Messsage for the Graduating Class of 2017 T

his is an exciting time in the lives of the teachers and parents of the students, as they delight with satisfaction, participating in the Sts. Peter & Paul Class of 2017 school leaving ceremony. This occasion is an indication that these students have attained the state of readiness to proceed to another level of their academic and human formation. Therefore, I join with the graduating class as they express great appreciation and gratitude to their parents, guardians, teachers, supplement staff, and schoolmates whom journeyed with them to enable them to arrive at this moment with a sense of accomplishment. Students, as you look forward to the opportunities that the future holds for your all-round personal ongoing development, do not lose that humility and ready acceptance that up to now made you willing to cooperate with spiritual experiences as an important part of your formation. In one too many instances, as children get older, they neglect or reject engaging in spiritual exercises that can guide and enrich their personal development. So, as the scriptures encourage: “Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, ‘I find no pleasure in them’” (Eccl 12:1). I pray Our Lord God’s continued blessing for each of you, and may it be the foundation of your future successes! Yours in Christ, Most Rev. Kenneth D. Richards, DD Archbishop of Kingston

Dear Graduating Class of 2017

Y

our journey at Saints. Peter and Paul Preparatory School, the Home of the Mighty Saints, has come to an end.

However, you are now going into another stage in your overall growth and development – high school. I urge you to take with you the Christian principles, values and attitudes that you learnt at the Home of the Mighty Saints. You are saints, that is, children of God. Continue to be saints! Do not forget that God wants you to be saints for the rest of your life. Sts. Peter and Paul Prep School has given you a good start. Go and Be the Mighty Saints in your respective high schools. Fr. Donald Chambers Pastor Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church

ongratulations! You have reached the first major milestone on your “Educational Journey.”

Remember at all times that honesty, hard work, friendship and respect for self and others are not just empty words found in the dictionary, but rather personal goals for a lifetime as productive citizens.

As you move on to high school there will be greater demands, responsibilities and changes from your familiar surroundings you have grown to love here at Sts. Peter and Paul Preparatory School. These changes and greater demands will require a greater degree of self-discipline, as you will be held more accountable for your actions.

My wish for you all: “Live your lives in such a way that you will reflect credit upon yourselves, your teachers, your parents and your community.” So with these words in mind, I implore upon you to now take your candles and go light the world!”

Good Luck Mighty Saints!!!!!!! Claudia Nugent (Ms.) Acting Principal Grades 3 - 6

I

t was indeed a privilege to have served this prestigious institution, Saints Peter and Paul Preparatory as the 2016 – 2017 Head Girl. It is hard to believe that we have come to the end of this crucial junction in our lives and are now preparing to make the bold step into High School. As we say goodbye, the many happy memories formed will forever be remembered: the Annual Sports Day, Christmas Fair, Class Party and Open Day. The new initiatives introduced as Head Girl such as Techno-Friday, Inter-Class Football Competition and of course, the well supported “Dress as Your Favourite Character Day” and “Sts. Peter and Paul Got Talent, Talent Show”, allowed the Deputy Head Girl, Selah Stiebel and myself to show the power of teamwork; these memories I will always cherish. We, the graduating class of 2016-2017 are grateful for the love and care of our Acting Principals, teachers, administrative staff, auxiliary workers, security guards, canteen staff and “Bimbo”. Each ensured that we received the best care daily.

Head Girl’s

Message

As Head Girl, I have learned that with leadership comes great responsibilities. The role offered the opportunity to relate to different personalities and better organise my time in such a critical year; having to prepare for GSAT, represent the school and plan activities simultaneously. It was a bit challenging but it was worth the experience. I could not have been successful without my hardworking prefect body, supportive teachers, dedicated parents and family members. I thank them very much. The time we all spent at school has truly been a wonderful experience that we will all cherish, Thank You Saints Peter and Paul, home of the Mighty Saints. You have prepared us well and we are now “Shaped for success”. It was an honour to serve my school for 2016 – 2017 as Head Girl. Shanice Deslandes

A

s I approach the end of my time here at SP&P Preparatory school as a student I am amazed at how quickly the time has passed. t feels like just a short time ago I was being dropped off by my parents for the first time. I was a little bit scared but I was mostly excited. Since then, I have enjoyed every moment of my experience here. I have learnt a lot here, in the classroom, on the football field and through every activity I have participated in. I want to thank everyone who has been a part of my life here, my teachers, Coach Orlando and Team, the ancillary staff, my friends and my family. I especially want to say a very big thank you to everyone who supported and encouraged me in my capacity as Head Boy. I wish you all a very successful and happy life. I encourage everyone to work hard for what you want because if you work hard and believe in yourself and your dreams, success will come. Always be yourself and always love yourself. Everyone of us is special and each of us is great in our own way. Be extraordinary, not only as students but as citizens and we will have a better world to live in.

Head Boy’s

Message

Finally I am encouraging everyone to treat each other equally and with respect. No matter what is happening to us, around us or even on TV, just remember that we are always better and stronger together. That is what I have learnt from football and that is what I will carry with me into the next step of my journey. That is what I leave with you too. Thank you!

“Mighty Saints forever!” Jeremy Cheuk Head Boy 2016 - 2017

My Best Friend M

y best friend`s name is Chelsea Stupart. We met when we were four years old in Kindergarden. I did not have any friends that were girls at that time so I did not play with anyone until one day Chelsea came to me and asked to be friends. I said yes and we became friends ever since that special day. As time passed, we became closer and closer as friends. She is one of the major people in my life.

pizza the best. In her spare time, she likes to read or watch television. She is a very kind, funny and pretty person to be around. She always makes me feel happy when I am down. Even if she was not my best friend or if she were with someone else she would still be the great person she already is. My life would be this way without her. Deep down in my heart, I love her like she was my sister. I really love Chelsea very much. I would not know what I would have done if I did not have a great, supportive, helpful and fun best friend like her.

These days she is about the same height as I am. She has short, dark hair and a brown complexion. Sometimes even when we are not at school, you can see us having fun with other people too. Sometimes we have small arguments, but in the end it ends up well and we are back to being the goofy people we already are.

neat and tidy. He also has one of the neatest desks in the class and always tries to make me neat. He likes all sports and plays them well but he is particularly good at tennis. Jordan is very fun to be around, he also knows when it is time to be serious. Through the years we have done many things together. We used to do tennis and music together. We have been to family events and birthday parties at places such as Mystic Mountain, Holywell and University Beach. We have even spent family holidays together. Once we went to Treasure Beach but the most exciting holiday was when we went to Disney Land. Despite our differences, he likes motorbikes and I like reading, and the fact that after GSAT we may go to different schools, I hope that we will always be friends. Thanks to Jordan I have more confidence than when we first met at school. ZIDAN GRAHAM
