SCAVENGER HUNT REQUIRMENTS
Asked to express a certain statement and make a composition. Avoid symmetry and linear compositions. All elements (forms, colours, textures) should have significance in out design.
INSPIRATION PICTURE
ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION
For this class assignment we were asked to choose a concept to represent using one type of material. It could be multiple pieces of the same material.
CONCEPT
‘SUCCESS’ AND THE JOURNEY TO SUCCESS: FLOURISH GROWTH JOURNEY POWERFUL
SKETCH
Rough start
distorted books
Long road to success to represent The rough start
Books are increasing to represent knowledge growing
MATERIALS TEXTURE- the books become less distorted as the model grows, showing how one can flourish as they grow in their success. BALANCE- as the composition gets taller more books are being stacked representing how someone becomes more powerful through their success journey using books.

FEEDBACK
- Take more risk next time, its too balanced - Make it less symmetrical next time - Try using different colours and sizes of books.
REFLECTION This was a very useful exercise as I learnt many new rules; such as taking more risk in my compositions and making them less symmetrical. Such rules were used to help develop my future compositions further.

Medieval headdress (1250-1500) Who? Significance? Wealthy women competed with each other to see whose headdress was the most extravagant and vibrant. Social class was very important back then. How? Mainly consisted of the two conical horns that stuck off the side of the head. What? Huge in size and bulky headdresses. They made any activity difficult, but then little activity was expected of women during this period in history

According to feedback again, I was asked to add more movement to the white composition, so I did and I ensured it looked unique from both sides

FEEDBACK The connected between the planes and tree trunk circles is uncomfortable.
Shesh sticks Tree trunk circled unique pieces – represent outdoor nature/wood Balsa wood for the planes Marbles to represent hardscape materials/ green and blue color to represent nature and water and more elegant Spot lights Foamboard REFLECTION
I aggreed with the feedback and I believed that the planes were too distracting and too bold compared to the rest of the compostion. Therefore I tried to focus on my connection in the next draft.
