzeitigen Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen in den Bereichen textile Abbauprozesse, Funktionstextilien und Medizintextilien.

SPEAKERS 2015 CLAUS HÄNLE Claus Hänle is an expert in process and organisational design and has wide experience in the PIM / MDM and eCommerce environment. He built up the necessary expertise over his 15 years as a consultant and project manager. During this time he worked in management positions for consulting firms, international trading companies and software manufacturers. As an industrial engineer he enjoys developing working solutions, always watching out for concepts which can be implemented and the change management activities which are necessary.

As founder and author of the social media marketing blog socialmedia-blog.de he writes about brand building in social media, social CRM and social commerce on a regular basis.

NORA KÜHNER Nora Kühner studied fashion design at the Deutsche Meisterschule für Mode in Munich. In 1987 she opened her own design & consulting studio. Since then she has designed collections for various well-known international companies in the sportswear industry. She focuses mainly on clothing collections for skiing, tennis, golf, soccer, swimming and fitness. Nora Kühner is an internationally acclaimed expert in sportswear trends.

Nora Kühner studierte Modedesign an der Deutschen Meisterschule für Mode in München. 1987 gründete sie ihr Designund Beratungsstudio. Seither entwirft Nora Kühner Kollektionen für diverse namhafte internationale Unternehmen der Sportbekleidungsbranche. DR. MARKUS A. KÜRTEN Markus is senior director of Legal & Compliance for the adidas Group. In his role, Markus deals with all general legal matters within Central Europe (ten countries) as well as certain global legal matters for adidas AG. He is also the compliance officer for Central Europe. The main areas of Markus’ work include contractual matters (endorsement agreements with clubs, federations and athletes), competition law / anti-trust matters, advertising regulations, litigation, and compliance.

He has worked for some major international brands and organisations, including Berghaus and the European Outdoor Group. Chris is a social media expert. He helps individuals and companies to establish and grow their networks through platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, and then successfully integrate this activity into wider marketing plans.

KURT SCHLÄPFER Kurt Schläpfer has over 30 years of textile industry experience. After completing an apprenticeship and studies in textiles, he worked for textile manufacturers in Switzerland, South Africa and South America. In 2009 he joined bluesign technologies ag and is now senior manager for Customer Relationship Management.

Kurt Schläpfer verfügt über mehr als 30 Jahre Erfahrung in der Textilindustrie. Nach einer Lehre und dem Studium der Textilgestaltung arbeitete er für Textilhersteller in der Schweiz, Südafrika und Südamerika. DR. ANDREAS SCHMIDT Andreas Schmidt (Doctor of Natural Sciences) is a chemist and in 2002 received his doctorate in material separation and straining of fibre-forming polymers. He first worked at Henkel in development and finally, as head of product development, in the field of organic coatings. Since 2009, he has been director for the Function and Care Department at the Hohenstein Institute.

Dr. rer. nat. Andreas Schmidt ist Diplom-Chemiker und hat 2002 zur Materialtrennung und dehnungsinduzierten Gefügeänderung in faserbildenden Polymeren promoviert. PAULINE SHEPHERD Pauline Shepherd has worked in research for 15 + years and manages the market research programme for European Outdoor Group.

Former research experience includes working on both the client and agency side, undertaking both B2C and B2B research. This has been across a number of different markets including consumer durables, financial services, group risk & employee benefits.

Nach mehr als 15 Jahren Forschungstätigkeit leitet Pauline Shepherd heute das Marktforschungsprogramm der European Outdoor Group. In der Vergangenheit war sie als Marktforscherin gleichermaßen auf Kunden- wie auch auf Agenturseite aktiv und führte sowohl B2C- als auch B2B-Marktforschungsprojekte durch.

The combination of climbing and education knowledge underpin her lecture about climbing safety education for retailers. In her lecture Marianne will explain how she and her team developed the programme and how this can be used in your business.

Marianne van der Steen ist studierte Wald- und Naturschutzexpertin, Geologin und Pädagogin und besitzt ein internationales Diplom in Erziehungswissenschaften – in allererster Linie ist sie jedoch eine Kletterin von Weltrang. DIRK VON CZARNOWSKI Dirk is the vice president at Global Chemical, Intertek Consumer Goods, he has over 15 years’ involvement in product testing and safety, focused on textiles, fabrics and footwear. He has been living for the last 11 years in Hong Kong and just returned to Germany last year. Back in Germany, he continues to advance Intertek’s leading role in developing multiple concepts for sustainable solutions.

Dirk von Czarnowski ist Vizepräsident Global Chemical bei Intertek Consumer Goods und verfügt über mehr als 15 Jahre Erfahrung in den Bereichen Produktprüfung und Produktsicherheit mit Schwerpunkt Textilien, Stoffe und Schuhwaren. Nach 11 Jahren in Hongkong kehrte er 2014 nach Deutschland zurück, wo er weiterhin für Intertek tätig ist und die Führungsrolle des Unternehmens bei der Entwicklung diverser Nachhaltigkeitskonzepte vorantreibt.

CHRISTIAN WEISS Christian Weiß has a degree in business administration. He specialises in market research. In 2007 he was made project manager at Hagstotz ITM Research & Consulting and was involved in various national and international market research studies. Since 2012 Christian Weiß has been at mindyourbrand where he is responsible for the development and publication of the “Outdoor Market Report”, which analyses the consumers’ perspectives and makes them transparent for producers and traders. mindyourbrand is a specialist firm for research-based consultancy in the outdoor industry.

Christian Weiß ist Dipl.-Betriebswirt (FH) mit Fachrichtung Markt- und Kommunikationsforschung.
